22. I think when I realized jazz was cool, I stepped away from Modest Mouse. As a bass player it was more satisfying and challenging to play jazz shit than it was to play 3 notes while screaming angrily. The lyrics also reflected my state of mind less and less when I moved out of the depressing suburbs to a city with young, good looking people and things to do. That probably had the most to do with it, realistically. Getting out of suburbia did me in.
