They're an atypical product of generation x, too cool for school losers who stick it to the man but are neurotically obsessed with what others think of them and so limit themselves out of fear and shame. Space Cop was an awful flop because they're too scared to really go for it and make a movie to the best of their ability, hiding behind a fake veneer of schlock content so they can chuckle and say "Yeah of course our project was terrible: it was supposed to be."
