There's an argument to be made for that. Voyager has some of the worst ever Trek episodes but it also had many of the best (7of9 joining really did save the show).

I enjoyed VOY but as a whole it is 100% not as good as tng or ds9. Its best episodes (year of hell, living witness) are great but still arent better than the best eps of tng or ds9.

First 2 seasons were pretty painful. Third and fourth seasons should have been a set of 4-5 episode stories not full fucking season stories because they lost their steam really early and you just want it to get over with.
I enjoyed ent but it was short enough to not have enough really memorable episodes compared to how many Voy had

I think voy and ent are pretty equal but voy is just a bit better because it has alot more enjoyable characters and good episodes. ENT has some solid characters but 70% of the main crew are literally forgettable filler and one of the best characters is only in some episodes.
No absolutely every trek has really awful first seasons before they get the ball rolling.

There are plenty of reasons to dislike DS9. Yours are shitty though.

DS9 is less about the individual episodes and more about the season(s) long story arcs and character growth. So it's the one Trek you can't just jump into and need to watch from the start.

DS9 is fucking great. Obviously the beginning 2 seasons are pretty wack just like every other trek. But nearly every single character is great and there is no oh shit its a "X" episode unless you really hate one person. Try giving it another shot its great and there are plenty of skippable guides online

DS9 kicks into gear when the Dominion shows up. The Ferengi are a large part of the show through its entire run so if you hate them they aren't going anywhere.

DS9 is very political with many story arcs that extend over entire seasons before getting resolved. The first two seasons move pretty slow, but the show picks up when the show's main adversary the Dominion is introduced in season 3.

The Ferengi episodes are much needed comic relief amidst all the war and strife in the later seasons. But I still can't defend Profit & Lace. My god, that episode was bad.

The reason SG1 worked and the spin-offs didn't (some more than others) was because they lucked out on the cast. It was a perfect combination right from the start.

TOS is not in god tier. I'm sorry, but it just is not that good if compared to the stuff that came after it. Voyager is the only series in the Star Trek franchise I would rank lower (not counting animated series of STD). The show doesn't hold up by any modern standards, whereas 90s Trek series are actually still watchable and enjoyable.

ENT tried hard to do something different but it was a failure. Literally the only good episodes were towards the end of the last season when it had already been cancelled.

Sisko was boring and a really bland captain. There were some great other characters though. Kai Winn for example was probably the best villain in any Trek.

I found Sisko to be the better than Picard (in terms of character morality/ decision making etc) but when it comes to Patrick Stewart's Shakespearean training vs the overacting of mad Avery Brooks, Patrick easily had the best performance in all of Trek.

theres a rawness to tos that i really enjoy. i will grant you that there are episodes of voyager i like.

i dont rate series by the number of bad episodes though, but by their best episodes. tos has episodes like balance of terror, which to me capture star trek and what i like about star trek so perfectly, especially the drama.

voyager has episodes that i enjoy, but i cant really pick one out and be like 'yeah thats my favorite' the way i can with balance of terror, or mirror mirror, or amok time.

i really feel attached to the tos characters, but with voyager i could never really get attached to anyone but janeway, who was the only interesting character to me.

To be fair. I've never actually watched TOS. I grew up on Next Gen then Voyager. It wasn't until just a few years ago that I sat down and watched DS9. Up until that point I just assumed it was crap because they were 'stuck on a station the whole time'. But then when I watched it, it was like getting brand new Star Trek for the first time in over a decade, and it turned out to be my favorite show. Maybe I'll give TOS a chance, but it's just really hard for me to get over that fucking outdated aesthetic.

i actually felt the same way, but was going to rewatch all of tng, so i thought id go through tos before i did, because its on netflix, and you get used to it pretty quickly.

if you want you can start out by looking up the top 3 episodes or whatever and watching one. kirks just like a really cool character, especially season 1 kirk.
