I get why people hate Revolutions, but why is the Matrix Reloaded memed to be terrible again?

Best character Cypher is dead, new characters like Merovingian are shit, Smith back from the dead is stupid, "EXPECTATIONS SUBVERTED!" and Zion is a cave filled with mudskins? lmao
Reloaded was best. Matrix is second and revolutions third
burly brawl
Checkovs Vampires subverted.
Ergo vis a vie
It had some kino scenes
That based rave
Wrong, Reloaded is only good if you watch the action scenes and skip every story/character scene which is boring as shit
the agent fight with PS1 graphics
It was hard to understand when you just watch it after the first. They never tell you when they're in the matrix or real world, or really ever show them entering. I thought the concepts of the film may have been beyond the understanding of the average viewer.
Gotta narrow that one down a bit more.
The true redpill is realizing how utterly kino Reloaded was.
When could there ever be any doubt wether they are in the matrix or the real world? WTF.
Does anyone else just group them all together and consider it one piece?
Yeah ...of shit.
Reloaded was so hyped it didn't live to the expectations. But I enjoyed it very much, especially the score and the fight scenes. The 1 VS 100 looked good.
Burned. I'll see you back at the Anita general
Transmisogyny
Pretty much every single new character they introduced in the sequels were unlikeable or completely boring.
Zion and its people were completely alien, despite being touted as the 'last refuge of humanity'. There's no way the audience can possibly sympathize with underground 56% goblinos who live in a quasi-theocratic society and spend their free time engaging in orgies while dressed up like Star Wars characters.
Also, what the fuck was up with that indian family in Revolutions?
Because Zion (considering how important it is to the plot) is full of uninteresting characters, whom you're never really inspired to care about during the movie. The action (burly brawl rubber CGI people aside) is really great in the Chateau Fight and the Freeway Chase.
Maybe capeshit is more your thing, user.
Zion sounded great in the first one, and then we actually see it. I wanted those sweaty barefoot brownies to die.
Projection of the highest order, sequels are more or less capeshit
sort of but I still rewatch scenes from Matrx 1 and 2 most often
Really hated the costume design in those scenes.
Felt like they were taking too many notes from the Star Wars prequels.
Compared to the tight pacing of the first one, Reloaded was a mess of a structure in which you are taken from unangaging characters indulging in pop philosophy a unrelated big spactacle action sequence that is equally indulgent. The movie oscillate between these two styles of scenes until you end up in the end where Neo takes a crash course in Fatalism by professor Will Ferrel then the movie just ends.
Basically every problem the first film managed to avoid, Reloaded ran into them head on.
>Also, what the fuck was up with that indian family in Revolutions?
They were supposed to show that not *every* program in the Matrix was malicious; some were just trying to live out their lives like humans. That way when Neo converges with the machine's core to purge Smith, the sacrifice was greater.
The Indian family was a harmless Java program
Matrix should had been just one movie and not a trilogy. 2 is an ok flick and 3 is just garbage
I think the first Matrix had the benefit of the suits at Warner Bros. (and Joel Silver) giving the Wachowskis pointers, telling them what they could AND couldn't do. When it was such a gigantic hit, when it came time to do a sequel the studio wrote the Wachowskis a blank check and stepped back. The sequels were the result. Basically the same thing that happened to George Lucas with the prequels.
woah thanks for that unique and never heard of opinion goddamn
The wachowskis said it’s a one big story that they had to split because of time and technology. Looking back at it, it makes sense. It’s their story, they wrote it with a beginning middle and end. The matrix movie as a stand-alone makes no sense since it had no end to it. The purpose of the one was not fulfilled. Reloaded and revolutions gave it a middle and an end. Granted there was a lot of filler that was hit and miss.
The suits have never benefited anyone. Ever. Your entire post.. your views.. your taste.. your audacity.. your lack of self-awareness.. lack of respect..
..not...
..not good
I'm afraid I'm going to have to rate your post accordingly

Reloaded was not the best. Matrix was the best because it could have been left as a one-off and been solid. Reloaded was good, but it was doomed by the fact that resolution was trapped in the shitty Revolutions.
because it was successful in the mainstream and edgelords hate that
>The matrix movie as a stand-alone makes no sense since it had no end to it.
What nonsense is this? His arc is over, he's become The One and can alter the Matrix as he sees fit, the fight is over. The sequels are clearly a cashgrab and anything they've said to the contrary is damage control.
It was a simply tale about rebuking authority and all they did was convolute it
Initially I thought that the sequels would explore the trippier aspects of a Matrix that was about to be changed by the machines. Like the reduction of gravity and new forms of architecture, new landscapes... new forms of consciousness in the midst of a war.
The One achieves his awakening. That was the whole point. I appreciate the story they tried to tell with the sequels but the first one had a good ending that they could have left at.
It’s actually a superior film to the original in most respects (and certainly leagues above Revolutions) but the average moviegoer is roughly this stupid: so it was too complex for them and they didn’t understand any of the philosophical concepts introduced, any references outside of ‘Icarus’, half of the words the Architect used, what the Merovingian was a reference to, Seraph’s function, etc
Shame, really. It’s about ten steps above what we have in theaters right now (Endgame, Aladdin, et al)
3 is just garbage
Why?
3 is based and tranny pilled.
Is this seriously why people hated the Matrix Reloaded? Because it didn't have enough white Americans?
Holy shit, all these years i thought people hated it for the retarded superman shit that Neo pulled off.
Visually the Wachowski sisters couldn't keep up with their ideas. I don't need a program to read me a story -- direct the film.
He flew in the first one, no one cared. The Zion rave was terrible and Morpheus looked like he ate the matrix.
He flew for 3 seconds at the end of the first movie.
No they're not.
Why does it matter? He can fucking do anything - why wouldn’t he be flying?
It matters because it turned into reddit tier capeshit.
Grabbing bullets out of the air and making an antagonist explode from the inside didn’t do that already?
way too many niggers desu. not even cool blacks like morpheous and tank. just ugly dumb niggers. no one likes them
>not one single post about Monica Bellucci
Probably THE BEST part about the whole movie.
burly brawl is best fight in history of cinema, fight me
I liked 3
keeping in mind where the story goes in Revolutions, tell me what the ultimate point of all the stuff with the Merovingian was. why is the restaurant/chateau/highway chase section of the movie as long as it is? all they're doing is meeting a character who will lead them to the next plot point.
you could cut an *hour* out of Reloaded and people would still be able to follow the story of the sequels.
"we need to find a guy named the keymaker."
"ok, here he is."
Reloaded and Revolutions could have easily been one 3 hour long movie, and they should have been.
3 was cool for the big mech things with machine gun arms the humans used. i made one out of legos back after i saw it. shit was cash
what was the point of all the stuff with the oracle in the first movie?
you could cut an *hour* out of the matrix and people would still be able to follow the story of the sequels.
"we need to find a guy named the oracle."
"ok, here she is "
>a guy named the oracle.
>here she is
lana pls
The first one was based on a treatment written by someone other than the Wachowskis. It was a self-contained story and that's it.
The sequels were written by the Wachowskis. They feel like cheap knockoffs of the original because they are.
>all CG
>absolutely no stakes for anyone involved since Smith can't hurt Neo and Neo can't kill Smith
>lasts 50 hours
>ends with Neo just flying away, which he could have done at any time making the whole thing absolutelyu pointless waste of everyone's time
There was no fucking point. There was never a point to anything in the Matrix sequels, there was just boring talking in riddles for what felt like forever, followed by boring pointless fight scenes that went way too long.
>but why is the Matrix Reloaded memed to be terrible again?
No Tank.
Kino
Brainlets would rather have pic related
How far we’ve fallen
Visually it aged poorly, but if I recall the whole point was the two characters sizing each other up, with it ending with neos first retreat since becoming the one. Keanu is no longer completely unstoppable.
Overindulgent like most of the movie, but not exactly pointless.
I want a new matrix movie with old Neo
To be fair, Tank's dumb ass did that to himself.
>demand a bigger role
>directors agree
>demand more money
>producers agree
>tell everyone you brought a loaded gun to the set
>nigger what are you doing
Tank was gay, right? Always got a bit of a gay vibe from his character.
seeing this in a theater when it came out was pure kinography
>The choosen one fighting bassically all the sci-fi western canon hell monsters to find the key to the source (aka god)
>Wtf why does take so long
What's the point in any piece of the story?
We have to destroy the bad ring. Okay the bad ring is destroyed. Why was the ring bad? You ask? Well you see it's a really interesting story, along with all the things that happened on the way to destroying the ring... but we rightly figured out audience were impatient sub-human pondscum with the IQ of a clay brick so we kept it about as simple as they could understand.
Reminder there are people who still say that the matrix made no sense because they don't understand it.
the architect was stupid. the rave cave was a bunch of filthy people grinding on each other. some of the fights seemed really stiff. the two faggy powder twins. the highway scene is the only thing i liked about it.
Reloaded is literally the reason scene selection in DVDs existed.
It's great (so long as you don't look too closely at it).
highway chase is pretty good. the rest felt like a poor imitation of what made the first movie good.
Milk truk just arrive lads
>but why is the Matrix Reloaded m̶e̶m̶e̶d̶ ̶t̶o̶ ̶b̶e̶ terrible again?
Overuse of crappy CGI, costumes are gayer (everyone is wearing dresses now), almost no character development, shitty cliffhanger ending, fights aren't as exciting because everyone seems way too overpowered (basically superheros now instead of regular humans operating at their skill limit), because of this there's not really any suspense and it's hard to even care what happens, too many woken characters (when there's one crew dressed edgy in the matrix it's cool, but when there's like 50 of them standing in a room it's extremely gay and cringe), the zion stuff simply isn't that interesting - whenever there are zion scenes it just feels like generic sci fi fare instead of something special like the first one which focused mainly on the matrix, agent smith didn't have the same impact or even feel intimidating now that he was getting his ass kicked effortlessly. Really the main problem is that the plot and directing is simply not as good as the first one. The story isn't as interesting, the sense of wonder and mystery is gone, every scene no longer feels crafted to perfection like you're watching one of the greatest movies ever made. It very clearly feels like the subpar sequel to one of the greatest movies ever made, which it is. And honestly at times I felt like many parts the sequels seemed like parodies of the first one.
