>2 off quads
Stop it now Stannis, if you don't you'll use up all the time you have left on this shitty show

It is the season that everything went to shit. There were a couple of questionable changes like Jaime raping Cersei, Talisa being from Volantis, Brieanne fighting the Hound and then somehow neither him nor Arya, Shae being the love interest instead of Tysha (and played by an awful "actress") but season 5 is where everything truly became incoherent, and never really recovered.

In a perfect world, this season would need to be 2 seasons, and a bunch of characters should have been established in seasons 1-4.
Major problems with season 5, in and of itself are of course:
1) Sansa`s regression the to victim status,
2) Mishandling of Stannis` character
3) Brienne having no story.
4) Absolutely retarded dronish plot
5) Boring House of the Undying
6) Unfocused and ultimately pointless Mereen plot

The only good thing about season 5 was probably Hardhome and Cersei`s storyline. But even with the latter, there are some elements that are just dumb, like Lancel showing up in the first episode, but him telling on Cersei is somehow is a big twist, and Faith militant more focused on Loras being gay and his fucking birthmark than Queen`s infidelity

Here`s how I would rewrite this season:

SHHHH! Be quiet. You'll wake the queen.

>Dorne always wanted to stay independent
>The Iron Isles joined Dany to get independence
>The Reach is run by a sellsword so he'll probably rebel if there's a better offer.
>The Riverlands is run by a man that wanted to become king
>Storm's End is run by the legitimized bastard of a former king.
>The North is an independent kingdom now
>The Vale is in an alliance with the North
>The Westerlands is run by Tyrion I guess, and given his case of the stupids I'm sure they'll be fine...
So uh yeah... How long until this new government fails and the Crownlands get fucked?

) The North, Sansa, Ramsay, Brianne.

Sansa, unlike her book counterpart, has a different dynamic with Petyr. She basically saved him in the previous season, and now she is almost like a partner. Littlefinger tries to convince her to stay in the Vale and marry Robin, but she (herself, on her own volition) comes with a plan to pretend to marry Ramsay Bolton. Petyr thinks it is dangerous and tells her about the atrocities that Ramsay has committed and makes an attempt to force her to stay using the lords of the Vale (who are aware of her identity by now) however she threatens Petyr to reveal all his conspiracies and their involvement tin Lysa`s death. Instead, she convinces him to arrange the marriage.

Frey forces arrive at Winterfell, to Ramsay`s displeasure. He begins to grow paranoid that his father will cast him aside the second a true heir is born to him. Roose, however, informs him that he`d found him a bride to solidify his claim on Winterfell

Sansa, passing as Arya travels to Moat Cailin, with Petyr Baelish. She has doubts, and almost wants to turn back, but Petyr now gives her support. There she is given to the Boltons.

Littlefinger continues his schemes in the Vale using his image of "Savior of Sansa Stark" among lords of the Vale, preparing for war, stockpiling grain and lending money he embezzled from the crown.

Reek reveals to Ramsay that she is actually Sansa. However, she begins to successfully manipulate Ramsay, showing pleasure in his cruelties, enjoying torturing Theon, and playing on his fears that Roose will disinherit him. She also builds trust with other Northern lords and slowly conspires with them.

Brienne, who`d followed Sansa and Petyr to the North, attempts to save Sansa, but Sansa herself thwarts this escape attempt. She and Podrick are captured and tortured.

I dropped the show partway through season 5 because I never saw Hardhome, for example. I'm just here enjoying the shitstorm I predicted years ago.

Sansa cleverly thinks of a plan to assassinate Stannis, by sending Brienne with a fake Arya, to Stannis`s camp. This would be a suicide, but Ramsay tortures Podrick and threatens to flay him if Brianne refuses. Secretly, Sansa tasks Brienne to cooperate with Stannis.

Sansa conspires with Umbers and Manderlys. They plan to create a conflict with Freys, forcing Roose to send all of them out from the castle. She plans to get rid of as much of Roose and Ramsay supporters as possible before attempting to kill them. She puts the idea of personally proving his worth on the Battlefield to Ramsay.

Sansa finds out that Ramsay flayed Podrick, despite Brienne doing as she was bid.

Theon admits to Sansa that both Rickon and Bran are alive.

Roose receives the news that Stannis is dead. Ramsay is eager to lead the charge. During the breakfast, northerners fight with freys, this Forcing Roose to send them out to fight Stannis. Ramsay rides out with Bolton's cavalry, Northerners and Freys to fight Stannis.

2) Stannis

He leaves Shireen, Selyse, and Melisandre at the wall with a group of Queen`s Men.

He burns multiple people on his way to Winterfell.

He makes a camp near the village on the Lake, where he takes a defensive position. Brianne arrives with a Fake Arya. She wants to kill him, initially but decides that Stannis would be lesser of two evils, and reveals that she was sent to kill him and that Roose has a spy in his camp. Stannis makes a plan to play along and stages his "death". Davos formally takes over and orders the troops to take a defensive position on the lake, preparing for battle.

Here we can actually decide whether or not Stannis wins in the next season, without too much damage to the plot:

If we decide that he wins, he simply successfully destroys all the enemy forces in a trap and takes Winterfell. if not, he deals heavy damage and thus leaves Ramsay and Roose weak, allowing Sansa to take over and kill both of them in a coup.

3) Dorne, Myrcella, Trystane, Doran, sand sneks:

In the Water Gardens, Ellaria demands from Doran to take action against the Lannisters. She demands to break the betrothal of Myrcella and Trystane and declare war. Doran dismisses her and orders the arrest of Elaria.

Myrcella and Trystane are traveling to Lemonwood. They are accompanied by Tyene Sand, Arys Oakheart, and Gerold Dayne,a friend of Trystane.

Myrcella and Trystane discuss Oberyn, and his and Tywin`s deaths. Myrcella, while staying in Dorne had become quite repulsed by her Lannister side of the family and expresses no pity about her grandfather. Trystane says he would not go to war, and Elia`s death is avenged if Mountains is in fact dead. However, he expresses no desire to call Tommen king. Tyene is having an affair with Arys Oakheart.

Ellaria is visited in prison by her daughter Nymeria Sand, castellan of Sunspear. She offers her an idea of a coupé against Doran and plot to crown Myrcella as Queen, thus going into open rebellion with the Crown. She reveals she`d been conspiring to depose Doran for months now, and a lot of Dornish lords are displeased with Doran in general. Trystane`s trip to Lemonwood, was in fact organized by Nymeria.

In Lemonwood, Myrcella sneaks past Arys Oaksheart to sleep with Trystane. They obviously love each other. They talk about Dornish culture and traditions, and Myrcella thinks of herself as a smarter queen than Tommen.

Trystane and Myrcella are at a feast hosted by Andrey Dalt. A toast to the new king is made, but most of the guests refuse to drink.

Turn your brain off

I'll go with the shitty Others wrap up for shittest thing. If Winterfell had a very short lived cockroach infestation Arya handled with some Raid the impact would feel the same.

Dany will certainly be the one to kill him. She's called the slayer of lies at one point and Aegon is the paper dragon cheered on by the masses. If Aegon dies it means Dany has come to Westeros.

It was pretty good although it could have been much better

based and ofthenightpilled

Utilize side characters, stick to the books, cut anything unnecessary, refine the dialog and pronounce the important developments, character deaths should feel deserved, satisfying or meaningful in other ways, keep the complexity of every character and political faction alive, cleverly use their abilities to bring in creative solutions and subvert fantasy tropes, illuminate further on the White Walkers and reduce and improve Daenerys storyline, keep the political kino well-written.

Felt more emotion for a CGI dragon than any other characters this season.

Can we all admit last episode was basically a Northern conspiracy to take over everything?

Think about it

Sansa - Stark
Bran - Stark
Tyrion - Married to a Stark
Jon - Stark

All ruling all of westeros, including behind the wall

Attached: 1558542317536.png (556x712, 22K)

>he sent Barristan Selmy to Dany
Selmy would not have known about fAegon, and would have drawn attention to him.

The key point I was making is that Varys boosting Dany isn't the same thing necessarily as "supporting" her. The pretence of the fAegon plot as it appears based on current knowledge is that Dany and Viserys were a distraction to keep the Westerosi usurpers thinking they're powerless children on the other side of the world, while (f)Aegon trains to be king and assembles a massive army of elite mercenaries.

After that, it becomes a question of interpretation depending on whether one believes fAegon is real, whether Dany and Viserys are real, and which of them Varys and co. initially wanted to put on the Iron Throne.
The most likely options are, fAegon is fake, meant to put a Blackfyre or an Essosi commoner puppet on the throne, or fAegon is real, and Dany having more chance than none of retaking the throne by herself is an accident.

After you take your pick as to what each Targ wannabe's status is, the remaining loose questions inform the intentions of the conspirators, again depending in significance on what you believe about who the pretenders are:
>red door: if Dorne is in on Varys' plan, it's more likely that fAegon is real because the Dornish cared about their nephew
>Khal marriage: if fAegon is fake, then it was a plot to kill Viserys and get Dany stuck in dosh khaleen
There's probably others but I'm not a major theory buff, those are what comes to my mind.

>We know he got at least slightly burned
>We know he didnt get a dragon
He's dead.

>Sansa killed the one person who saved her retarded ass from both the undead and Cersei.
literally what are you talking about. Sansa didn't kill Dany and when did Dany save Sansa from Cersei anyway?

Hypothetically speaking, would /got/ still love Myrcella if she was inflicted with terrible scarring?

Attached: Myrcella_scar.jpg (300x235, 14K)

Gerold and Trystane train together and discuss that Houses Santigar and Dalt are clearly displeased with Doran. News of Elaria`s arrest reaches Lemonwood. Trystane, who`d always had good relations with Elaria is enraged. He wants to go back immediately but Gerold tells him to gather support among the lords first, as Doran might imprison him as well.

Trystane and Myrcella meet with lords and basically start a rebellion with houses Dolt, Lemonwood and Santigar backing them. Myrcella steps out and declares her intention to be the Queen.

Arys Oakheart is torn between his duty to his king and love for Tyene and Myrcella. He submits to his new queen.

Trystane and Myrcella return, and receive the news from Nymeria that the guards in Water Gardens will stand behind Trystane.

Trystane is set to travel to Water gardens, but before he leaves, Nymeria, Tyene, and Gerold, and others turn on him arrest him and Myrcella, with Areo Hoath, killing Arys Oakheart Trystane is locked in a tower. Doran (who turns out to be in sunspear) meets with him and tells him that this coup was to rid out unloyal lords and break the betrothal with myrcella. Trystane is furious, as he liked Myrcella very much. Doran instead informs him that he will travel to meereen to purpose to Daenerys with Obara Sand and Gerod Dayne.

It's hard to be afraid of and root against elves, dude.

I agree with that, lad. Dany will kill him after she rescues him from a siege in Storms End.

I would love her twice as much.

why didnt he eat her bros

5) King`s Landing

Cersei does not figure out that Jaime freed Tryion.

Move Lancel`s reveal to the end of the Season, otherwise, there is no surprise that he rated Cersei out, remove Loras`s birthmark idiocy, and bring back the crown being in debt to the faith as an additional reason to arm faith.
Cersei`s love for her children is slowly revealed more as a vessel for her power. She grows to despise Jaime, who takes a skeptical side and does not aide her in her schemes.

Dragon Stone and Storm`s End are both mentioned to being held by Stannis` supporters, and Cersei tries to send Tyrell`s powers to besiege them.

Bronn is mentioned to have named the bastard son of Lollys Tyrion, driving Cersei mad. (just a funny bit, they should have kept it in)

Jaime is sent to Dorne one episode before Cersei is arrested, after having multiple fights and disagreements with Cersei. Bronn does not go with him.
6) Arya in Braavos

Arya only appears in the first episode and for the rest of the season, she is absent and implied to be training. The scene with her killing Merryn Trant should be moved as an opening for season 6.

But I thought we were all in agreement that the High Sparrow was based?

I predict the downfall of Brandon the Broken within 10 years, but he will not be beaten by any conspiracy or battle-plans, because he can see that stuff while it is being planned.

Instead, a silent servant who grows unhappy about the rule will kill him.

Jesus christ the spacing in this general is hurting my eyes
plz stop

If they get defeated at Winterfell in the books too I'll be incredibly disappointed. I at least wanted a desperate defense at Moat Cailin (which fails at great cost as the swamps freeze, zombie alligators eat the scouts and it was never built to defend attacks from the north). The army of the dead should at least reach the Riverlands with the Trident freezing over. If they really end up having the final battle at Winterfell, less than 5% of the population of Westeros was affected by this "apocalyptic" event. No one down south will even believe there was an army of the dead.
But a battle to defeat the Others and their wight army is patently ridiculous too. They should be a force that is impossible to defeat by military means or by stupid Skyrim stealth crit builds. I would much rather prefer a pact, uneasy peace and a retreat back north as they get what they wanted or something.

That aside TWOW will almost certainly never come out and ADOS is definitely not getting released.

7) Mereen, Daenerys, Tyrion.

Dany faces 4 major problems - Mereen is broken and no noble families will lend her the money, former slaves are starving, she can`t control her dragons, and Sons of the Harpy are killing people.

Add character of Skahaz ( Mosador can actually take the similar function) either a former slave or minor noble who leads the faction fully supporting Dany. He constantly advocates for her to be ruthless and tear down old traditions. He uses Sons of the Harpy threat to get more money for his militia.

Tyrion travels with Strong Belwas to Volantis, where he sees huge following of Daenerys as Azor Ahai. Overall, Volantis is about to explode with slaves worthshipping Daenerys, and Nobles hiding behidn the Black Wall. Later, Tyrion is kidnapped by Jorah.

Jorah and Tryion travel on a regular ship (Mereen is not at war right now, unlike in the books. There is no reason for Jorah to travel on a small ass boat through Valyria) but they are beset by pirates and captured.

Tyrion is met by Illyrio Mopatis (recast him, if needed, or reveal that the Mopatis from the first season was a mummer to keep real magister safe). Tyrion is offered to go and meet Daenerys.

Daenerys increases the pressure on the nobles. She demands payments for each of the attacks that harpys make. Skahaz tortures his prisoners with approval of Daenerys and gets confessions from people. Barristan expresses his concern with those methods and advises Daenerys to be merciful.

Hizdar offers to feed her starving freed slaves in exchange for opening fighting pits. Daenerys decides to marry him.

Tyrion and Jorah are sold to the fighting pits in mereen.

During the first visit in the pits, Tyrion and Jorah reveal themselves.

Nobody gives a shit about your opinion

This isn't really GOT related but I just watched the first LOTR film for the first time. It was truly fantasy kino. I was surprised at how emotional it could be at times too. I hadn't watched the films yet even though I knew of their reputation and GOT is sometimes compared to LOTR and certainly GRRM to Tolkien so that was even more reason to watch it. Surely there are other fans of Tolkien among the fans of GOT, yes?

>massive army of elite mercenaries.
>the Golden Company Army only
>massive
lmao, and that wasn't even Varys' or Illyrio's doing.
The thing is, the three heads of the dragon are Jon, Dany and Tyrion. Those are the ones the whole story is focused on. I'd bet that the fatman didn't even think on including fAegon until book 2 was finished, and he only included him because he needed a pawn for Dany to get mad.

Why is he naked?

Wasn't really attracted to Dany until she turned into a Sith Lord. Her reign of madness was far too short. They should have kept that going for a while. Let her torture and step on some people. I wanted to indulge in her going full villain. Not even one maniacal laugh.

What a waste?

Tyrion is kept as an advisor and finds common grounds with Hizdar. He recommends financial policies that favor former slave owners, and makes an idea to introduce "temporary slave contracts".

While this stimulates the economy it causes a riot while Daenerys is in the fighting pits with Hizdar, and Barristan among the former slaves, who see this as a setback. During the riot, Barristan is killed, and Drogon and begins rampaging through the city. The rioters disperse, however Daenerys, devastated by the death of Barristan and frustrated by her inability to control Mereen, has an epiphany, and takes the whip and beats Drogon into submission. Her breathes fire on her, but she is unaffected. She climbs on top of him and flies away in ecstasy.

Hizdar quickly takes over and sends Jorah and Daenerys bloodriders to find her. Tyrion is trying his best to help Hizdar to keep control.

Meanwhile Mosador/Skahaz finds Daario and plans a coup.

LOTR films are unsurpassed masterpieces and I doubt there will ever be a fantasy epic to surpass them, at least in our lifetime. Maybe in the year 2540 a singularity-tier AI purpose built to create the greatest full immersion VR fantasy experience ever will finally surpass it, but not before.

He will, after fleeing from King's Landing.

He's well-aware that not everybody will be fine with an elective monarchy, the new small council and a crippled Stark without personality as king.
He likely only means to fulfill his magic quests, such as finding Drogon and paving the way for certain things to happen.

>Bessie was in the threads the whole time reading everything
Absolute masterful twist.

>She indirectly did by revealing Jon's parentage to everyone

Uhh that makes no sense. If your logic is that Sansa told people about his heritage, then wasn't it really BRAN who killed Dany by even telling Jon in the first place? And it was BRAN who told Sansa too, iirc.

If it wasn't for Dany the dead would still be stuck beyond the Wall

to be fair, arya wants to kill almost every female character she has a scene with

season 1 memes in general. but they're now dead, forgotten.

Yes, if you can see everything in the past and anything you want in the present you can kinda predict what will happen in the future. I don't think he knew he was going to be crowned, he was just expecting it.

Did you think it was possible for him to be more important than Bran, Daenerys, Jon or Tyrion? No? Then what's your fucking point? According to the TV show, they're the only ones who mattered in the end. Did you not see how Theon died? Was he important?

Just according to Keikaku

accurate and BASED!

They are truly deserving of such praise, at least of what I have seen. I am excited to watch the next two. Perhaps Game of Thrones could have been (or are they?) on the same level to them as a TV show, but too many poor decisions were made. The show, certainly in its early seasons, is still some of the best fantasy we have seen, even if it falls short of LOTR.

>I remember "moon is no egg" and "EEEEEGGG" but not much else.
That were the only ones, they're too classic for newfags to enjoy.

I finally checked out Preston's channel, how can anyone stand to watch an entire video of his with that autistic voice acting and characters he plays?

Actually, I think they already announced some prequel.
But no sequels that i know of.

And it doesn't matter either way, because D&D are leaving to direct the new Star Wars movies.
So whatver sequel is being produced, won't be part of the official D&D canon

>But no sequels that i know of.

Not yet, but I would be shocked if they don't.

Game of Thrones seasons 1-4 were getting close but it came crashing down afterwards. LOTR has a lot more heart and soul though, it's not just a cynical backstabbing train.

Attached: are_you_implying.jpg (960x851, 144K)

>won't be part of the official D&D canon

So it will be good?

It was a waste. D&D suddenly needed her to be a threat on the same level as Night King I guess to fit the Robert Frost poem

>Some say the world will end in fire,
>Some say in ice.
>From what I’ve tasted of desire
>I hold with those who favor fire.
>But if it had to perish twice,
>I think I know enough of hate
>To say that for destruction ice
>Is also great
>And would suffice.

So Dany suddenly needed to try to burn and "break" the wheel everyone around the world just like the Night King was gonna try to kill everyone around the world. Except they wanted to wrap this up in only 6 episodes which is why it had to come out of nowhere and didn't last long. Had Dany literally ever said jackshit about conquering the whole world before this?

bro, winter ended didn't you see the plants sprouting near the wall
yeah winter only lasted like 3 months real fucking long night am i right

Prepare to be shocked? I don't see any of the original cast coming back at this point.

Would Jon have been ok with Dany's plan to take over the world if she didn't kill everyone in King's Landing?

Attached: 1558481755107.png (716x927, 500K)

It's massive in terms of what a landless pretender and possible fake can muster. It's massive in terms of the sheer number of elite multi-generational professional officers it contains. And it's massive in terms of the number of true soldiers any hostile Westerosi faction can muster save Stannis' still not arrived 20,000 mercenaries, who are more the Iron Bank's mercenaries.
>lmao, and that wasn't even Varys' or Illyrio's doing.
JonCon is part of their conspiracy, or at the very least a pawn.

>The thing is, the three heads of the dragon are Jon, Dany and Tyrion.
You just posted cringe bro. It's not confirmed that prophecy and destiny are real, and assuming they are, it's still an open question whether Jon has any bearing on it. Tyrion certainly doesn't have anything to do with being a secret Targ, let alone the one who rides a dragon. He can't even ride a horse without training wheels.

How many times did Dany and Jon fuck? Was it twice?

If you go back to when he started his "season watch", he more or less made those characters up to take the piss out of season 6 because of how much season 5 pissed him off after doing a serious recapping with no voices and not much overt piss-taking.
It's not an autistic forced meme he does for no reason; they came about out of genuine organic feeling, and the lore he's developed for them has been funny and served to mock the show.

It was essentially annulled through the marriage with Ramsay, which was actually consumed.

It was also in front of the Old Gods, who only allow you to have one spouse, which means that Sansa could not possibly have been married to Tyrion at that time.

Presumably more than twice including them sailing north, but the whole thing was so fucking rushed that watching S7-8 really does make it seem like it only happened twice.

>Jon, Sansa broke her promise in front of a heart tree, drove your waifu mad and forced you to kill her. I think you need to make Sansa pay for her crimes
>No I’m not doing this to sow chaos in the North and bring them back into the fold
>Just make sure she gets raped before you kill her. It doesn’t have to be you, you can get your friend Tormund to do it, that would be fun to wat- I mean a fitting punishment for her crime

>Game of Thrones seasons 1-4 were getting close but it came crashing down afterwards.
I agree, though season 6 was almost as good as the first four. The others fall way behind that mark though.
>LOTR has a lot more heart and soul though, it's not just a cynical backstabbing train.
This was refreshing to see in LOTR after watching all of GOT. There is a real sense of friendship and comraderie between the characters in the Fellowship, and as I stated plenty of emotional moments that show how much they care for each other. GOT handled emotion well too between many characters, but often im different contexts or with more negative feelings. The first scene of Gandalf returning to the Shire and meeting Frodo sets the tone well with how happy they are to be in each other's company. It is quite wholesome despite the evil that also exists in Middle-Earth.

Boat ride takes a while, so probably a few times there. No more after that though

>t the one white walker with the beard and long white hair,
the one that got killed by Jon Snow?

It's because Jon insulted her Valyrian culture by not having incest with her.

>a two minute video of crudely and quickly chopped scenes from the battle interspersed with footage from other episodes in entirely different locations is somehow more kino than the hour and a half long battle D&D actually made
Bravo
I just wish Jon was Azor Ahai desu

How do people like this even exist?

Yeah, though i forgot that he died already LOL

How come Sansa never gave birth to Ramsay's child? I never stopped thinking about it ever since it happened. Do they have condoms in Westeros?

if they brought the one whigh at KL he probably wouldn0t be as dismissive as Cersei, but I don't see him sending his whole army eather
He'd probably send a fraction of it to not look like a complete dick to all the sides committing and have it lead by Tyrion in the hope he gets killed in the process

He looks too evil and otherworldly, like he's more monstrous and alien than just a human who was mutated/possessed.
Long beard white hair guy looks like such a being, leaving it open to interpretation whether he's fully sentient or more a force of nature.

Kinda hilarious that they're stealing from anime now.

well, he def looks surprised/afraid when he sees Jon's sword not shattering, so he at least does not look like some robot

Scenario: You have been given four episodes to wrap up the White Walkers storyline. Season 8 episodes 1 & 2 dealt with Cersei, now it's just a battle of the living versus the dead. Cersei is the only significant character who is dead, Jaime, Dany, Varys etc are all still alive. Dany still burned KL though.
You need at least one episode of Winterfell, the sets have already been built.
How do you make it not shit?

I can't. Lena Headey is the best actress on the show. Not having her is too much of a handicap.

His cock became her world

I can’t remember if Ygritte says anything about it, she’s more into him eating her pussy, the “lord’s kiss”

Considering Jon refusing her the dick drove Dany mad I’d say his was the best for her though

Jon couldn't even talk to her like a normal person let alone fuck her. I blame him more than anyone for what happened. I mean look at this shit. youtube.com/watch?v=YYXQR8myEtM

How hard is it to just take her hand, lead her over to where the group is at and try to involve her in the conversation with these people -- force these people to get to know her better by having her share personal anecdotes. Despite her autism, at least having her there right next to him will encourage them to ask her questions and familiarize themselves with their future queen.

Attached: hungry.png (803x1044, 738K)

We can't have that user, morality has to be black/white for our Sue Jon Snow. No time for grey or Dany acting like her season 1 episode through S8 episode 3 self. The audience might feel confused and think Dany didn't deserve or, or, even that Jon shouldn't have done it.

He took Daenerys and her Dragons serious enough to talk to Oberyn, specifically because he wanted Dorne to aid him when the she arrives.

He is very careful and a realist, he plans for the future.

If any letter of the Night's Watch, by Mormont and by Snow, reached him, he would have at least considered it carefully, since the North is essential to his political plans.

Mance Rayder defeating the Night's Watch, taking the Gift and besieging Last Hearth would basically draw the entire attention of the North towards him and it is the most realistic scenario before Stannis comes in.
He wouldn't do anything about it, since he has no interest in sending Lannister troops off to die for a foreign war.

Should the Night King breach the Wall, should Tywin see a wight though, he would immediately make an armistice, unironically.

He is not obsessed, he knows when to save his power. In the show, Cersei would have normally taken up arms against the dead as well, it's only that the idea of her becoming mad contradicted that too much to become a plot point.

tl;dr: He would start mining all dragonglass in the Westerlands and tell Kevan to get a coat, should the Night King actually come.

>he was just pretending

Is that just crazy Targ craving for incest though? Succession shit aside, only Jon will do now that her too nutty brother is dead.

>man ends up not enjoying situation
>"lmao just be in it, have fun!"
>woman ends up not enjoying situation
>"reeeee it's all your fault"
Every. Fucking. Time.

It's just holier-than-thous smarty pants who're not holy and not smart, so they default to contrarianism in defence of positions supported by massive amounts of money and media clout.
>HOW DARE YOU random internet people take the piss or complain about the incompetence and gallingly stupid writing on a massively hyped tv show! Really smart people take their opinions on the show from HBO press releases and the puff piece articles from companies that work cheek by jowl with the showrunners. Well, if i was an executive at HBO, and i'm concerned about the ratings and such, i would expect the directors i hired to play it safe.
Don't take unnecessary risks and just do what the audience wants and expects.
i.e. Dany and Jon defeat the white walkers and night king, make one of them Azor Ahai (doesn't really matter which one), while the other one tragically dies during the fight, probably stabbed by the Night King. The survivor becomes king over the 7 kingdoms. Sansa and Arya have a full on naked lesbian sex scene, which lasts 10 minutes. Then the hound joins in and fucks them both. This lasts 10 minutes too.

Jon was a pull toy that just said two lines and acted confused. I was glad he wasn't king by the end.

They seemed to establish him as totally ineffectual even in his personal life while they had everyone say was an amazing king he'd be and how important it was for him to be king for a few episodes. Then they just forgot immediately he was ever a candidate at all and nobody even cared.

So much could have been solved by the characters having 2 minute not retarded conversations instead of the two seasons long seizures they all had instead. But then it would be obvious how little sense everything made.

That fanart is horrid

Jon was the character ruined the most by season 8

Of course, if there's on thing you can say about George is that he loves incest. He even procrastinated some more and wrote a history book about a family of incest instead of writing Winds. He's not gonna kill off the House otherwise why even leave it alive or bring it back from near ruin in the first place. Dany could've died in Essos or been taken to the Dosh Khaleen and almost everything in Westeros would've stayed the same.

I never got the Littlefinger meme, he acted like a literal cartoon and would have been immediately gutted if he was placed in the book universe

He probably just muttilated her genitals and abused her, just taking her from behind would be less traumatizing than that and would be more psychologically "dominating", as the anus just expands over time.
Ramsay made no attempt at impregnating Sansa, as long as she could still give birth later, as Roose and Myranda pointed out.

She might even still be a virgin, though that is probably just my delusion.

so will Bran marry one of the wood elves?

>George has two little sisters

They're all dead user. Bran made sure of it

No, Visenya was the big sister. Although Aegon didn't like her for some reason. Probably gay.

The Reddit link is a link to a terrible subreddit that dickrides the show, the guy who posted it did so as a joke that the average intelligence of a Stannis fan is that of a 15 year old with terrible drawing skills. The joke doesn't work unless the picture is terrible because the picture itself is the punchline

there, please fuck off

Well I'd watch the last 20 minutes of that, at least.

(Unironically: The one who turns out to be AA dies in the Others battle. The other one has at least the chance at the throne but maybe chooses to abdicate to go do their own thing. Not a happy ending at all but doesn't feel like both characters were just pointless wastes of time. Fuck, have them both die in an actually compelling Others War, makes sense, not happy at all. Show them explode into an edgy mass of gore as they die screaming. Still a better ending.)

Just saw the ending, what a fucking weak ending this was. Almost more cheesy than an average kids movie. What's even the point of Arya at this point, "wew lads shes gonna explore n shit" and Bran is some smug cunt that apparently knows everything but is more of a comedic bonus director rather than King.

Fuck, this sucks so much and now /got/ will die slowly with no good memes either

You're the one that can't recognize sarcasm for the looks of it. You should go back to reddot where you belong. After openly admitting to be a reddotor there isn't really much else to do here.

It's a phenomenon that's like the reverse of "trolling". There's not really a name for it, especially since it's mostly an online phenomenon rather than something all but the weirdest and least pleasant people do IRL.
"Bootlicking" might be a good name for it. I've seen rightwingers call the impulse "hall monitor" behaviour. It's definitely a very left-wing impulse, since most of the time it involves defending what establishment institutions do that pisses people off, in particular media writing.

A similar thing has existed for longer in art and architecture, where things that lack classical measures of aesthetic and artistic/craftsmanship quality are said to be "art" that "most people" can't understand. The status of this behaviour as phillistinic gnosticism is more obvious now that it's been extended to writing in order to legitimise the laziness of multi-billion dollar media oligopolies, since the monetary motive is more obvious now that it's private media companies churning out crappy product and private media companies churning out "thinkpieces" about how crappy writing is actually good writing, rather than the CIA covertly funding alleged artistic mad geniuses.
It probably coincides with how the "SJW" cult was developed out of occupy wall street, when the left ideologies still had teeth that could be directed at the powers that actually be, rather than mcdonalds workers who express wrongthink opinions like saying they don't like the ending of game thrones.

so if I mention Discord or Resetera that means I post there? Holy shit kill yourself

The whole show is Stark propaganda, so only they got the ending they wanted

Sansa suddenly becoming mentally "strong" and confident confuses me, because she seems bitter about Ramsay, yet never goes through a time to heal her apparent wounds, implying that she was merely hurt physically.

She is victim and murder at the same time and she somehow entirely forgot about her romantic thoughts, that's all she has ever wanted, which ruins her arch.

A marriage with Harry would have been more satisfying tbqh

She's still there user. Season 8 might as well be a different show.

Tyrion wasn't trying to convince Jon, he was trying to convince the audience. Taken from that perspective it makes a lot more sense.

You've implied you know both the poster of the painting and the subreddit where he posted. Nice try at damage control, though. Best thing you could have done was bashing me for trying to tell you where you can and can't go on the internet, to be honest. Too late for that now, redditor.

Dany was 100% Ultra Evil in the end and not even as sympathetically portrayed or complex as a Disney animated movie villain. Just have her trip and fall from a high place to die instead, it's even more of a cliche happy Disney end, which has the super evil black clad bad guy die most of the time. Or maybe Disney's Snow White was "subversive and edgy" when its Mad Queen died? And The Little Mermaid, etc.?

I don’t think Dany ever wanted to marry Viserys

The audience was long convinced by the much to long half hour of Vietnam footage

I think we can all agree that only white anglo saxon protestants should be allowed to write fantasy literature from hereon out.

I literally just clicked on someone else's link and scrolled down. This process took me five seconds. You are arguing with two different people btw

The way to fix Dany (and Jon’s) ending is for her to have had a child. Even if she goes crazy and Jon has to kill her, it wasn’t all for nothing because she still passed something on to the future.

I’m still convinced D&D cut out Dany and Jon having a baby

>Dany going mad after hearing the bells (although it didnt make sense)

Someone explain the bells to me, I still don't get why she glassed KL
t. brainlet

GRRM himself said the ending of asoiaf is bittersweet tard

You might think that was enough, but the Hitler cosplay and dialogue with Tyrion were clearly necessary in the eyes of our visionary writer-director duo.

>Far more people in Westeros love you than love me.
What did Dany mean by this? No one outside of the North and the few people that came to the North from the Vale know who the fuck Jon even is. The entire south also looks down on Northerners are savages, Jon even worships the wrong gods. Dany had Dorne who definitely don't fear her and amount to more men than the North and Vale), all the Reachmen and Westerland soldiers who bent the knee after the Field of Fire 2.0 (though that is fear), we don't actually see Northerners even hate her after the Long Night (except Sansa and Arya), she could easily go to Oldtown, get good with the Faith and be crowned under them to have Cersei declared a false Queen and abomination in the eyes of the Gods for blowing up the Sept, and she has Yara's Ironborn.

Why are the writers such hacks?

GRRM, multiple times

No one understands it, it didn't make sense. Mad Dany is canon but it should have been a gradual process, not a snap like in the show. It was retarded. The only think that made it kino was Emilia's oscar worthy acting in that scene.

Tolkien was catholic though

>justifying yourself to some anonymous people on an anonymous cantonese wood carving forum
hello reddo

It wasnt tyrion convincing but D&D by blatant exposition dialogue that didnt work unless you are brainlet. It was shit dialogue. Show don't tell. Fuck D&D, this dialogue was like these inside of episodes D&D masturbation.

More like no one on dany's side got a good ending.

Missandei was decapitated
Barristan died like a dog
Grey Worm who went apeshit over Missandei's death didn't do jackshit over Dany's death and is now sailing to an island with butterflies of death and thuis is fucked

Bronn is right. His arc is that he doesn't really have one, people don't get land and titles because they ascend to virtue, they get them the way he has. Being in the right place at the right time and being a bit of a bastard.

His serious videos are deeply insightful, and I've grown to love his goofy videos after feeling like you for a time.

>*Tyrion turns to the camera and speaks the true speak*
>D&D ARE GOOD WRITERS. DANY WAS ALWAYS EATING BABIES AND THE SOUNDYTRACK MADE YOU NOT NOTICE HER BABY EATING SO MUCH. SHE VILLAIN JON HAVE NO CHOICE NO MORAL DILEMMA HERE. JON IS GREAT. BRAN IS THE CHARACTER WITH THE MOST INTERESTING STORY IN THE WHOLE SERIES. STORIES LIKE THIS AWESOME ONE BY D&D ARE THE MOST IMPORTANT THINGS IN THE UNIVERSE. D&D ARE YOUR NEW GODS BY RIGHT. THE PACING WAS GREAT. SHUT UP AND DON'T COMPLAIN. ABOUT ANYTHING D&D EVER DO. PRAISE AND HAIL D&D. BY THE WAY SINCE I STARTED THIS SPEECH YOU DON'T CARE ABOUT JON ANY MORE. BRAN WAS ALWAYS THE VERY BEST CHOICE AND YOU KNEW IT FROM THE BEGINNING. WE HAVE ALWAYS BEEN AT WAR WITH EURASIA.

First on the "to burn" list.

I'm sorry, did Sansa stab Dany? Did Sansa burn 1 million people to death?
No? Then shut the fuck up.

It’s completely based on Tormund, Jon’s good friend, who had already praised Dany too, who isn’t even a subject of the Iron Throne, heaping praise in Jon. Also Sansa hating her, I guess. It’s ignoring Yara Greyjoy, the Tyrells, and the Martells

not really, they did very poor job, it hard to be mad at Daenerys, with that shit writing by D&D. No one bough the king's landing assault, so nobody bought whatever tyrion was talking about or the daenerys speach. It was stupid and out of character.

>Dany and Jon having a baby
They honestly must've. That passing on longclaw talk, infertility and whether to believe it or not, dynasty, has to have meant something. Same thing with Jon fucking her believing she can have kids. Even them not figuring out they should get married themselves while Varys, Tyrion, Davos, Sansa and even Littlefinger can figure it out has to be D&D just playing it safe so Jon looks like a good guy. Cause if they had him kill his wife and the the mother of his child after ignoring her and failing to comfort her, he'd look terrible

I never said it was any good, see For the record, D&D can't even do "show don't tell" right - pic related.

you're late for summer class

I'm sorry.

Jon should kill Sansa for breaking her oath and making him kill his waifu

Sansa and Bran are the worst characters ever.
They did fucking nothing for 8 seasons and ended up being King and Queen.
Literally, they did nothing. Idk why people even consider Sansa to be smart or anything, literally the only clue we have to infer Sansa is smart is that Arya said so.

Bronn would never have enough support and men to hold Highgarden or get recognized by the Lords of the Reach as their Lord. It would be an empty as fuck title. Bran doesn't even have an army to enforce that shit.

nice attempt at damage control

>i.e. Dany and Jon defeat the white walkers and night king, make one of them Azor Ahai (doesn't really matter which one), while the other one tragically dies during the fight, probably stabbed by the Night King.

>the NK uses an ice javelin to bring down Drogon
>Jon and Dany who were riding it crash into a Winterfell courtyard where they find Jorah with his guts hanging out of his plate penetrated in a dozen places, but still standing
>everyone in Winterfell has retreated indoors where they can defend the narrow hallways
>the corpses keep piling up, the dead never stop coming
>Viserion is burning the castle to the ground, women and children are getting crushed by falling fiery debris. Arya, Sansa and Tyrion huddle in a corner, with Arya using her little dagger to fend off the dead for a few seconds more
>the last warriors outdoors rally around Thoros who leads the Hound, Jaime, Brienne, Tormund, Podrick, some remaining Northmen et al to defend the Godswood where Bran is

>Theon has died defending Bran and took down a WW with him
>one by one they go down, Thoros's flaming sword snuffed out under a pile of wights, Jaime shielding Brienne
>the NK appears flanked by four WWs as his guards
>Podrick takes one down but is felled by the blades of a dozen wights
>the Hound is swarmed by several wights on fire
>Dany, Jon and Jorah are struggling to get to the Godswood but there are still a hundred wights between them and the WWs
>Jorah sacrifices himself protecting Dany but both are swarmed under wights
>Jon arrives at the weirwood, by himself
>Brienne kills the last WW but is stabbed by the NK himself
>he arrives just in time to see the NK slit Bran's throat
>the NK raises his hands as Jon yells and charges him
>as the former heroes around them rise again as wights he slashes at the NK
>the NK catches the blade of Longclaw in his hand, appearing unaffected by Valyrian steel
>the NK starts to leave, apparently satisfied as wights surround Jon
>Jon sees a blue eyed Dany in front of him
>determined to fight to the end, he stabs her in the chest with Longclaw, while in tears
>the blade bursts into flame
>wight Dany basically disintegrates while on fire
>Longclaw emits a bright, golden light
>as wights disintegrate in a small radius around Jon, the NK turns around to face him again

>5. Tyrion finding his siblings' corpses
you gotta be kidding user

Tyrion and Arya are the two "high Q rating" characters. Instead of showing the other characters actually doing or being things, Tyrion and Arya turn to the audience and tell you what to think.

I'm not gonna stop responding, faggot. You can be the first to drop this like the pussy you are

I don't think people have liked Arya in significant numbers since S5, and even then she was never as popular as Tyrion was.
Truth is, D&D just like using Maisie Williams, and think Peter Dinklage is a crutch for their shitty dialogue.

Sansa made her snap.

Tbh, only Cersei crying at Jamie being wounded was kino the last 2 episodes

Drogon bumping Dany was cheesy but kinda kino, although burning the throne was cringe

>wrote a history book about a family of incest
To be fair.

Ageon absolutely made the correct choice.

You should kill yourself for being a waifufag.

That line where Tyrion says “ wherever she goes evil men die and we cheer her for it” was borderline breaking the fourth wall. Jon has never seen Dany murder people, he probably has no clue what the fuck Tyrion is taking about with her Meereen shit

New thread when

I will, don't worry. You can tell your reddit friends you won the argument because the other guy grew tired of you. You're the one that needs validation for anything he does, anyway.

In fact, Mereen had zero impact on Westeros, and next to zero on Dany or "team Dany".

i like queen daenerys of house targaryen

she was good

fuck off and suck off your faggot highschool friends you little underage bitch

Only if you don't believe him. I think that is supposed to be the point, Highgarden is Camelot, the home of chivalry right?

Their interactions were so awkward. It occurred to me partway through the season that the writers probably intended "You are my queen" to be a romantic line, but it just comes off as him being unable to commit to her or something. She tells him she loves him and he might as well have said "Thanks."

nice projecting, you sure look older by using all these swear words

>where things that lack classical measures of aesthetic and artistic/craftsmanship quality are said to be "art" that "most people" can't understand
At least in art, that really dates back to the students of the original Impressionists. The first generation of Impressionists (1870s) actually understood their craft, and broke the rules of art for specific reasons to create a given effect. Their students didn't grasp this, and ignored the rules in favor of vomiting on page and insisting that anyone who criticized them didn't understand them.

The great Renaissance masters, for instance, are self-evidently great. So it's more of a 20cen thing, like most problems.

>It's definitely a very left-wing impulse
Because they reflexively believe what they're told by the same media apparatus that's being criticized. Fucking harry potter is the closest thing these people have to a religious text.

i like queen daenerys of house targaryen

she was good

unironically

This reads like b8. Bitch, don't "blame" Sansa. Sansa didn't even feel like a character, every character became a prop to make Dany have the worst days ever and the plot and logic twisted itself into a pretzel to go along with it. Dany should have just been killed by the wights instead of what happened. Not only did needing to hit that beat help fuck the whole 1/2 season in service to it, whatever hamfisted point they were trying to make failed and the plotline was shoved out the moon door too fast to have an impact even if it was well done. Should have skipped it altogether.

Don't believe him about what. He's lowborn, a sellsword and the only authority behind him is the weakest king there's ever been who has no army, no food, no money, no soldiers. And that land of chivalry was supporting Renly to usurp the throne, they're just as scheming as others.

...

stick a knife in your taint, is that simple enough for you

you are simple enough for anyone to be honest

The whole season should have been about the NK, at most cersei should have died on S7 or just after she blew the sept by jamie and so we wouldn't have a had a whole season of trying to gimp dany's army to make cersei seem like a credible threat and making every character retarded because of it.

There's nothing left of that arc, the biggest arc of the entire series reduced to a joke and instead we get even more retarded shit after.
Fucks sake, why, just why.

>thoros
???????????????????

>Protestant reflexively burns people he can't argue with
Never change.

Not simple enough for you to beat, though

simple enough for some words to get you mad as fuck, though

projecting little faggot

that's not very original, is it? it's ok, reddit is known for recycling everything we throw at them so you're doing what you're supposed to do.

yeah cause throwing accusations of Reddit is so fucking original

It doesn't have to be original to be true, as the case is.

So you admit you're a projecting little faggot? Cool

You're not even trying anymore, I enjoyed your mental gymnastics more.

At least I was trying in the first place

You'll never do anything but try, same as you tried to fit in here but you got called out as a redditor.
