HBO just hired you to make their next Got, based off any science fiction/fantasy book. What do you pick and who do you cast

Books are for nerds. I make my own original series titled Tales from Brappolis.

Fire and Blood by George RR Martin and I cast only actors from Game of Thrones.

The Dark Tower. There's no way I could fuck it up worse than that movie did.

Henry Cavill as Robert Baratheon
Chris Hemsworth as Rhaegar Targaryen

Attached: Robert-Baratheon-vs-Raeghar-Targaryen.jpg (1568x1013, 141K)

emmmm I had sex so I don't really read books, so.... yeah

leave that to the virgins lol

This. Reading is literally stupid

The Darwath Trilogy

Leave magickino to me

I'd say Gormenghast but I'm not sure how it wouldn't be dry as fuck on the screen. I know the BBC did an adaptation but I haven't seen it/assume it's not great.

This guy's prose reads like a parody of George RR Martin's.

Tell me who wants to watch 60 minutes of braid tugging every week?

Nine Princes in Amber. The plebs wouldn't be able to cope and it'd be cancelled after two seasons, I'm convinced.

Attached: 126581_1.jpg (450x653, 60K)

Attached: 51v63O8hFjL._SY283_BO1,204,203,200_[1].jpg (498x285, 28K)

Raymond E Fiest's rift war saga.
I'd cast nobodies.

Attached: 13812._UX75_.jpg (75x123, 5K)

The Malazan Books of Conquest by Steven Erikson

A faithful reproduction of Starship Troopers. The diversity wouldn't be forced because that was a central concept in the book, and with a budget we'd finally get power armored space marines nuking bugs and gassing their nests.

Hyperion would actually be really cool to see. Alternatively, Ancillary Justice would be awesome as well.

Kafka on the Shore or any Murakami literature would be pretty kino.

Attached: gomfy.jpg (640x480, 31K)

The Black Company.

Shoot it horrors or war/magical Vietnam style. magic makes no sense to people on the ground and it just robs the soldiers of their friends. They are following around an insane warlock and slowly realize they are fighting for the bad guys. Narration absolutely wanted to give bits of context.

Attached: 220px-The_Black_Company.jpg (220x364, 25K)

Hyperion is close to unfilmable imo

Moon Is A Harsh Mistress

Sam Rockwell as Manny

Stormlight Archives
or Wheel of Time, but that's supposedly in development.

>tfw to intelligent for gayme of plebs

I thought the walking dead people were making this already?

This but Hammer Slammers for the Space Vietnam experience. The episodic nature lends itself well to a miniseries format as well.

~150 episode CGI-animated Horus Heresy done the style of LOGH

>samefagging

I know it's based on a kid's book but I really love this series.

That's just asking to get MeToo'd

Is that Donald Trump?

The ending of this book pissed me off so much that it ruined how much I enjoyed the stories throughout.

Dragonlance

>tannis will be a mullatto who experiences racism from whites
>sturm will be a black man who experiences racism from the racist nights of solamnia
>caramon as the beautiful black bull
>raistlin as the evil white man
>little kender as the tiny dicked white boy

it will be an achievement of diversity, a true piece de resistances.

Warhammer 40k

Attached: 1400385172627.jpg (1200x1440, 332K)

Out the way fantasy fucking shits

Hiro Protagonist here to kick ass and deliver pizza, and he's all out of pizza

Jurassic Park, done correctly.

Duh

Attached: Darkness_That_Comes_Before.jpg (282x419, 32K)

It's fantasy-esque. I just want them to do it considering they're good with violence

Attached: blood-meridian.jpg (389x600, 24K)

It would be SO fucking easy to stretch this out across at least 10 seasons without force or filler

One way or another I cast Benicio Del Toro in a leading but also disposable role to help advertise, then pad out the rest of the cast with talented nobodies

Attached: 5B8FC30A-4469-4863-BEDE-D0C254B3F218.jpg (276x475, 32K)

i cannot imagine how this would ever be done

If we are ripping off books, might as wall go with the OG Asimov and his Foundation series. The entire book series. It will be a vignette series, like the original novel. Each episode will be a self contained story, with a different cast, settings, themes, etc. but will also tell a larger geopolitical story in the background, along with callbacks and connections to other episodes. Some of the longer stories/books might get a 2 or 3 parter. We could probably get 20-25 episodes out of the books Asimove wrote, then we can start ripping off some of the fan books and stuff. Staring Sir Patrick Stewart as Hari Seldon

Attached: the-foundation-isaac-asimov-tv-series-skydance-apple-feat-1000x560.jpg (1000x560, 168K)

BASED
Gor is the thinking man's fantasy book series.

this is already happening

Came here to post this. It's fucking perfect.

>YT's sweaty jumpsuit

Trump being cut down by the true god emperor. There's worse downfalls for the guy.

Dragonlance. First three seasons are Autumn, Winter, Spring. Next three are the Twins Saga. If there's still legs, cram New Generation and Summer into final season. 5th Age spinoff series to follow.

the closet parallel to Donald Trump would probably be a powerful Ork warlord

He's stupid and thrives on mayhem but everything just sort of goes his way and anyone who fucks with him gets btfo. "It just works".

that book was so bad, the guy who recommended it to me was a total homo... so whats that say about you

God dammit you are right.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Foundation_(TV_series)
And look at this list of (((((producers)))))).
Hopes are pretty low.

>Giant muslim tells the jew a story about how he fucked his baby girl with all the graphic details
>the guy just sits there and listens while cradling said baby daughter

Bad choice for Rhaegar, Hemsworth would make a better Ned or if his hair was died, he'd make as good of a Robert, or better, as Cavill.

Rhaegar needs more of a refined type, like Matthew Goode or someone like that

came here for stormlight archives

This shit is probably the most mary sue-type drivel I've ever bothered to read.

>Unironically thinking Rothfuss is a good author and not a fat dickhead

This book was so fucking garbage I tossed it in the fireplace instead of reading it till the end. Boring world, Gary Sue MC, and a generic magic system.

Asimov was jewish in the first place you incel

Literally, I can't believe anyone with half a brain would find this even slightly compelling.

what was that fantasy series about a mouse with a sword we all read in the 90s? i'd adapt that with a million dollar per episode budget

Discworld with
Matt Smith as Rincewind
Ian McKellan as Death
Jeremy Irons as The Patrician
And Jim Henson's Creature Shop to do the Luggage

I was just about to say that. Redwall fights would be fucking kino. Plus no sex for soccer moms to write about.

>based off any science fiction/fantasy book

Obviously the Commonwealth Saga.

2 seasons, 1 per book, maybe 12 episodes a season. Done right it would ultimate kino.

Attached: images (17).jpg (639x480, 44K)

>malazan
literally unadaptable

Close, but title goes to Sword of Truth

The latest Carrera book, but from the perspective of that Pro-Earth/puppet coalition fighting against Carerra.

The amount of YAS SLAY QUEEN would be astounding.

The only answer.

Attached: bookino.jpg (276x420, 34K)

we should buy the rights to make a serie based on the mad max world.

then hire uknown actors to fill the roles since the IP is not exactly cheap.

other alternatives are a serie based on The Warriors.

dunno i have a gut feeling urban tribal post apocalyptic is the next thing.

The Chronicles of Thomas Covenant

Second. IMO will be greenlit soon, godwilling

How does that get past the PC commission?

its name is Braap

glorifying rape culture!!!!!!!

Only HBO would have the balls to do the Gore Burnelli fight scene justice

I think this could easily be the next Harry Potter or Game of Thrones.

Attached: 22826686679[1].jpg (1089x1500, 209K)

Rape means money.

>negro elves in bdsm gear
No thanks.

I feel the same way.
I guess it's best it's not raped by TV producers.

Attached: 1382404281037.jpg (225x225, 15K)

I know it's basically un-filmable but... DO IT, JUST DO IT

Attached: 6nLYuXA.jpg (1600x652, 370K)

gee thats a tall order an...
kek

It's much too clever and understated to be translated into film or TV.

Honestly surprised nobody has done Hyperion or at least tried. Is there even that much virtual reality stuff in the first book?

isnt Wheel of Time the one full of braid tugging and smug women?

It's a bunch of different stories from various POV with little relation to each other.
Also diversity of locations and set pieces makes it unfilmable without a massive budget I think.

BBC already did it.
It's not "epic" enough to be the next anything. Don't get me wrong, I think the books are beautiful and interesting and all, but they're also meandering and the characters are cartoons.

holy f*cking based

No demon cycle posted yet?

Attached: Demon Cycle.jpg (1000x1000, 193K)

Yeah I was thinking of the special effects budget but I guess there's that too

the years of rice and salt. each season is a reincarnation.

true my bad

Too controversial with retards that cannot die and mocking christianity.

Fuck Nynaeve.

If HBO threw money at this it would be one of the best 1 season series ever.

can I have a quick summary of this please?

The Gap Cycle by Stephen Donaldson. It's got everything: space pirates, space politics, lots of rape and sexual assault, plotlines about the very nature of sexual consent, transgenderism, etc. All without being whiny faggotry

Attached: big0553297600.jpg (304x500, 41K)

Dark Souls

Attached: 11293194.jpg (287x475, 89K)

Is Sanderson getting a tv deal yet? He seems like he’s on the cusp of reaching mainstream popularity.

A faithful rendition of Arthurian Legend could be really good, but almost everyone who touches it screws it up really bad.

I would watch a Wind Up Bird Chronicles miniseries desu

Some annoying characters here and there, but they get humbled and grow. The main character, the 'hero', has a lot of nuance and is even outright villainous for a while. The Aiel, the Aes Sedai--and hearing the songs involved? I'd fucking nut. No idea if the Amazon adaptation will be any good, but HBO can't fuck it up if the source material is complete, right?...Right...?

Attached: best.jpg (1400x2274, 371K)

A miniseries of this could have potential. They just really can't tone down any of it at all and capture McCarthy's prose.

Red pill me on Goblin King. Is he actually green or is goblin king like a title?

Workers in a large theme park like Universal Studios goes Lord of the Flies when they get cut off during a storm. They split off into tribes based on where they were working. The gift shop workers are the Deadpools based on a giant Deadpool cutout, there's a group who are basically pirates and follow a pirate code and have a working canon, there's the circus/funhouse group, a variety of random unaffiliated scavengers and a few other groups. (the princess funland group doesn't do great)

It's told in the form of interviews from survivors after the fact.

spoonfeed me please

You have an unhealthy proctophilia fetish user.

It would work perfectly with current audiences, but I'd only be interested in seeing Paula dish out justice and Mellanie fuck her way through the cast

Imagine working for Sauron for years, turning against Sauron, overthrowing Sauron, and then fucking Sauron because shes a cute girl and misunderstood.

I dont know who the fuck to cast as Croaker, but I wish I was that lucky motherfucker.

not hin but go fuck yourself faggot retard. SnowCrash is cyberkino.

I can't be the only one who read this here right? It's baby's first fantasy book, started the series in 3rd grade, super easy to read, still has some detailed fights and decent world building.

Attached: Deltora Quest.jpg (331x499, 40K)

Back to /pol/ with your boyfriend, Schweik.

Attached: yv37l5ijbncnabpnw0an.png (800x405, 418K)

God I hope so. I'd be super gay for some live, BIG DICK Kaladin action.

read them when i was a kid, cant remember anything about it though

I saw the anime back on the day, it was pretty good.

Yeah, I know it's being filmed right now by Villeneuve, but I want it as HBO series, cos that's the only way we are going to reach the sequels and witness the batshit plot of God Emperor

Attached: pic279251.jpg (219x300, 15K)

>not reading is white supremacist
rent free schlomo, rent fucking free

I'd make a movie trilogy of the Quantum Thief books.

/pol/ is obsessed with this book, is it that good?
as far as I know it's sex, blood and betrayal like asoiaf but with magic called "spices" and alien races

The Baroque Cycle. No fucking idea who I'd cast for most roles but as per Yea Forums rules Dappa has to be Idris Elba.

I'm guessing it'll be beautiful, but ultimately fail to communicate any of the themes Herbert did.

There aren't any alien sapients.

There are space muslims and the setting is a neoreactionaries wet dream.

>Grey guards are the nameless faceless henchmen baddies
>Lief is the name of the main character
>Have these ambiguous weapons called Blisters which are like exploding sacks of acid or some shit you throw at people
>The 3 main characters fight in a melee tournament, all make it to like top 5 at least, turns out it was all a trap or something and they are lead out of the arena through some passage that nearly kills them or some shit
literally all I remember.

Dune is nothing like AOIAF. The first book is the prototypical Heroes Journey with themes of predestination and neoluddism.

Then it goes fucking bonkers, God Emperor has to be read to be believed.

Fuck you. Nyn was best girl.

Herbert was a genius-lunatic.

is WoT worth reading? I've heard it's anti-men and that doesn't really sound like something I want to read 14 books of

based wolfag

I have no disagreement with that. His son can fuck off though.

Literally Moses in space.

It's about actual equality as in, both genders compliment each other while being different. Too bad everyone completely misses the point, some think it's anti men and feminists think it's misogynist.

No idea why /pol/ would be obsessed with it, the good guys are basically space muslims and brown people.
But yeah, it's good. Its not really comparable to Ice and Fire, it doesnt depend so much on shock value, twists and subverting tropes but rather on great world-building and batshit lore

>sex, blood and betrayal in space
that sounds more like ringworld

Alex Jones would make a great Judge Holden, prove me wrong

>start from the black swordsman arc
>have it be like 5 episodes
>go to golden age arc
>golden age arc will be like 16 episodes
>each episode an hour long
>practical sets and props
>minimum cgi

Attached: CE99A2A1-E67F-44E6-A6AB-5AC30F032C9F.png (200x287, 129K)

>anything Niven getting adopted

Ringworld would be solid, too. He wrote in the age of serials, so he produced a lot of cool episodic content in the Known Space universe too.

The "stupidity" readers complain about is real - but mostly exaggerated and misinterpreted. Most of it is subtle characterization through first-person views.

how could it possibly be any better than a good animated adaptation

so wich one is it?

why hasn't this been adapted into anything yet? Is it because it's the ultimate red pill?

Attached: type4.png (400x595, 123K)

As long as we're fantasizing I'd adapt the Emerson Ngu adventures by L. NEIL Smith. Mostly because it's a well told story of the individual against the system. And it's a big fuck-you to the identity politics/socialism-driven narrative being pushed today.
The casting? I'd have to think on that.

Attached: 518s0d21iOL.jpg (333x500, 60K)

The gay boy from Call me by Your Name as Rhaegar
Tye Sheridan as Ned
Need another guy in their early 20s max but an absolute unit who can pull off charisma to be Robert. Can't think of one. L

I dont see how the two posts contradict each other

Worms*

Redwall

When he forgets to shoehorn his commie nonsense in, he writes really good stuff.

even if it were animated it would be nearly impossible to communicate such a gargantuan plot. Watchers would have to pay attention to literally everything.
On second thought, might be great for the GoT speculation youtube crowd. Anyway it'll never happen as Erikson doesn't want it iirc

I loved The City and The City, but I know it literally wouldn't be possible to adapt

I read The City & The City, absolute fucking hack.

they tried in that BBC show, laughable results though.

LOGH, but better.

His short story collection is better than his novels.

This, except I dropout after Spring to make a Forgotten Realms show on Showtime.

I never saw it but they did make a miniseries on BBC, but yeah most of his stuff is just way too wild

Why would you do that, when you could do Kraken or either of the first two Bas-Lag books?

Seems dumb.

which one? Both are fantastic

no way they could do anything in Bas-Lag live action, agree City & the City is his weakest

Looking for Jake, it's the best single author anthology since Fire Watch by Connie Willis

I'm just assuming our definition of live-action includes lots and lots of CGI and greenscreen.

>tfw want to be a sci-fi writer but vocabulary is trash

lmao I had no idea. why would they even try? how did they think they could properly convey one place that has been mentally divided into two places on the screen? like, of course it'd seem absolutely ridiculous

Iirc some movie rights were sold kinda recently so who knows

You know that's not a hard thing to fix, right? Just write what you can with the words you have while also learning new ones. That way your writing skills will get better with your language skills.
Also, a good vocab typically comes from reading a lot, which as an aspiring author you should already be doing.

I second this, but I'm pretty sure filming it would be extremely difficult.

They can't even get it right with animation, how the fuck are the retards who can barely make a competent low fantasy series going to justice to everything in the Manga?

I don't read much. Probably just choose some half finished series by some fat fuck that won't finish them so I can force his story/characters to follow modern ideals about strong female/non-male and minority characters.

If you wanted anime you could have just said Brandon Sanderson

Do you live in a city? I've found that the cityfolk I know got more out of it than the country mice, and more easily grasped his points about how we all "unsee" things every day, like that homeless dude or the person crying on the train.

Thanks for the encouragement. I just feel like whenever I actually try to write prose, I'm punching above my weight class. Like, I write in a way that I would never speak or something.

Imagine living in a place where you have to ignore homeless people.

Two seasons enders game/speaker for the dead series.

Would make it in Korea on bleak islands

Attached: C33D125E-C4FD-4231-AA9B-BC4AEC0C999A.jpg (494x540, 60K)

Why would anyone want a got prequel on Roberts rebellion. We already know everything there is to know about it.

The Left Hand of Darkness might be too real for modern SJW's.

Tales from the Black Company

Night's Watch shenanigans, but with multiple locations!

Unironically an adaptation could make for kino the likes of which has rarely been seen on this earth. It's even set up perfectly for an episodic series

I've lived in NYC for years now, and, while I try to appreciate the many unique opportunities I've found here, deep down I know this whole place is a fucking mistake. Human beings can be OK but when you pile this many on top of each other it's really not pretty.

Broken Earth.

Thee Hugo awards in a row AND it's written by a PoC woman? Instant hit.

>Hyperion
They'd never get enough money to do the Shrike justice, let alone all the other crazy shit.

To add on to this imagine living in a place where you have to worry about homeless whilst the non homeless citizens in that city will advocate for foreign nationals over their homeless

i ditch the gay ass science fiction shit and make a series based on the best kino ever written

Attached: 71Tbeor5pgL.jpg (950x1000, 142K)

So ya I know there was an Ender's Game movie, but the books after Ender's Game delves way more into existentialism, religion, and psychological disorders. Didn't the main character get cucked by some sand nigger?

Yes

It's not all jews that are bad you damn anti-semite incel. That being said gas the kikes race war now.

As a fan of 40k, pretty much anything but this. The Horus Heresy was interesting when it was mentioned in tidbits of background lore before it was fleshed out. Now everything happened because Lorgar was a bitch, Magnus was a fool, Russ had no brain and the Emperor was the worst space-dad ever.

Smart man. I fell for the meme and kept chugging through it expecting it to get decent, of course it never did. It's literally just a less fun Harry Potter

Gaunt's ghosts made in the style of band of brothers.

haven't read or watched, but I get the sense that this is a series for children. is it still worth reading as an adult?

We could just say "Stephenson writes books like they're movies for nerds".

Seven Eves would be good, because you could cast NdT and he probably wouldn't realize he was being mocked.

>series for children
Sure if you think genocide, general slaughter of humans by an alien species, rape, and sex between a robot and an "imaginary person" is for children.

kino book cover

They could make it even better if they rewrite some of the Sanderson parts imo

Either Codex Alera or Gaunt Ghost.

You’re a fucking retard but Y: The Last Man would obviously be kino. Shame it’s been burning in development he’ll for years

i don't care if it has sex and violence, that isn't why I read things. I want to read something that is intelligent and interesting. something that is written at an adult level regardless of the content therein.

Did you not even read the original post?
>delves way more into existentialism, religion, and psychological disorders.

It's actually pro-men.
The women (Aes Sedai) can't even retire peacefully in the country without committing some colossal fuckup or stabbing their peers in the back for no reason.
The Aiel women are better, but are more or less men with boobies anyways.

I did, but I'm not convinced that you read mine. I do not care what subjects it contains if the writing is childish and bland like books for children and teens inevitably are. is the writing childish and bland?

it matches today's cuckold culture, that's for sure

Im a retard but youre agreeing with what I said?
what was controversial about that?

Not in my opinion, but I have no point of reference regardless. I don't know what kind of books you think are "childish and bland".
I'm not the fucking author of the books so I have no reason to try to continue to convince you to read the books anyway.

>Start off your new epic fantasy series with the MC raping a random woman
I can see that going over well in current year

shit son, if you're gonna go Dan Simmons at least pick his masterpiece, Illium and Olympos

'Terry Pratchett's Night Watch'
Steve Buscemi as Nobby Nobbs. Too lazy to think about others, but Buscemi always was my dreamcast for Nobby ever since I read Guards! in high school

It's pretty boring IMO.

> The Horus Heresy was interesting when it was mentioned in tidbits of background lore before it was fleshed out
This hasn't been the case since the mid-90s with Index Astartes.

So I vote for this.

I'd be really tempted to skip right past the really boring framing story right into 'A Dream of X' but I'm not sure if it would convey the whole 'I will find you again, in the dark' theme.

The Icewind Dale trilogy is much more adaptable

Inheritance trilogy

All the Demons are white
All the Witches are black
All the Pixies are East Asian
All the Imps are South Asian
All the Goblins are Native American
And everybody plays it WAY, WAY over the top campy, like the 60s Batman series

Alright lads recommend me a good fantasy book and it needs to be a standalone tell me the most kino one

Id actually love to see this live action.

Pern's dragonshit

If you haven't given it a go, the audiobook is one of the best performed I've heard and essentially makes the book a play. Fantasy venice would be a great setting to use though. Shame the author has gone the way of fat fuck and well never see the end.

oh no ive heard all except the 4th book, great series.

It sounds like everyone working on this show loves the wheel of time, so I'd hope they'd make a true to book adaptation.

fuck that, spin off series where based matt gets actual shit done and fucks bitches is what they should make

I read this after hearing good things. I can see why you're saying Kvothe was a gary stu, although he fucked up many times and was extremely flawed, even if he himself doesn't realize it (and therefore the viewer as it's told from his perspective).

But my problem with the book was that it was 85% exposition, 10% climax and 5% resolution. I bought Wise Man's Fear but haven't touched it....and when's the third coming out? This series is almost as dead as ASoIaF

Based retard

>slowly realize they are fighting for the bad guys
I'm currently at chapter 5 reading this and by the end of the chapter 1 they realized they are fighting for the bad guys.

>no planescape

It would be glorious but is never going to happen:
basically a dudes show. The heroes and villains are demigod chads. The legions are 100% male. The non astartes characters are completly secondary to any meaningful aspect of the Heresy. IF you shoehorn some bitches you know their story is going to be bad and unnecesary. The only way to fit women is changing the basics of the setting and that would be a shame.

So yeah, it's not going to happen guys.

Man, I need to re-read Hyperion. That shit blew my mind back in high school and it was so good that I'm still scared to read the rest of the series

Attached: 1466477457305.png (584x623, 826K)

artificial bodies, orgies, and ritualistic knife fights with xeno scum

would be perfect and comfy

is book of the new sun adaptable

>is book of the new sun adaptable

It would probably be boring.

>So yeah, it's not going to happen guys.

I can't imagine why you'd say that.

Attached: 4567567.jpg (768x826, 275K)

asoiaf was my first fantasy series.
what to read next?

Hyperion is pure kino but is pretty unfilmable.

>first season is just the book stretched over 24 episodes with tons of scenery filler and small changes
>retcon the book's end and just keep it going for however long you want
It'd work well and you know it.

Lots of braid-tugging and skirt-straightening. It's aight.

t. Someone on Book 11.

Tripod Trilogy. Cult following, pretty easily translatable, with enough real violence/stakes/sex that it could replace GoT. Plus it blends together fantasy and sci-fi by having the tech seem "magic" to the humans, because it's so advanced it's almost beyond comprehension.
I'd also second Joe Abercrombie, with the specific one I'd pull being his Shattered Sea trilogy. While his other works are better, I think Shattered Sea is imminently adaptable, and part of this exercise is ease in adaptation.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Riverworld

The riverworld series would make great television

Attached: 16536.jpg (301x475, 41K)

John Carter of Mars.

I agree that this would make a good one-season miniseries.
Small aside: I was watching the Urusei Yatsura feature Beautiful Dreamer when it came out, and halfway through it I was expecting characters to turn up as mummified corpses just like in "Ubik." That's how close the vibe was.

Or Robin Hobbs tawny man/farseer trilogies, its pulpy fantasy just like GoT, would adapt well

Is this the book that opens with a fucking wrestling match? Pretty fun stuff but man you could tell the author had no idea how to introduce the setting.
>um I'll include a dreaming narrator who just fucks off 2 chapters in

Senlin Ascends

Already made

Nah. You know that's impossible.
youtube.com/watch?v=GQWSnV6HcXM
Can't find ingles trailer. Guess they nuked it real good. I wonder why...
And why would you retcon Wishgranter ending? I think it was perfect.
You can easily do your own thing in the setting, there is a lot of room for it.

I think Paul and his people are all white, iirc he has blue eyes.

/Pol/ likes it because it is the most trad scifi. Lean and militaristic aristocratic house vs ultra decadent one. Hierarchical society with a rejection of materialism in favour of valour and conquestion, tradition, religious piety and the stabiltiy across the stars. Kino desu, would support.

Its incredible how creative people were in the 20th century, everyone is a fucking retard these days, no great writers, no great artists, just fucking nothing.

The Chain of Dogs.

>Coltaine putting Duiker in risky situations just so the common soldier and civilian will have there story told
>Duikers relationship with the female marine who's name we don't know
>Piece of paper they found on Duikers after he was killed was the name of the marine
>It didnt mean anything to the soldiers

fuck its so great, also

>Children are dying

Is is worth even reading the Dune series if it degenrates into a hot mess thanks to his son? Should I just read the first one?

Pick any book series that's already finished and not something by a lazy fatass who's famous for not delivering on time

I mean this wasn't meant to be a "fuck yeah" moment. It was meant to show how obscenely crazy the Imperium is

sanderson is literally dbz tier children's fiction
which would probably make it an astounding success among normies and weebs alike... genius

Sabriel
alex daddario

The Atreides are basically Greek and the Freman were from another planet and the only description he writes for them say lithe and leathery tanned skin

?

>Duikers relationship with the female marine who's name we don't know
You know HBO would fuck this up and have her tell him her name right away. But when Truth and the gang were looking at the crucified bodies and found that I was devastated. I think the Chain of Dogs storyline hit me harder than the Red Wedding.

After GoT I can definitely see such a thing being possible on screen but the trick is finding people who are passionate about that vision.

Cast it Yea Forums

The first one is top fucking tier so yeah, feel free to read it and stop right there if you want.

necromancy and tits hell yes

Jeremy Irons was horrible as Vetinari.

Charles Dance was near perfect.

The one that attracts to the broadest audience yet has a unique story line

I came here to make the same suggestion. But then I realised I don't want anything like HBO even looking in Robin's direction. Especially with the current social/political climate, how the hell would they handle the Fool without everyone losing their minds.

I was also considering Raymond E Feist's books, maybe the Riftwar Saga/Krondor series. But that universe is maybe a bit too expanded to feel like a television series could do it justice.

+1 for Malazan Book of the Fallen

Hemsworth is too chunky to be Rhaegar. The guy originally cast to play Rhaegar looked the part pretty well I think (the one that did not end up on TV).

I have this weird OCD hatred of not wrapping up a series and it really bugs me, but I hear Dune was a standalone until Frank went after them shekels, so I might.

I get whoever is still living from Carnivale and just make it season 3.

Where del Toro failed, I shall suceed. 24 episodes, 1 hour long each, faithful adaptation to the source material like the anime was.

Attached: index.jpg (251x201, 11K)

Don't read the other books, because they become "good" guys.

The Reality Dysfunction series was better.

you mean one of the best sci-fi satires to come out this century? I'm detecting levels of onions at least 3 standard deviations above the mean.

checked, but those trips won't save you from being proved wrong. The book is kinography and is one of the few legit examples of a SciFi writer being able to drop his soi fascination with lasers and time travel and make a political commentary fit into an action narrative. Go read a book you fucking pleb.

Hmm, prime idea...
HBO, hire this man

Attached: 1541852784643.jpg (511x671, 41K)

it's perfect
Bitches love vampires and magic and shit, but it's Russian novel series, so men are still men and women are women for the most part.
Writting is competent, and it feels more like a cold-war spy novel than your typical YA drivel. All the ebin keikakus run by thousand year old mages and morally questionable choices keep it interesting.
The movie was ok, but it's just seeping mid 2000's edgyness and story is all over the place.

My dream project

Attached: 13014277_o_1_1.jpg (520x772, 82K)

8 episode season 1 ending with Culling of Stratholme, avoiding cgi where possible, maybe some orcs and ghouls but not too fanciful. Not sure on Jaina pick, probably ought to look younger than Dormer.

Attached: frozenthrone.jpg (1136x376, 133K)

Canon ending is he got his wish and the world became a better place without the zone, which is why the book ended immediately there.

*competent enough
And Russians aren't the only ones who make shit like this...
How would you even call it? Alt-history isekai?

This. TV badly needs quality scifi

Attached: 51crAajWNTL.jpg (328x500, 55K)

I'm reading the Black Company saga and I have the need to see One-Eye and Goblin fucking around with magic.

>"Happiness for everybody and let no one be left behind!"
>world became a better place without the zone, which is why the book ended immediately there
No.

Holy shit, I read those in the late '80s. I'd watch that.

This, then a few months later, I'd also watch the porn parody entitled, 9 Princes in Amber.

lol the author is a complete melt

Whats the premise of shattered sea is it in the same universe as First law
