I though the Ghostbusters remake was pretty kino, but then again I have the most kino taste in films. I didn't really like the original star wars trilogy and the prequels are meh, but TFA, TLJ, Rouge One, Now we have some Kino. As you can tell, I've watched every MCU film at least 5 times. I have to admit though, I had to watch Black Panther 10 times, I even paid for all the girls in my classroom their tickets, but as long as i sit away from them. Idk something about that movie gets me all hot... down there.

And, to be fair, that's mostly because I hate the fact that pretty much all male comedies are that way now, too. It's not a male vs. female thing so much as that there's just not much smart comedy being made anymore, period.

Not that I'm a prude about it: there have been raunchy comedies that I have enjoyed, but I wish there were more variety out there, like there used to be.

it has that stuff but the main characters are portrayed like stuck up "I'm with her" bumper sticker girls as a joke, and the whole point of the movie is that they realize they're not better than everyone and misjudged/characterized most of the kids they went to school with.

Saw an early screening of it earlier this week and laughed more at it than any comedy I've seen in theaters since maybe This Is The End? But it's not trying to be female Superbad I don't think, Superbad's main priority is being funny pretty much the whole way through whereas this one has a nice balance between comedy and sincere shit. Also Billie Lourd pretty much plays an exagerrated version of her mom (Carrie Fisher) and is Kramer-level scene stealing whenever she's on screen.

surprisngly there isn't a single fat girl joke in the whole movie. If the actress was skinny or someone else was cast it would've been exactly the same.

I feel the same way about recent comedies not being funny (or at most I'll chuckle at something) but there were a good amount of belly-laughs from me. Also it wasn't that raunchy. There's only 1 sorta sex scene and it's between Kaitlyn Dever (the pretty one) and Diana Silvers' character at a a party but they just make out/start to finger each other before one of them has to throw up because she drank too much.

That's not surprising at all. We're not supposed to acknowledge that fat girls are fat, now. We're supposed to pretend they are just as attractive as skinny girls.

nah it's never really addressed in a negative or positive way. Her character thinks the guy who's party they're at is flirting with her for a while and he ends up hooking up with someone else. Nothing really happens after that for her romance-wise.

But that's what I mean. We're not supposed to acknowledge any difference. We've gone right past pushing the "fat girls are pretty, too" message (that's SO two years ago) to an environment of "how dare you consider a girl's BMI as remotely relevant to her attractiveness," where they just trot fat girls out there without even trying to TELL us they are pretty, but instead just expect us to already believe it and then hurl insults at anyone who voices an objection.

It's extra sad because they aren't complaining that people don't respect or acknowledge them. All anyone cares about now is whether they get sex. I have no problem with fatties as people as long as it's not fat enough to be indicative of a bad personality. That doesn't mean I have to find fat chicks attractive, nor should they even care that much. 99% of women aren't attracted to me and I imagine it's about the same for most of the other lads here. Genuinely don't care. I'd rather be respected so that when I snag a proper woman, it'll be something fulfilling instead of pure "attraction".
