I’m hyped, because Iran inevitably going to obliterate the trend of factors infiltrating adaptions of established fantasy work and obliterating them.
Think about it logically; GoT utterly shits the bed, so much that even the retards that liked it unironically for the past three seasons could spot it.
Then you have the Witcher, written and produced by people who obviously don’t care about it, and coming out to meet an audience jaded by GoT shitting itself
Then you have Lord of the rings, which has had arguably the most successful and well received adaptation of all time, and is only allowed to write in for the bits nobody cares about; essentially licensed fan fiction.
At some point, likely when LOTR fails, producers will start seeing fantasy adaptations as a liability.

It colors your view of what came before when there's a remake or sequel ages after the fact. I won't bother letting this trash take up space in my brain and change how I see the books.
I feel the same way partially about the Jackson movies too actually. They're good for what they are. They are the best possible adaptation of that material you could make, taking into account the realities and practicalities of making a film, but I do kind of wish I'd never seen them and could just enjoy the books on their own without imagery from the films seeping in all the time.
Even if you prefer the films, same thing will apply.
Just avoid this trash and don't give them any views anywhere or let it enter your mind any more than it has to.

I played Shadow of War recently which actually has a very good and compelling story. I was surprised to find out afterwards that it wasn't based on any of Tolkien's appendices, footnotes etc, and it a completely original take on things.
In particular, they go into Sauron's past when he was an elf-like being, and his motivations for wanting to take over the world. He saw life as imperfect, and wanted to raze it all to the ground and start again. Raising an army of Orcs, Goblins etc to overthrow the world of men was just stage 1 of his plan. Eventually he would have killed the Orcs (or manipulated them into killing each other) as well, as they were just a means to an end.
In short, I think at LOTR TV series might have a chance at being good.
