The problem wasn't Dany going mad, it was the complete lack of build-up and the way the writers try to hamfistedly explain it in the post-episode segments. Everyone knows Dany's going to go mad in the books and it's been foreshadowed as much for a while, but she also has far better reason for it considering fAegon exists and is out taking Westeros by storm while she's stuck in Essos. The writers cut too many things from the books, rushed their way to a conclusion, and then try to retcon events to create an explanation as for why things are the way they are.

i feel so bad for hating her, i hated dany and MUHDRACARYS that i even hated her irl too whished dany would die a horrible death in season 3-4 even while she was in the hospital fighting for her life(unknowingly though).

i should have been praying to be able to visit her with a simple gift. holding her hand while she was sedated from the pain after they drilled through her skull to help keep her connected to this world not deserving of her. painting her toenails for her, but doing a terrible job but she would smile and giggle anyway and thank me before the head pain came back and the nurses sedated her...then i'd cover her feet with the blanket again to keep them warm and comfy. Then leave to spend hours in the church praying for her, never letting her candle die out.

Honestly my biggest issue with their treatment of Dany is that she goes berserk in one episode, which we never see her perspective on aside from facial expressions, and then the next is one war speech and one small talk with Jon.
Then she dies (30 mins in) and... the rest of the episode turns into a fucking comedy? We don't even really see the aftermath of her death since there is a timejump and the characters are more interested in closing everything out.
We spent 8 seasons with this character and there's hardly any real closure to be had. I get more emotional satisfaction out of this Ramin piece: youtube.com/watch?v=K318JWc85Dk (which didn't appear in the show) than what the events that transpired in the episode.

Robb was so honorable that he alienated something like two-thirds of his army by repeatedly making honorable, yet stupid, decisions. He never would have been able to bring himself to stab Dany, but I also don't think he would have bent the knee to her in the first place either.
