why does spock have a neckbeard and since when is uhura the captain
And then for no reason at all people stopped enjoying Star Trek.
>inb4 the mental gymnastics poster posts the article claiming it's the most popular streaming show
Pretty show that watching this show nominates you to be the center of a game of kick the queer.
>nobody watches it haha
>it's cancelled any day now trust me guys, youtube insiders said so
>*gets renewed*
>*spinoffs shows announced*
based
>reddit space
>writes like a black
>low iq "based" reply
That's the crazy thing though. Nobody is watching it, and they're throwing more and more money at it. It's totally irrational.
Why is anyone paying quadruple TNG budgets for sub-Enterprise viewership?
Too big to fail
>but ENT
>but JJverse
The Orville is the true heir to the star trek throne
I guess CBS was really desperate to get their streaming service going.
>nobody is watching it
you keep saying this over and over without any sources, no midnight edge doesn't count, how do you know nobody watches it? the only thing tv networks care about is money, if it was doing as badly and you guys keep saying then yeah it would have actually got cancelled. remember it's on netflix everywhere outside of the US too, so the audience could be huge.
You know that show Game of Thrones, how you sometimes find people, ya know, talking about it? Or even The Walking Dead? There's fucking half-million viewer CW soap operas that have more visible fanbases than Star Trek.
Why is this black kid so obsessed with Midnight Edge? No one mentioned him, kiddo.
cbs pls
cobra kai threads get more posts than nu trek
Tax write off to push their shit all access service
Even dogshit like ENT has fans. STD does not.
we all watched S2 because of top lad pike and there's nothing you can do about it.
Well I loved it
>lad
More proof the only people who watch this shit are gays.
Well, you post from a phone.
>the only thing tv networks care about is money
And pushing propaganda.
Guess which one STD is doing.
yeah ok kid, their shareholders are quite happy to throw hundreds of millions down the drain for the (((agenda)). isn't it funny how this only happens with shows you don't like though, what a crazy coincidence.
>wat is difference between comma and period, massa?
>tfw im watching it as a way to spend time with a friend who doesnt like to go out
>we make fun of it
shit sux
Yeah, no studio would ever throw hundreds of millions of dollars down the drain to make virtue signalling bullshit that literally nobody watches or cares about
>isn't it funny how this only happens with shows you don't like though, what a crazy coincidence.
The BR2049 guys wasted like 100 mil pushing pro-incel propaganda
no shit sherlock, they'll keep going until they piss off their backers and then heads will roll. look at the new media bubble as an example of what will happen to streaming services in a couple of years.
it's a shit movie that tanked, rightfully so, they're not now making another two or three sequels and spinoffs are they?
There's plenty of drones on the-site-which-shall-not-be-named who appear to like Discovery.
Yeah, on CBSAllAccess...
If this were any other service, it would be cancelled. It's all CBS has now that even the SJWs think Twilight Zone sucks--and even that got renewed. They're still in the 'never cancel anything' mode that Netflix was in at the beginning of the decade.
I'd agree with you if we hadn't seen this repeatedly everywhere in our society these days. But we do, so no matter how stupid it sounds, it's obviously true.
No there aren't
Oh shit, did wrinkle in time tank? What was the reason? I never got around to actually watching it but like 90% of their targetted audience, i did read the book 2 decades ago.
STD probably does make a tiny amount of money, in that there are morons who will buy a subscription to AllAccess just to watch it. That's why Twilight Zone is getting a second season.
But the show has literally no cultural impact because it's a very tiny number of people.
Why is the show as expensive to produce as Game of Thrones? What's the money even going into?
there's obviously been enough support and viewership for the show to justify the renewal and support.
plus, what most people forget is that most other trek series were really not in their golden age until the first few seasons were out of the way.
it was just shit.

CGI probably
Buddy, look at your own links. They include no numbers whatsoever except for Parrot Analytics Media Expressions.
those are just missleading headlines. cbs all access is basically new and has no shows or subscribers and when they say most popular they mean just on cbs all access.
factually speaking, the most popular is probably cobra kai. Reports are that STD won't get a season 3 as netflix has dumped them and ratings were under 1 million
I love how CBS won't actually state how many people watch the show, but they invented an entire new form of complex media metrics to prove that Discovery is the most popular show in the new metric they invented.
it just counts how many times people say discovery or std right? in other words our threads where we shit on std and facebook posts from girls talking about stds are likely propping up their metric.
Not the last time too.
This is happening because they're desperate to jumpstart their streaming service, and hey have no actual smart tactics besides "we need to pump more money into this mainstream property, people are soon to take notice eventually"
It's an act of calculated desperation, not a sign of the show's success
Watched Star Trek all my life, this is probably the first show that I've watched where most of my friends (who are not trek fans at all) also watch it and we discuss things about it.
People are watching it and it actually attracts new viewers unlike the older shows which stuck to the same fanbase which now rejects anything new.
Do normies or casual non-fans even watch this?
TrekCore, the biggest shills for STD, mostly retweet people going "Yeah, I love Star Track! Use the force, Dr. Spock!"
>watched Star Trek all my life
>my friends
Not read that anywhere at all. Netflix was unhappy because their money basically paid for season 1, whilst season 2 was entirely CBS funded. No idea why they would drop the show when they don't need to pay for it anymore.
Yeah not everyone is like you buddy or the typical stereotype of the people who use this board. I have watched Star Trek all my life and my friends basically never took an interest in the franchise. Discovery has made it welcoming to a modern audience who wouldn't have watched otherwise.
It's been great to discuss it with plenty of people this time around.
they dropped the show though. it probably just wasnt making any money for them at all.
>Discovery has made it welcoming to a modern audience who wouldn't have watched otherwise.
yeah, with all its bullshit stuff like "destiny" instead of coincidence, even more fantasy sci-fi than trek has ever done before, and technobabble dumbed down for normies
and the fact there has to be non-stop action every episode, even a normal briefing room meeting has the camera spinning around 360 to hold a braindead normie's attention
Money laundering?
i love startgate and i love fucking science!
It would be watchable if they removed the faggots and modern politics
The CGI is top tier.
You're right instead of being about concepts and proper sci fi ideas like all things must make sense in universe, discovery dumbs it down to brainlet levels so normies can enjoy.
