7 was worse than 8. Just as rushed but with a shitty overall plot. At least 8 has GRRM ideas like Mad Dany. 7 has the fucking retarded misson beyond the wall

Pick any of seasons 1-4, I loved them all.

Actually liking season 8 now because it has pissed so many people off. Get fucked normies and autists. Preferred it over 5 and 7 despite it being more rushed and having the worst writing.

Attached: seasons.png (321x685, 200K)

8 is shit because 7 was shit. There was no way to save it

Season 4 was kino all around, specially since it focused so much on the best characters in the series (Lannisters)

This. People who think 8 is the worst need to rewatch 7. Only good part of that season is Glodroad battle and Maester Jim Broadbent

1=2>4>3>6>7>8
honestly can't remember what the fuck even was in 5 and I watched it twice

I think everyone agrees that littlefingers death was shit.

I actually thought the ending would be much worse after watching season 7. I thought that Jon and Dany would win and rule together.
Also season 8 gave us a great battle in episode 3 (people are forgetting how great it was because of all the stupidity) and episode 5 was a visual feast if nothing else.

3>1>4>2>first half of 5>finale

I didn’t watch the 2nd half of season 5, only saw 1 episode of 6, didn’t see any of 7, and only saw the finale of 8. Take that as you will.

So many shit things like:

- Stannis going full retard
- Dany and boring plot. Sir Barriston has a shit death
- bad poosay
- the high sparrow

You probably erased this from your memory and with good reason.

Also Ayra with the faceless men.

Best part of the season was Hardhome and 'For the watch.'

Snakes too?

I thought the sparrows were entirely in 6
must have been trying to subconsciously separate the only decent part you know, before they get blown out with every other of cerci's problems as if they never existed from the rest

That is all.

And that one good part led to fucking nothing in the end.

1>2>3>4>6>5>piss>7>shit>8

You had to turn your brain off completely in order to watch it. Nothing made sense about Tyrion wanting to kill Dany. How are we supposed to believe that Dany massacring all those people is unacceptable to Tyrion in a world where that is just reality of conquest and war?

It's 1 = 2 = 3 > 4 > 6 > 7 > 5 > 8.

Honestly.

1 > 2 > 3 > 4 > 8 > 5 > 7 > 6

1 has the best characters (King Robert, Ned, Drogo.

Nearly wanted to drop the show entirely after season 4. At least 8 and 7 had great action sequences.

what season 8?

Attached: lord trump and his bannermen awoo and kek.jpg (662x371, 55K)

Season 1 is the only true adaptation. It was the only GoT season that can be called "great".

Seasons 2 and 3 are comparable. D&D had already bought into their own hype and were making unnecessary and nonsensical changes that laid the foundation for the clusterfuck that was to come. Season 2 had one of the best episodes in the show's history (Blackwater) while season 3 was more consistent throughout.

After that, we really get into the sludge.

Season 4 gets a lot of praise but by then you could go an entire episode without any book dialogue. It was inferior and slipping fast. The Tyrion-Jaime scene talking about their cousin before the trial is the worst writing the show has ever put out, and that is saying something.

Season 6 and 4 are close. I actually think season 6 is more consistent throughout even though we're getting into fan fiction now. It didn't overreach and showed that D&D could put together a competent season within a narrow framework.

Season 7 is simple, poorly written, but has one stellar sequence (loot train robbery). It also has a phenomenal scene as the snows fall on King's Landing (of course season 8 would make this scene essentially meaningless).

Season 8 was brutal, no doubt. Episode 1 was lazy fan service. Episode 2 was actually tightly written (Cogman, the only competent writer on the staff, did the episode). From that point onward the only plus is the burning of King's Landing, which was surprisingly well done (though Dany's "break" was incoherent).

Season 5 is special because it shows the depths of D&D's incompetence. There was still plenty of book content to draw upon, but the hacks went their own direction and in almost every instance failed miserably. The mishandled intrigue in Meereen, Sansa's dropped Vale story line in favour of making her Ramsay's plaything, Stannis butchered (which was nothing new). And of course there is the Dorne plot, a vulgar abomination.

>season 4
>bad

Attached: tenor.gif (360x346, 170K)

the only answer is

1>2>3>4>5>6>8>7

>the burning of King's Landing, which was surprisingly well done

The bells of King's Landing are never used to signal surrender, as established in a previous season.

Golden Company stood outside the walls and got massacred despite all the buildup.

The scorpions were suddenly useless despite previous effectiveness, why did Daenerys even need an army?

Dragonfire suddenly starts blasting brick apart like TNT(but only when plot convenient) because dumb and dumber didn't want to do CGI catapults or a battering ram scene.

It was terrible, user. All of the so-called Season 8 was terrible.

>everyone no matter how retarded sees how shit 8 is
>pretend it was good and toe the company line to be an "independent thinker" with unique HBO TM brand Individuality TM

I agree though that season 7 and some other parts of earlier seasons were as bad/worse than season 8 overall though. It was horrible but lots of earlier parts were. Dorne, the stupid wight catching quest, the LF fakeout infighting plot, Stannis' entire end, Ramsay Sue and his super 20 dudes and dogs in general, the way the Faceless arc was botched. Full of awful shit.

Exactly how I feel. Well done sir!

Official GoT Ranking:
1 = 2 = 3 > 6 > 4 >>> 8(2nd half) > 5 >>>>> 7 >>>>>>>>> 8(1st half)

s1: 2/10 (novelty bonus, midge is kinda cool)
s7 and s8: 0/10
everything else (including the books): 1/10

the books only escape 0/10 status because they're easier to ignore.

>Tyrion-Jaime scene talking about their cousin before the trial is the worst writing
was that the stuff with the smashing beetles? i remember watching that scene and thinking the whole time about how the showrunners were apparently dismayed they couldn't possibly find a way to include the Renly's peach segment. what a fucking joke!

1>3>4>2>>>>6>7>>>>>>>

Unironically agree.

Based

Attached: 1539501797783.png (491x451, 66K)

Season 8 was supposed to give the story a conclusion. Instead, it made everyone retarded and so far out of character they might as well be in Sothryos. And what they did with the entire main storyline of the show, the white walkers, the prophecies, the ancient past returning.

By making Season 8 suck in the way it did, they retroactively made every other season worse, because now, unless you only watch the book compatible parts, you will watch it all knowing it was all for nothing.

I remember that beetles shit going on and on. I remember thinking it was lazy bad filler writing to make up screentime.

>Yeah, Yara and Shirtless Ramsey battle was pure kino. People forget that this was the moment the show jumped the shark.

Yeah not even getting into Daenerys herself not a single thing that happened made sense and none of the characters' actions made sense. I mean we've already talked about the scorpions at length but:

No one considers using Arya in a plan to assassinate Cersei she goes herself with one line from the Hound she gives up on her motivations forever the Hound wasn't mostly driven by vengeance Mountain was fucked anyway in city blowing up Cleganebowl shouldn't have happened the Mountain is an obedient zombie suddenly he kills his creator and abandons Cersei for no reason Cersei just stands there instead of escaping Euron pops up just in time to die Gold Company does nothing 5 buildings land right on Arya only she and for some fucking reason a horse survive Northerners spend time raping while the city around them is fucking blowing up North doesn't listen to Jon I thought they loved him Tyrion sends his brother to his certain death trying to do something that never works Varys dies shouting about treason and killing someone instead of being stealthy and us instantly forgotten by everyone Tyrion Jon no one talks about Dany's bad state or how she was almost assassinated and there's more.

>best characters in the series (Lannisters)
"No!"
Unless you meant purely in terms of actor-prowess

1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 0

The easy answer is just 1 > 2 > 3 > 4 >5 > 6 > 7 > 8 because as the show went on the writing got worse in almost a linear fashion, if we're going by character interaction, acting, dialogue, and the general level of coherence in the plot it's the same. Yet when you look at it from a production standpoint season 1 is really cheap and sloppy compared to the others, the sets, the effect, the costumes, the battles they're all rather sub-par it doesn't deliver the spectacle and technical expertise you see in later seasons. Is it fair to ignore all the talent and hardword of all those crews that when into making Season 2's Blackwater, Season 5's Hardhome, Season 6's Battle of the Bastards, Season 7's Battle of the Goldroad. All these later seasons had progressively more technically demanding, complex and visually impressive battles, sure the writing surrounding them was weaker and weaker as the season went on but you still can't deny that oner of Jon amidst the chaos isn't incredibly impressive for a TV production, you can put that up against most Hollywood movies and it won't pale in comparison. Then again can we really forgive just how terrible all the dialogue got, all the characters becoming self parodies of themselves, and all the oversimplifcation and nonsensical handwaving leading up to and directly following those moments?

I guess if you're going by "sum total enjoyment" and you're weighing all elements and factors evenly it'd probably look something 3 > 4 > 6 > 2 > 1 > 8 > 7 > 5 but I think the true answer is somewhere between those to extremes because you can't look at these things in a bubble, it's the total work and the fact that the previous seasons were so much better written weighs on your mind as you're experiencing the new ones.

have cope sex

THIS.

Agreed. S7 had S8 quality writing but with even more retarded plot lines. S8 was bad, but there wasn't anything as insulting as having "The Gang Captures a Wight" be the season climax.

Like I said user Dany's "break" was incoherent. That included the use of the bells. I ran out of room unfortunately.

Precisely. Rumour has it that D&D were taking shots at Orson Scott Card who called them out for being hacks. Guess Orson had the last laugh.

1>2=3>4>7>8>>>>>Season one has some of the best actors in the series, and most of it's issues are forgivable stuff for a first season of a new HBO show trying to get an audience like spoonfeeding the viewers at times or some of the more gratuitous sex scenes. Seasons 2 and 3 are both very good and close behind 1. Most of season 4 is of the same quality or better, but a few shitty scenes really drag it down below the previous 3 seasons. Seasons 6-8 are just a constant slide into shittier and shittier everything. Season 5 is by far the worst period though, everything wrong with the later seasons started with 5. Killing of Stannis, his family and his whole army in like 10 minutes of screentime because they couldn't be assed to actually conclude or continue his plotline, Littlefinger's plan to get Sansa raped, it just goes on and on. The absolute worst part of it all is Dorne though, Dorne is the single worst arc in the entire show, and it alone is enough to make season 5 the worst season.

>jesus christ this is proof that this dumb site will go against ANY popular opinion
It's not uncommon for people to be hostile to the new, give it a few years and people start to sober up and evaluate thing more evenly. Season 8 for all its flaws was not the worst season.

i would have killed everyone on this board including myself get this ending

4>3>1>2>6>5>7>8

3=4>1=2>6>7>5=8

4>3>1>6>2>5>8>7

1>4>2=3>5>6>8>7

Search your feelings, you KNOW it to be true.

At least we all can agree that season 6 was the best season of all right?

1>3>4=2 >>>>> 8 >>>>>>>>> 6 >>>> 7 >>>>>>>>>> 5

Except the whole topic have been talked about and the end result is that the 3 episodes "people" hate so much are actually one of the best episodes we got since season 6, episode 3 of S8 was the worst shit ever and "people" praised it as one of the best, are you going to praise it too? That user is totally rigth and i'm glad is so easy to spot retards.

s8 was entertaining just for all the butthurt, the show has been a disaster since s5 and the only good episode we have had since s5 is hardhome. if you were still getting mad at the ridiculousness and fast pace of the plot in s8 then you just simply having been paying attention at all because its all been rushed to shit since s5.

Why is season 8 superior to season 7? They're basically on equal footing. Incoherent plotting, shit characterization, total disregard for the scale of the setting. At least season 7 had a decent ending.

people still thought the show was good in s7, it wasn't, it was terrible. s8 is better because it pissed off all the total retards who thought s7 was good.

>He thinks Hardhome is superior to The Winds of Winter

Have sex

That poster is better than all of season 8 and would've made more sense as an ending.

But, that was the ending.

Best ep of the show desu, better than rains of castamere, baelor, blackwater, and mountain and viper, deal with it desu desu desu senpai desu

Shut up nigger

2>1>3>4>5>8>6>7

neither is superior to each other, both were terrible. last three seasons were the worst and putting them order doesn't really matter.

I think that user is angry that people praised 7 that was total shit and that the same people are shitting on 8 that had at lest a few cool moments, hell these people even rated this season highly until episode 3, what the fuck.

agreed but season 8 would have been much better with more filler like that

Attached: sansa1488.jpg (1024x683, 149K)

Nah he's right. Season 8 was shit but Season 7 was worse. At least Season 8 was funny in its awfulness. Season 7 was just shit and boring on top of that.

Season 4 gets the praise because it had some of the best moments from the books. Tywin's death, Tyrion's trial, Oberyn vs the Mountain, Joffrey death, Stannis arriving at the Wall.

It also had some terrible shit too though like you said, Jaime and Tyrion dialog, removing the Tysha plot from the books, Shirtless Ramsay vs Yara.

absolutely correct

1>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

You get the idea

>these are some of the most famous lines from ASOIAF
they aren't though, i'm not going to pretend ASOIAF doesn't have its moments of terrible prose and cringey lines but it also had some genuinely good ones.

1>4>2=3

I don't care about the rest

Anybody who thinks 8 is the worst season obviously never watched S5 when it aired. The series was boarderline dropable for the first 7.5 episodes and was saved solely by a single action scene.
The writing in s8 may have been just as mediocre but at least it wasn't downright boring

3>2>1>4>8>6>7

1>3>4>2>6>5>8>7

Attached: 23yuey46t9721[2].jpg (615x767, 82K)

Fuck off. s7 was still worse

3>4>1>2>6>8>5>7

1 > 2 > 3 > 4 > 5 > 6 > 7 > 8

Also everything past season 4 is actually unwatchable. If you like Battle of Bastards or other meme episodes you should be legally considered an NPC

Battle of the Bastards was entertaining to watch in a vacuum even if the writing was shit.

this desu senpai. Show started to show cracks in S5, S6 had enough decent moments to where it wasn't complete shit, and S7 was just terrible. Spoils of War was a decent battle though.

>started to show cracks in S5

I think you mean split down the middle and sink Titanic style but sure you can call it "cracks"

I mean S7 was just downright trash, beyond the wall was the wrost action centric episode of the entire show. Field of fire was good but everything else was people acting like retards, Mary Seuron teleporting over the map with no explanation and absolutely forgettable dialogue
S8 actually has similar problems to 7 but is slightly better in almost every aspect.

1>3>2>4>6>7>8>5

Everything past season 4 is on the same "it's literally made for retards" tier

I'm surprised so many Game of Thrones normies spilled their onions glasses in rage because The Long Night was shit and had shitty resolutions to plot lines and the battle tactics were retarded and had deus ex machina. Meanwhile in season 5, Battle of the Bastards did the exact same thing, possibly worse too. I'm glad season 8 was so bad to punish all the brainlets that were still giving it a chance.

It had cracks as early as S2, S5 is when those cracks tore the show apart.

Season 4 had that conversation between Tyrion and Oberyn though, the only moment of the series that actually made me cry.

Yeah, that's also one of the better quotes from the books too. Like I said S4 has some of the best scenes from the books, but also has some atrocious shit.

His opposite sits on the throne. I'm finding hilarious people thought Jon was important when Bran is like the embodimient of light and life and the opposite of the super villain.

4 > 1 > 3 > 6 > 8 > 7 > 2 > 5

have sex

4>3>1>2>5>6>7>8

Agreed, although I would argue that Oberyn vs the Mountain was badly mishandled. It had about a thousand cuts and eliminated the strategy of the battle. It turned the Viper into Darth Maul and the Mountain into an uncoordinated beefcake. Sad because Bronn vs Ser Vardis was translated very well.

It is admittedly a great scene. Naturally it is ripped directly from the book.

1,2,3 ...: the rest
