I hate Nolan so much. I only have hope because based Pattinson is in it.

>Debicki
>Branagh
Now we're talking

The epic tweeeeeeist is that their doubling as a double spy

>Didnt want to wait for a new Bond actor to make it his own.

Makes his own Bond film.

>negro lead
Did they get to him, Yea Forums?

>they wouldnt let me do Bond

>kenneth branagh
I wonder how he feels being a better writer and director than Nolan when Nolan asks him to read autistic dialogue and do corny shots.

Denzel and his son are among the good ones.

Probably feels his wallet expanding

>Why are we filming me scenes first Chris

>Pattinson

>tangerine man
Holy shit what a based cast.

>spy thiller
let me guess, broken timelines and memory tricks.

Can't you not win british awards without nigs in your flicks now?

>kino cast
>kino score by Zimmer
>meme dialogue
>meme direction

good

>>kino score by Zimmer
doubt. A spy thriller needs a subtle score. Not what Zimmer is going to do.

Will it rival Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy?

This, I’m sure he’ll have a great time filming just getting to relax, act for a few weeks then come back home with stories of Nolan’s autism and backwards ways to direct and write.

I seriously hope he stays away from any science fiction bullshit. Hopefully he is also enthusiastic about making this movie because he’s been lazy since Inception.

remember when retards were saying it would be about a porn star?

Yeah Nolan is gonna hit every genre and leave a solid film.

Thats his legacy.

My cocaine

a several weeks ago some user posted a pic of some clipboard/hardcover with the supposed name of Nolan's next film, claiming he got it from some 'relative of his' working as a staff member at some production company or something like that. Does anyone remember the title that was on it to see whether it was legit back then?

Thought it was going to be about time travel

>every genre
is TDKR his comedy?

Incredible cast desu

but the rumor was a "spy thriller" involving time travel
maybe it still is, they just didn't confirm that detail

>Christopher Nolan is only 48 years old
lads we have ATLEAST two decades of Nolan kino upon us

prosperous times are ahead

He's already out of ideas.

Did you guys even read the article? Zimmer's not involved. It's being done by the Black Panther composer.

LOOKS LIKE KINO'S BACK ON THE MENU BOYS

DUDE BRAVO NOLAN THE TITLE IS A PALINDROME BRAVO NOLAN LMAO

Interstellar was also Zimmer

Score is not by Zimmer this time

>the reason people take capeshit seriously now
>uses that reputation to be one of the only directors allowed to create high budget auteur kino
A gift and a curse to everyone.

Some of Zimmer's best stuff. Pipe organ kino.

Göransson is a talented guy. I think it will be a good score.

>Production on the film, which recently got underway, will take the cast and crew to seven different countries.
oh it's time travel all right and it's based

Hope for Debicki feet don't let us down Nolan

The biggest movie since the silent era of films

I've never taken Nolan too seriously but holy shit Dunkirk was so bad I don't want to hear about him ever again. Fuck this pretentious smug hack.

Attached: 1455135326987.png (560x407, 16K)

he is the spiritual successor of Wagner

Johnson is a based actor. Absolutely out acted Gyllenhaal in Nocturnal Animals

If Jonathan is writing it then it's going tho be shit he's really holding Chris back

That would have been the movie of the century.

>Writer: Christopher Nolan
it's kino alright

Christopher Nolan is the thinking man's director

Pattinson's on a fucking roll

Yeah he will be comparing everything to that masterpiece Thor

Denzel is alright. His son John drank the SJW/black supremacy kool-aid, though.

He makes okay pop music. His scoring is basic as shit.

>His son John drank the SJW/black supremacy kool-aid, though
I don't really see that. I just see people constantly prodding him to go in that direction in interviews and he goes with the flow.

I THOUGHT IT WAS CALLED TEMPUS FUGIT

>Pattinson
>Debicki
>Caine

unfortunately it looks like it

Whether he's doing it to further his career or not is irrelevant. He's saying the words.

Denzel on the other hand has enough talent and fuck-you-money to tell the reporters to go fuck themselves when they try to talk politics.

>I seriously hope he stays away from any science fiction bullshit.

Do fuck off you dull cunt. Nolan is probably the only director around who has made an original sci-fi blockbuster in the last decade. Go back to watching capeshit

Rate Nolan films from best to worst

>The Prestige (9.5/10)
>TDK (9.5/10)
>Dunkirk (9/10)
>Interstellar (8/10)
>BB (7/10)
>Insomnia (7/10)
>Inception (6.5/10)
>Memento (6/10)
>TDKR (5/10)

Fuck you, it was Tour De Force

Also, keep in mind that Denzel wouldn't even bash Bush Jr, at a time when the entirety of Hollywood were frothing at the mouth.
Bush was fucking terrible, but Denzel, being the religious man that he is, doesn't believe talking shit about people solves anything.

His son being a spineless little shit who "goes with the flow" isn't an excuse.

I agree with most of this. memento is by far his most overrated movie. TDKR should also have a higher rating, even though it was a bad movie it was still entertaining and several rungs above marvlel capeshit

Nolan never made anything better than 6/10.
Let me guess.
>exposition
>badly choreographed action scene
>playing with timelines
>exposition dump
>poorly written conversations and trying some character development
>another round of exposition
>badly choreographed action scene
>final round of exposition so everyone gets everything because he can't let people to think for themselves
>the end

>retards in here speculating it’ll be about sci-fi or time travel or some bullshit
You autistic faggots realize it’s called Tenet right? Like George Tenet the director of the CIA during 9/11? Oh right, none of you are old enough to be alive then.

Nolan literally made an experimental arthouse kino wrapped and sold as a mainstream blockbuster, of course you capeshit-loving niggers hate him for it. You probably found it problematic that no nigger soldiers were inserted into the british army too. Cunt.

why do zoomers hate nolan so much? is it the lack of non-white and female characters in his films?

Denzel was an icon by then. His son is just starting his career in a much more politically correct environment. Of course he's going to toe the line.

>Denzel has a 34yo son
Damn that nigga looks ok for his age

his son probably feels guilty that he didn't grow up in the ghetto so he has to be more militant

He is literally exposition the writer. Maybe if he directed scripts by other people he would be passable director. He still can't direct action scenes to save his life. His biggest problem are the idiotic scripts which pander to the lowest common denominator audiences. He makes films designed to make stupid people who only watch capeshit feel smart. They think that they are watching some complex mind bending film where they have to be intelligent to get the plot. That's not true, because Nolan uses his characters as mouthpieces for his terrible exposition, so you don't have to think because everything is explained. He could work in a way where shows, instead of tells but he doesn't because he doesn't trust his audience. He is a fucking hack. Dunkirk was a step in right direction. Hopefully this one is not exposition infested shitfest.

DUUUDE. LET'S HAVE THE CHARACTERS JUST STARE AT EACH OTHER "EMOTIONALLY" INSTEAD OF ACTUALLY COMMUNICATING ANYTHING.

REMINDER: AUDIENCES AUTOMATICALLY UNDERSTAND MY BRILLIANT DIRECTORIAL INTUITION, SO DIALOGUE IS UNNECESSARY.

OH, AND BY THE WAY, *dumb naive anne hathaway face* "LOVE IS THE ***ONLY THING*** THAT TRANSCENDS TIME AND SPACE"

DUUUUUUUUUUDE GET ME ANOTHER HIT OF THE DMT BRO I'M SO FUCKING ENLIGHTENED AND BRITISH AND KINOGRAPHIC.

The british need to be genocided. Just get it over with. I literally can't fucking wait until China rapes the West and forces us to obey objective natural laws and get rid of our Jew-brained Freemason culture.

yep.

Attached: snap_0.jpg (720x720, 233K)

based and redpilled.

Great argument. I bet you also love Tarantino.

Stop parroting Reddit opinions. The films than Nolan wrote alone has no exposition issues.(memento and Dunkirk)

The sloppy writing is almost always his brother. Not just that not all exposition in his movies are bad. Like fincher he derives drama from exposition. Seriously not a single original thought in your post.

dunkirk is his best movie you utter pleb

Is it about George Tenet (former CIA chief under Clinton)

Thanks for the laugh

Dunkirk is a mess: visually inconsistent with characters disappearing and teleporting between shots, what little dialogue there is is still appalling, weak performances, no characterisation, an interesting event told in the most boring style imaginable (without getting into the way he fucked up a cool idea in the three timelines) and all the horror of war removed so that it could be sold to a pg-13 audience.
Anyone who likes it is basically admitting that they are incapable of discerning cinematic quality. Congrats on outing yourself as a pleb.

denzel’s son is gonna be based can’t wait

>Nolan never made anything better than 6/10.
This

Reddit loves Nolan. Nolan is reddit's favourite director. Inception was written by Nolan, it has exposition problems. Half of that movie is explaining the mechanics of the movie which it then subsequently breaks. Yees the gravity goes from one dream layer to another that's why the hotel has no gravity because the van is falling into river. Then why is there gravity in the third level of the dream? He establishes rules and breaks them. His films are full of plotholes. The Dark Knight is incredibly idiotic film. I agree not all exposition is bad, but the way Nolan uses it most of the time is useless, he has camera he can show it instead of he chooses to let his character spout it.

Fincher is completely different director than Nolan, he doesn't write his own scripts. Gone Girl and Girl with the Dragon Tattoo have pulpy scripts but he is skilled in getting good performances and making tension so the films are good. Fincher usually wastes his time with subpar scripts if he chose scripts like Zodiac all the time he would only make great films.

the fuck are you talking about

so is he gonna go the non linear route or the time travel route or both

He probably feels his oscar window closing as a white male director so he's probably gunning for Actor, Director, and Picture in one go by making a BLACKED James Bond after two decades of talking about wanting to make a Bond film and basing his other films off of the 007 films.

TDKR is perfect dipshit, even without the memes.

Time travel but told chronologically so we see characters in the past before we find out why they're there.

At least you said mainstream film of the 21st century, when your competition is Marvel, DC and Disney live action remakes it's not a big accomplishment. Also if you think that any other director would leave a jumbled mess, you are mistaken. I actually like Prestige it's not great, but it's decent. Don't tell me that you couldn't predict what would happen in the film.

Attached: bwuaahhhhh.png (214x236, 8K)

So that time travel rumor that was being thrown around here is not true? Bummer. It sounded way more interesting than just another spy movie. We get those every other month and the older spy movies tend to be much better than contemporary ones

Based.

Imagine being this contrarian. You must be fun at parties haha

It will be completely linear with no time travel and a very straight forward story and it will still be riddled with plot holes and terrible dialogue

what kind of faggot talks about capeshit at parties ffs

It's the only way Jew movie studios will fund your project. Expect a prominent sex scene between the negro lead and whatever stand-in white woman with a dye job they find

Unironically every faggot. I guess you don't really go to parties, huh?

Why does Nolan always get meme actors

Every normie. Have sex.

Imagine having some standards when watching films. Oh wait, you can't.

Pattinson is kino personified.

>Paying for films
Stop supporting Jewish pedophiles

Denzel is an honorary white man.

even if you pirate your content you are implicitly paying for it through product placements.

Stop watching capeshit

Is Nolan a genius?

Now that I think about it, I honestly can't picture anyone else, living or dead who strikes me as more artistically intelligent or intelligently artistic.

He's just infallible.

Attached: Mastercraft.jpg (530x800, 58K)

I hope this is a joke.

But it literally is

Tempus, based off the time travel rumours. It was fake.

it said a spy thriller that "plays with the time continuum". that could just mean like Dunkirk, playing with editing, not time travel.

it could still be a time travel spy movie though. honestly the fact that tenet is a palindrome makes that a bit more likely

>it was interesting because there were explosions going off in the background!

If he takes the Bond route and the opening scene of Dunkirk is anything to go by, I'm hoping for footchase kino. Dunkirk didn't havy any TDKR poor action geography shit.

Holy fucking soiguzzling faggot, Batman. You get drunk and golden tree at parties, you pathetic comicfag niggers.

>Branagh
this might actually be good if Nolan lets him direct some

this is the single most bait-filled thread in weeks

it was interesting because it was an experimental action film showcasing land, sea and air combat in different time frames that weaved together in a way we've never seen before. if you think explosions were the main draw of this movie then why wasn't it popular with the retard dribbling capeshit/soi wars demographic who love nothing more than CGI shitfests?

It was an art house film and executed to perfection. Cry more you smelly nigger

ANOTHER HOLY ORIGINAL NOLAN PASSION PROJECT

ANOTHER BIG BUDGET AUTEUR KINO

ABSOLUTELY BASED

I agree all that posts calling Nolan genius and his films kino are distressing. Also that one guy who claimed that The Prestige is the most complex mainstream film of the 21st century. That was a fantastic bait.

Many keks, my plebeian friend, many keks.

Either a samefag or a pair of spics said that parties are for discussing movies. I want to imagine it's bait.

Ooh tough guy

Probably a samefag or someone who hasn't been to a party.

Good cast-spy movies are good for autistic directors

Am i the only one who liked the dark knight rises? It's one of the best capeshit flicks desu

rating the most normie director ever does not make you a patrician

Maybe he is a football fan

I love how every few months, there are enough new tourists who have clearly never seen Nolan's filmography dismantled and still naively think he's some cinema genius. And then they're forced to realise how shit every Nolan film post BB is

This but unironically

I've been here longer than anyone should. Dunkirk is his second best film after Memento.
Have fun staying filtered my dear plot point mental midget friend.

>Nolan's filmography dismantled
do you think that's what has happened in this thread? a screeching capeshitter complaining that dunkirk is boring is not a dismantling of anything you cuckold

>necro-puppeteering the dead cringe compilation meme

Christ this thread is embarrassing

There was other valid criticism of his films inside the thread.

>BB

that's true for only a handful of Nolan's filmography, and then he delivered Dunkirk which is the exact opposite of exposition and all you mumbling retards complained it was too hard to follow

The fire rises, brother

Denzel Washington is a great actor you zoomer faggot go back to /pol/

I didn't complain about Dunkirk, i literally wrote that it's a step in right direction. Also he is incompetent in directing action that was another complaint.

>implying the sort of retard that enjoys Nolan trash can even formulate an understanding of the legit criticisms of his films, nevermind give a good response

As someone who mercilessly shits on Nolan, I agree that Dunkirk was a step in the right direction. It's a shame that he managed to fuck up literally everything else in that film.
But there are some genuinely good parts

Pattinson moves from kino to kino.

Attached: robert pattinson batman-03.jpg (1080x1341, 76K)

why's that user? because of a few TDKR webms of the background characters behaving silly?

I like Memento, Prestige and Dunkirk. Don't care about the rest that much, maybe Following get's a pass.
His short docu on the Quay brothers is good aswell.

Stop with your absolutely juvenile primitive le tribalism garbage posts

Is this bait? Dunkirk was his best movie by far and away

No. Most of his fight scenes, even the main ones between Batman and Bane in TDKR are very weak.

Nolan is the diet coke David Fincher

He was in a spike Lee joint
So no
Also I have a feeling Denzel is about as racist as Spike but probably behind closed doors
He did choose to play Malcom X afterall

???? the back break scene was fantastic and a true high point for capeshit adaptations

that plus he doesn't (at least until this movie) cast niggers or women as lead roles. nu-Yea Forums zoomermutts love their diverse cinematic franchises!

Lol no he didnt

So is Caine gonna be in every Nolan film until Caine dies?

yes

Yes he did. Gyllenhaal only acts good under a good director, otherwise he's completely lost and falls to the same gimmicks, like the eye twitch tick that was borderline laughable in NA.
Under a good director he becomes a character, without a director it's just Jake Gyllenhaal playing Jake Gyllenhaal.
Oh and the same exact thing for Amy Adams.

Tom Ford should stick to fashion

Only plebs hated Dunkirk.

He'll want to kill himself after the billionth junket question about whether or not he got tips from Nolan about acting as Batman.

>Nocturnal Animals
Good flick right here, that lad was decent enough but that movie was all Gyllenhaal

This is actually a good point

>spy movie
>not casting CIA as the MC
At least they should have a scene on a plane with some big guy and hired guns

heaven forbid we have a director producing fresh original content instead of capeshit and blackwashed reboots and remakes. no wonder nu-Yea Forums hates him

Watch this Also have higher standards than comparing it with other capeshit. It was not good, Nolan is not a good action director. Most of his fights are really clumsy but not in a good way.

Memento, then Prestige and then nothing else.

>Nolan
>pretentious
That's probably the dumbest reason to hate on him of all possible ones.
Dude literally said he doesn't want to make too artistic movies cause muh mainstream appeal.

TDKR opening scene about twelve thousand times in a row, atleast.

12 Monkeys is my favorite time travel movie by far

Remember that he had to cast a nignog as protagonist because Dunkirk was a flop.
They don't forget if you lose their money.

Insomnia is his best.
Memento is the most acclaimed.
TDK is the most reddit-acclaimed.
TDKR is an absolute meme but actually worth it for the meme value alone.

>made more than 5 times it's money back
>"a flop"
???

For well-executed spectacle: Interstellar, Inception
For non-linear narrative & intrigue and mystery: The Prestige, Memento
For cold, naturalistic atmosphere: Insomnia, The Dark Knight

Was getting caught part of his plan?

Attached: tom hardy dunkirk spitfire.webm (1280x720, 1.43M)

The IPCRESS file and Funeral in Berlin are essential spy/Caine kino. Also watch The Spy Who Came in From the Cold. If you haven't seen Connery-era Bond then watch those too but obviously they are more than just spy films

I don't tend to watch yankshit spy films but The Conversation is also very good.

I'm looking forward to seeing The Lighthouse. Hopefully it's good.

>another sjw based black man
>for some reason you defend him
Why? His son is shit, this will be shit.

Gyllenhaal and Amy Adams always give consistently good-to-great performances even in shitty movies.
It's not their fault the writing is horseshit.
NA was passable but A Simple Man was actually a pretty good film.
Id say he has some potential.
Also Nightcrawler was directed by a meh director (considering Roman J Israel Esquire) and Jake Gyllenhaal did a great performance, it was quite a good script but Gyllenhaal elevated it

It has great reviews out of Cannes so hopefully it's good. I read that it's quite funny and more of a psychological thriller than horror so i'm excited.

Since when Pattison is making kino?

Kenny knows when he's just doing it for the paycheck.

Attached: maxresdefault.jpg (1280x720, 46K)

Since Cosmopolis probably.

He already worked with Nolan you dumb fuck, praises and sucks his cock in the interviews many times.

Since he left Twillight, the guy is unironically /ourlad/ through and through

what was bad about it? at worst it was bland and mediocre

ive been wanting to rewatch that lately since I've been on a Gilliam kick
How is the series? I used to dismiss any series based on an existing ip but Fargo made me change my mind on that one (and Ash va the evil dead for the pilot episode)

Do what

Nolan has never made a good movie.
Not even a half-decent one. What a fucking pseud and a hack.
I really don't get why rebbit/normies love him so much.

Watch La Jetee by Chris Marker.

One of my most anticipated for sure
The VVitch remains a modern classic and maybe the only find other than Silence post-2010 that could hang with the older pantheon in terms of quality and execution

Now this is heavy bait

>normies
go back you newfaggot tourist

That shot is enough for me to want to watch it
Dafoe is supremely under-utilized and is always fantastic as well
Hyped

Ah, yes, because "normie" is such a new fucking word, and totally not invented on this chinese fingerpainting forum in the first place at all.
You and Nolan are both retarded faggots.

>calls out cringe with cringe pic
what a timeline we live in

>Pattinson
Yup. I'm thinking it's based.
It was already going to be NolanKino because it's Nolan (fight me Nolan h8rs) but with Robert in it it's confirmed kino.

Film*

I kinda want him to make a prequel to Inception, although it's kind of late now. First few trailers and early info marketed it as a mind/spy/espionage/heist movie....Would be kino to see a real extraction.

He's right though, the term is normalfag. normie is a literal newfag bastardization of normalfag

>dunkirk was bad
yikes

Yeah, in the same way fag is a bastardization of faggot. Just kill yourself.
"Normie" also originated here, by the way, on /r9k/.
Fucking children larping as oldfags to justify your terrible taste in movies.

Yes.

Dafoe is on a kino roll this year. Some reviews claim that his performance in The Lighthouse is his best performance ever. He is also in Tommaso by Abel Ferrara, he should also be shooting new Ferrara film. He is also in new Edward Norton film, Wes Anderson film and Dee Rees film. He should also be in new Paul Schrader western. Last year he had At Eternity's Gate where he was fantastic.

Attached: nolan.gif (480x270, 2.87M)

Genius.

> in the same way fag is a bastardization of faggot
That would be the comparison like normalfag and normalfaggot, not normie and nrormalfaggot you post 2016 crossposting tourist.

Normie is a PC facebook word that was never prevalent here.

>when you just want to make kino, but have contractual obligations

Debicki is one of my fav actresses (Hasn't starred in any truly good films yet though)
Pattison one of my fav actors, constantly delivering kino (The Rover, Good Time, Cosmopolis, Maps to The Stars)
Not sure about Nolan though, he strikes me as a director who makes films exclusively to impress plebs who then think they are intelligent for "getting" them

Pattinson is based. Check out High Life, The Lost City of Z and Damsel, if you haven't seen them already. He gives great performances in them.

SNEED

god I hope this happens.

Bane?

man she really has no good films?
if i wanna see her in something you got no recs at all?

Not him but Night Manager is good and Widows is watchable.

More genreshit from pleb pandering genreshit master

Newsflash: Every movie has plot holes in them, and shitting on a movie for having them is the most pointless, autistic and CinemaSins-tier approach for judging a movie.

He makes good mainstream blockbusters, which has become something of a lost art as of late so don't knock it. He doesn't come across as thinking his films are any smarter than they are, that seems to be something movie critics and the actors/crew of his own films seem to do more than Nolan himself. He openly talks about how, like, Inception was just a idea he had when we was much younger and decided to put out finally because he had enough industry clout to put it together. His favourite movie is On Her Majesty's Secret Service. He's not some zany arthouse wildcard like Leos Carax or Lars Von Trier but he's not a hack either. Imagine seeing Memento when it actually came out at the time, when films like the Matrix and Seven had only just been a thing, and pretend you wouldn't have been mindblown by the structure and twist ending.

Yes, sure also not every movie is only focused on the plot. Nolan's films are usually plot driven. Also the plot hole that was mentioned would change the whole dynamic of the final sequence. If you spend so much time setting that shit up you could at least follow it through. It's not only the plot hole, it's the way he structures his films.

>spy thriller

Serious question, what kind of plebbian call of duty 007 playing stupid FUCK goes to the cinema for a "spy" movie?

>Debicki

YES

The people that go to superhero movies

>And this is the same guy who probably complains about Jordan Peel not letting white people star in his films

>based Pattinson
I don't care that Pattison was the Twilight guy, but what as he done that makes everyone jerk him off?

Lost City of Z
Good Time

>He openly talks about how, like, Inception was just a idea he had when we was much younger and decided to put out finally because he had enough industry clout to put it together
You mean Nolan came up with Paprika when he was younger?! What a legend

Adding to this, Childhood of A Leader

"How bad do you want our awards Christopher?"

Everything after Twilight.

even remember me?

>memento is by far his most overrated
Isn't that film objectively incredible from a filmmaking perspective?

Bad film, but Rob was good in it. He is usually good even if the film is not that great like Life and Damsel. In the case of Damsel he single-handedly carries the first half of the film, making the film actually good. Later without his presence the film becomes mediocre.

Jesus fucking christ. I should start compiling a list of cringey quotes from Nolan fanboys

This is also the case with High Life. Shit film but he still gives a great performance. I imagine it will be the same with this film

Debicki is so beautiful, bros. I hope this is her big break.

>Paprika
Is Nolan suppose to be aware of chinese cartoons?

I disagree, i quite liked High Life. The plot mechanics of the plot make very little sense but the oppressive atmosphere was great. The scene with Robert and the baby were fantastic it's a shame that the film went a bit downhill after that. Still i loved the scene with the ship full of dogs.

Dunkirk was mediocre and so was the Batman trilogy

thanks bud

What a contrarian truly based.

This is gay too

everything nolan has ever made ranges from unwatchable to mediocre, if you think otherwise you're an easily entertained 80 iqer

I stopped watching Nolan after that retarded movie called Inception. A movie about dreams with Michael Bay sensitivity. He is by far the most overrated director on the planet bar none... But of course the most annoying thing about him is his bland homo fanclub. If you are a fan of Nolan you either have no perception of quality cinema or you are a retard. Its simple.

Based and redpilled.

Found the Virgin^

Good time

>another Baneposting Expanded Universe(BEU) entry
Based
and Redpilled

So Aiden Gillen, /ourguy/ is in it?

Caine is the only good actor, and he's too old.

Pattinson is also good.

Honestly a thriller with Nolan at the helm sounds like it will be a lot of fun and I like most of those actors

His son isn't.

It's either that or a generic spy thriller weve seen a million times?
Maybe I'm underestimating Nolans ability though

Nolan's talent is all in the ideas. He's pretty bad at actually executing them. He should just write scripts with some supervision.

>Debicki is one of my fav actresses (Hasn't starred in any truly good films yet though)
then you should watch (or rewatch) widows

Following - 9/10
Memento - 8/10

Dunkirk - 6/10

THE PRESTIGE - 10/10

It’s literally better than Saving Private Ryan

The hardest thing about Nolan is that he reads like a modern poet (in a bad way) because he works with Presentational Symbolism, instead of Discursive Symbolism, with set terms and components which form the whole.

Forget the samefags. Dunkirk sucked ass

He has a lot of films that are fine though. What do you mean he cant execute them

>most overrated director
That's not Tarantino

>instead of Discursive Symbolism *which has* set terms and components which form the whole.

>debicki
more like DEBLACKEDI

I think 'TENET' could be a hit if it returns Nolan to the realm of socialites/spies... there, Presentational Symbolism is more of an asset than in a war or sci-fi film. I would like more comedy though, along with the suspense he returned to for Dunkirk. Victorian novels and Hitchcock would be a nice frame of reference, but in a more thoroughly American mould.
