Depends on the production. Mark Hammil could dumb on Last Jedi because he's Luke Skywalker, thus will likely not be recast and because he doesn't really work in Hollywood. Danse is a serious and older actor so can say what he want and not give a shit.

S7 and S8 are basically one season but split up by time, like breaking bad season 5, sopranos season 6, mad men season 7. Its 13 episodes (or like equivalent to over 14 with all the episodes that go over length) for the last book

meanwhile books one, two, and six got 10 episodes each, books four and five got 5 episodes each
