Saw this with my little brother in a cinema full of kids, and they all seemed to hate it. Too many depressing scenes with humans talking about death and shit, and surprisingly long periods with no Pokemon on screen. The kids were all getting restless. I have no opinion on the movie myself other than it being boring but I have to say as a kids’ movie it’s trash.

I just saw the movie. It was entertaining, but I thought there were parts where the characters stated the obvious a bit too much. The girl's introductory scene was weird, and I thought the movie moved way too quickly between "bad guy reveals he is evil" and "bad guy now has superpowers and is flying around the city evaporating people."

I also think Mewtwo did a bit too much in the movie. The comfeys shown in the forest scene could've used Floral Healing on Pikachu, but Mewtwo did it instead. Psyduck/the girl could've caught Pikachu using Confusion or Psychic and ended up contributing something to the climax, but Mewtwo did it instead.
I get Mewtwo's supposed to be powerful, but there were moments for other characters to contribute instead of Mewtwo waving his hand and fixing the problem.

I'm trying to decide if I should go see the movie. When I saw the trailer a few months ago I was excited, but going to the theatre is a nuisance, makes me anxious to some extent, and I have already had the twist ending spoiled for me.
Pikachu and all the Pokemon look so cute though so I might end up going anyway, if I can resist the temptation to just torrent a bootleg.

Went to see this yesterday with my gf, there were 15 people in the cinema so it's not a total flop yet is it bros?

I took my 11yr old son to see it and we both enjoyed it very much. Although I must say it didn't have the "feel" of pokemon universe. Still a fun movie though.

A bootleg torrent would not do this film justice honestly.
