They wanted to subvert your expectations by killing Thanos in the first five minutes but also have Thanos as the final villain.
Also the final and only snap should have been bringing everyone back from being snapped away, and it should have been made by Tony, not Hulk. That should have been his final "I am Iron Man" haha sacrifice to bring everyone back to then overwhelm Thanos' invasion.
