Nothing weird about listening to pop punk and ska while playing Tony Hawk with your bros. The early 00s were kino.

I joking I liked reel big fish and nfg had a couple of decent tunes. Pop punk was big for about 6 months after rap metal bands like limp bizkit and linkin park were huge. I f remember correctly

YOU SAY

Don't really wanna see what she looks like nowadays

No way. Pop punk was easily one of the most dominant genres in popular music up until around 2005/2006.

She looks good

Most definitely not

It absolutely was still popular. Fall Out Boy had major radio hits in 2005 and beyond.

Also, My Chemical Romance released The Black Parade in 2006. Emo and pop punk bands were still getting a lot of radio play into 2007.

Maybe I just grew up and stopped listening to it by then

Dropped off the radar near enough after 2010 with all that other tripe taking it's place

I don’t think I’ve ever outgrown any genre that I was actually into. Early 00s pop punk is always still in regular rotation on my workout playlist as is metal. Even when they were in their prime, I hated rap metal and bands like Staind and Disturbed.

zoomers will never know this feel

MCR isn’t emo though
Emo has never been played on the radio or ever really been part of the mainstream
The absolute closest would maybe be American Football

Fair enough. MCR could be called mall emo I guess.
