I don't watch TV shows because they're designed only to keep the audience paying attention to them. Next to none of them are thought through ahead of time, and almost all of them are soap operas. There's nothing to consider besides "who's going to kill/fuck who?" Movies, whether they're stupid or not, at least typically have to be self-contained, and don't have the option to pointlessly string you along. Once it's over, you're able to make an overall judgement call about its quality, instead of saying "I hope the next episode is better than this one!" until the show inevitably just runs out of ideas and falls apart.

I haven't watched TV in over a decade. And that's mostly because I realised that a 23 minute long episode involves watching 15 minutes of advertisements for products I don't have any interest in buying. Second biggest reason is because most shows are pathetic, weak "stories".
I was also going fucking mad with how every conversation people had around me was either about social shit happening at work/school or last nights episode of whatever is popular at the moment. Weeks on end, day after day and that's all anyone ever talks about, like we're all stuck in a hellish Groundhog day situation but everybody is pretending it's fine. So I just stopped watching anything on TV, even stopped watching any new movies for a few years. It was nice to have an excuse to not have those conversations any more. But the new frustration was everyone looking at me like I needed to be pitied because I hadn't seen some shit they just watched.
