Yes, they'll zerg rush him, all naked and sweaty and gross, their small cocks turned into the big cocks. His two bodyguards will manage to drop a few but they'll get torn to pieces by the rest, as predicted by based chief miner. Then the minister of coal will become the minister of cum because they'll bukake all over him
>kills your child with love
Why couldn't the doctor just explain to her what radiation is and its effects ffs?
why is even a debate?
RBMK is the best name. It's easily searchable. It sticks out visually and it fits perfectly.
I fucking love her. Sucks when you read about what happened to baby.
Yea Forums contains a trillion billion of these bullets

I interned at SNOLAB. That place was comfy af. Felt like the safest place on Earth. Way less than 3.6 roent down there.
Praise be again to the based miners.

I can live with that
I think I'd rather live a long lonely life than find out a girl loved me that much
because that would mean I was slowly melting from ARS

Ask him why there's graphite on the ground
Don't give him ideas. I don't like how much he's sexualizing the core.
These threads are what make Yea Forums good. We've only two episodes left, it's a short ride but the memes that came out and are still coming out of this will make /RBMK/ radiate for another 20000 years

eastern yurtrash wimminz do this all the time, sneak in hospital wards outside of visiting hours and the like, walking in and about and contributing to contamination
yeah but seriously though. he dies so fast and they have to bury him in such a way and not a single thought about "how did my husband go from solid state beautiful man i love to liquid state buried in a special coffin and concrete poured over him" enters her mind? its just seems off.

Based. You should probably leave her with a permanent scar somewhere to remind her of this and tell her how you would have done the same for her but arent sure now.
Why was wifey holding a pair of shoes at the funeral?
Found it.
>Maintenance procedures required that the main central control rod be manually withdrawn a few inches to reconnect it to its drive mechanism. At 9:01 p.m., this rod was suddenly withdrawn too far, causing SL-1 to go prompt critical instantly. In four milliseconds, the heat generated by the resulting enormous power excursion caused fuel inside the core to melt and to explosively vaporize. The expanding fuel produced an extreme pressure wave which blasted water upward, striking the top of the reactor vessel with 460,000 foot-pounds (620,000 J). The slug of water was propelled at about 159 feet per second (48 m/s) with average pressure of around 500 pounds per square inch (3,400 kPa).
>This extreme form of water hammer propelled the entire reactor vessel upward at about 27 feet per second (8.2 m/s), while the shield plugs were ejected at about 85 feet per second (26 m/s). With 6 holes on the top of the reactor vessel, high pressure water and steam sprayed the entire room with radioactive debris from the damaged core. A later investigation concluded that the 26,000-pound (12,000 kg) (or 13 short tons) vessel had jumped 9 feet 1 inch (2.77 m), parts of which struck the ceiling of the reactor building before settling back into its original location.
Poor guy part:
>The spray of water and steam knocked two operators onto the floor, killing one and severely injuring another. The No. 7 shield plug from the top of the reactor vessel impaled the third man through his groin and exited his shoulder, pinning him to the ceiling.

I ghosted a girl because she was contaminated from this incident. She was awesome, energetic, funny, and cultured. I saw that she had a thyroidectomy scar, asked where she was born, Belarus 1986 in May. It was all over after that. I'm a doctor, I know what the birth defect rate is among people like that. Yeah I guess but she doesn't know it. She used to be abused by her parents and had a history of with heroin until she got clean against her will. Dropped out of college because of it too. I guess the only place she has now is with me and I resent her dependency on me for some weird reason.
Hey I might be late but I still showed up, Comrades.
Why are g*rmans so afraid of nuclear power stations? They don't explode or anything
the reactor's so bright he gotta wear shades
There were safety standards. There were shims manufactured to keep the parts safely separated, but this guy decided screwdrivers were fine. And then he died after making that mistake.
>there was graphite on his pubis

No, that SL-1
It happened in real life user.
Well obviously she was energetic, she's riddled with unstable isotopes.
shit they should've covered the core in foetuses
>>i promptly punch her in the face and choke her out while imitating Tony Soprano as he did to Gloria Trillo with "i'll fucking kill you!"
I knew I was going to read something retarded but god fucking damn it user
What did it mean by this?
The half life of this general is 24000 years, so perhaps we should just say "Not within our lifetimes."
Just finished ep. 3
Jesus that was difficult to watch
That's why we love you. Now go up to the roof.
Dyatlov's name is derived from dyatel, a woodpecker, which is also slang/insult for someone who is stupid and doesn't see something obvious
What happened to that guy who looked like moldy pizza?

They might shut us in a sarcophagus, but we will be trapped with our reactorchan.
do we get to watch John Cusack melt later on in the movie?
How do I know you're Italian?
Laffed.
What sort of workout do I need to do to get this kind of body?
If she's real then yeah, sounds like she's highly dependent because she has made some stupid decissions, unfortunately that may also make her prone to suicide.

Yes, but it not very gory sadly...
It's funny, I've read about the Chernobyl accident in detail every year for years, but seeing it in TV form really makes me realize than humanity managed to create something more horrible than any horror movie.
>Make a little mistake at the office one night and pretty soon half the continent is covered with invisible death dust meanwhile people who show up to help turn into human pot roasts in two weeks because there's a molecular fire in the building that turns the building blocks of organic life into pla-dough and will still be detectable long after humanity is extinct
They should have just given this dude a bullet
I'm black guys...I am showing symptoms!
Good idea.
Get this reddit out of my RBMK thread NOW.

As long as your shits are still regular you might be fine, still might want to get it looked at though.
Is this a BRAAAAAAAAAP webm?
then I retract my previous statement
I just assumed that since it was John Cusack and it looked like that kind of movie, he just magically took a body full of ionizing radiation and was just fine
What is everyone gonna cheer?
He got like lethal dose x4. He was glowing in the dark. She did not listen to the doctors telling her not to touch shit.
...
So main guy really killed himself, was it to avoid cancer or did he really leak tapes or whatever?
get some medical grade cesium and put it in their doorknobs.
He's really good in this too and him and Stellan Skarsgard have great chemistry no homo

Yes, he is shown as a hotshot who does something stupid and gets himself killed.

Here is the webm.
And here is a fun transformer
Glory to Reactor-chan and her Glow!
Bof
They should have given all of them a bullet, opioids being useless to combat the pain makes it even more horrifying, if I got ARS I'd make sure to kill myself while I'm still able to move around.
not really, abusive relationships can work fine on the longer term even if it turns into an habit, depression and suicide can come out of nowhere even when everything else in life looks good, and people with a history of hard drug abuse and other major bad decissions are prone to depression.
He put out those tapes and it was because the USSR was pretty much refusing to fix the other reactors that could cause another Chernobyl event.
yup, they're boned
mommy
>tfw I don't have to arrest anyone
>abusive relationships can work fine on the longer term
For the abuser
It was a nice but sad touch that he left his cat a bunch of food bowls
Who's more based, dosimeter general or buck nekkid miner?
I had this body for a year and here's how you get it
>eat at a 4000 calorie surplus, atleast 6000 calories per day
>ice cream, whole milk, eggs, pancakes, beef for days
>only lift for strength
>powerlift (recommend SS)
>do dynamic work like hammering tires and kettlebell swings
Congrats bro you got that body, you are an absolute unit
his glasses are too big for his eyes and it makes him look like an evil turtle
just saying
I hear it's hereditary.
>the success of GoT will give us a decade of crappy fantasy adaptations like SJWitcher
>the success of Chernobyl will hopefully give us a decade of Soviet dystopian Kino like the building of the Black Sea Canal or the Russian Revolution
He knew he was followed by the KGB. So he pressumed they'd barge into his apartment after some time with no contact and take care of the cat.
I guess.
She's so comfy.
I think everyone on that show who wears glasses have the same style.
>tfw no miner bros to work naked
I don't think it was about the death sentence but rather how he went along with the coverup at first, telling the IAEA that it was operator error that caused the accident, it totally destroyed his scientific career and nobody would take him seriously, so he recorded the tapes of the truth and killed himself hoping that it would shock people into fixing the problem, which it did.
>dystopian
you meant comfy didn't you comrade?
I'll have to report this to my superiors.
that guy was so good
like he embodied the sheer tedium of running a secret police in a state that everyone knows is on its last legs
They're literally going to need to shut it down with the rate AI is getting smarter at.
Welcome to Socialism. Everyone has the same car, glasses, and so on.
"take care of"
please don't. I can't go back to Siberia. I will give you my weekly ration of cigarettes, ok?
Why is it so much worse touching it than standing so close to it? Is radiation really that weak?
>what are fashion trends
read his wiki page
en.wikipedia.org
it was mostly guilt over the fact he felt he didn't do enough and his entire life was basically in shambles - reputation ruined and nobody listening to him on his proposals to increase safety etc.
Did you see how hurt Boris was when Legaslov ranted about the soviet bureaucrats
>*takes your pack of cigarettes*
>"heh, nothing personnel, comrade"
Does anyone have a screenshot of the guy who made the post about RBMK having posters who report posters and being a circle of accountability?
It's mutual co-dependency, otherwise why doesn't the abused just leave?
inverse square law, the greater the distance, the weaker the effect
Plus he killed all those miners for no reason.
That's a question all communist regimes ask, fashion trends are non-existant for them.
I've known my share of abusive marriages, both from family and friends, things ends in three ways, divorce, infidelity or thing settling down by them having children/grandchildren.
Shitty marriages are far more common than the idealized view of marriage, if it's more visible nowadays because divorces are more common you can just imagine how common they've been since humans first started marrying.
because they're traumatized, think things will change, or think they will come after them depending on previous threats made.
w-what? it wouldn't have melted through groundwater after all?
Oh I bet they took care of it alright.
>no loose ends
If you're a secret agent who routinely threatens people, tortures people and kills them and on your path a single cat came and you could save it pretty easily with little effort would you do it? I wonder....
They never used the heat exchanger. The hole was for nothing.
For the same reason drug addicts have a hard time kicking their habit, probably. It's just easier to endure all the shit the dependency gives you than completely change your lifestyle.
Is this accountable?
Come to Mars, comrade
>How could this happen, comrades?
>We're smarter than this
why does he have a stiffy in this scene?
Here you go, comrade
Not great, but not terrible.
It was a worst case scenario, digging the hole was necessary to prevent a truly catastrophic event
>everyone is provided with the same as a baseline but is perfectly capable of going out any purchasing something different from markets or stores
>On April 27, 1988, on the second anniversary of the Chernobyl NPP accident, he was found hanged in his apartment. A personal pistol remained in the table, but the academician chose to hang himself, the loop was tied professionally and with the help of a specific cable used by climbers. Academician Legasov was due the next day to announce his results of the investigation into the causes of the disaster.[citation needed]
Damn, he went out like a true scientist, with a knot only an intellectual could have tied even skipping the easier gunshot to the head.
Ehh, anyone on Mars will be living underground anyway to keep the air pressure high. The rads kick in during trips to the surface.
It's probably worse just living in Colorado where the radon seems in from underneath us.
Actors always give themselves a little tug so they're packing a semi before filming to make themselves look bigger
There is a solution to all those problems, if you so choose
Yes, and they are responsible for their own choices. I have 0 pity for someone who can't look after themselves.
I just want to say a big FUCK YOU to the user in the last thread who reminded me that gamma ray bursts are a thing.
SJWs ruin everything
someone needs to redo it with proper greentext
and replace the Comrade user! with Comrade Janny!
KGB jail
Because that wasn't the plan from the beginning. It wasn't even Legasov's plan. Legasov try to add liquid nitrogen from the holes in pool-bubbler. It did not work because the nitrogen could not reach corium and was ventilated out pretty quickly. The plan with the tunnel was to make reinforcing concrete slab. It was mostly Velikhov's idea.
so if global warming is real and we wipe out the ozone layer does that mean we'll be irradiated?
and a big FUCK YOU to you for reminding me
Can anyone recommend me some good Soviet kino besides this and The Death of Stalin?
>I have 0 sympathy for other human beings experiencing hardships
I'd tell you to have sex, but it wouldn't help
how fucked did Dyatlov get? he lived another 10 years iirc
There are things that happen outside of someone's control. You clearly have no ability to empathize with it, and I hope no one close to you ever has to go through that sort of abuse, drug or spousal or otherwise.
the submarine one with sean connery
What is a gamma ray burst? Something that can happen to me randomly?
Stalingrad (Enemy at the Gates)
Gorky Park was good. Murder mystery that takes place in the USSR.
Dr Zhivago
K-19 and Red October ( ) are soviet submarine movies, very enjoyable
Don't worry it's not real, plants will eat the excess carbon
Tarkovsky
The climate change and ozone holes are two completely different phenomena that only slightly overlap. The ozone layer is recovering now since we started to regulate freon and some other compounds.
Pity is not the same as empathy. I empathize but why bother pitying a person who doesn't even pity themselves. If people don't want to be helped you can't help them.
I did, he killed himself. It sucks, but ultimately you can extend as much help as you can and it still won't make a difference.
idk some dumb space nerd shit
Based
Cringe
why didn't the hospital euthanize the firemen? i'd rather a quick bullet to the head instead of spending the next few days(weeks?) melting to death.
Something that can happen to the entire solar system randomly.
>besides this
This is dogshit though, unrealistic revisionism in almost every scene, packed with SJW propaganda.
Reactor Based Miner Kino
Threadly reminder of what 3.6 roentgen will do to you. Don't be like Ouchie, who is definitely the man in this photo.
Yikes and propaganda pilled.
Come and see, 1985.
i watched it, now i feel irradiated
how can this show be so good i even like watson in it
No, Earth's magnetic field electrically charges the gases in the upper atmosphere generating a phenomena called plasmaspheric hiss which deflects most of the harmful radiation from the planet. The ozone protects us from ultraviolet light.
>Don't be like Ouchie, who is definitely the man in this photo.
Um excuse me sweaty
Threadly reminder that it's not Ouchie and you have no solid proofs.
They aren't liberals, they have some semblance of decency left.
POST YFW
>you saw the exposed core
How would he have handled the Chernobyl disaster?
It's post-soviet, but Бpaт is pretty damn cool, it's got a great main character and the film's quality is commendable since it was made with two shoestrings and a piece of gum.
How do butter and caviar sandwiches taste? Is there a certain bread you're supposed to use with it? I can't imagine using a crappy white bread.
I've seen the terror mentioned a bunch in these threads but I'm a poosey about spooky stuff.
Are there a lot of jump scares or is it more psychological horror?
Yeah Watson was way less insufferable in episode 3.
you're being irradiated every time sunlight hits you but global warming is different than ozone depletion. of course, the people on this board don't believe in it because you know, gotta own the libs lol.
There's plenty of planet destroying cosmic events that could wipe out the earth, I wouldn't worry about it
Where 3.6 posts above the limit
It wouldn't have happened in the first place. Stalin was very knowledgeable about science and would never have authorized something like it.
probably similar Gorbachev, except he would have had just about everyone who knew killed after it was contained
Not alot of jump scares IIRC, mostly a crushing sense of absolute despair.
Ultra-mega high energy gamma ray lasers that black holes shoot out. They travel light speed so they can't be detected, and will cook all life on the surface and a little ways below it (on the side facing it), and completely destroy the atmosphere. For reference, there was one in 2008 that was so bright (bright == power in this instance) that it was visible to the naked eye from nearly the farthest point in the universe. For reference, you can't see stars in another galaxy without telescopes, every star you see is in the milky way, or is actually a galaxy itself.
They don't happen 'randomly' but there's no way to predict them. basically a black hole's pole happens to be pointing at us, and sometimes it ejects an entire star out of it's poles at light speed, and because they're very focused they don't decay significantly over distance like supernovas do. They still do, they just maintain their energy for much longer distances, like thousands of light years
I can't remember any jump scares, some very dreadful scenes though. But the scary stuff is the weakest part, the best parts are the relationships between the captains and officers, and the descent into madness.
This is real good
The Terror is the name of the ship, its another historical show.
He'd have put Reactorchan in the gulag
>OMG IM GONNA TURN INTO MY FAVORITE CAPESHIT HERO
Stalin would've caught the capitalist pigs who sabotaged the facility
kek
It's so silly to worry about, maybe the chance is very high if you go over billions of years, but one human life is so damn short that chances are you will never experience something truly freaky.
This is a photo of some japanese guy who died from an incident in 1999, they were basically interns but were pouring URANIUM into the core by hand.
>The accident occurred as three workers, Hisashi Ouchi, Masato Shinohara, and Yutaka Yokokawa,[9] were preparing a small batch of fuel for the Jōyō experimental fast breeder reactor, using uranium enriched to 18.8% with the fissile radionuclide (radioisotope) U‑235 (with the remainder being the fissionable-only U‑238). It was JCO's first batch of fuel for that reactor in three years, and no proper qualification and training requirements appear to have been established to prepare those workers for the job. At around 10:35, a precipitation tank reached critical mass when its fill level, containing about 16 kilograms (35 pounds) of uranium, reached about 40 liters (11 U.S. gallons).[8]
people deliberately sacrifice themselves to save everyone. some of the bravest people that ever lived. but that kind of jeapordy is terrifying
>Under correct operating procedure, uranyl nitrate would be stored inside a buffer tank and gradually pumped into the precipitation tank in 2.4 kg increments. The buffer tank's tall, narrow geometry was designed to hold the solution safely and to prevent criticality.
>The workers bypassed the buffer tanks entirely, opting to pour the uranyl nitrate directly into the precipitation tank with a stainless steel bucket. The additional solution contained 16 kg of uranium, thus exceeding the tank's uranium limit of 2.4 kg. An uncontrolled nuclear fission began immediately.
>An uncontrolled nuclear fission began immediately.
>The workers bypassed the buffer tanks entirely, opting to pour the uranyl nitrate directly into the precipitation tank with a stainless steel bucket.
>directly into the precipitation tank with a stainless steel bucket.
>Бpaт
exactly what i was looking for thanks user
I know this is completely off topic, but I find it interesting as hell. Black holes are scary.
euthanasia was illegal in USSR. If the doctors would do that they would have to go to prison. Not all the people who got to Moscow hospital #6 died. Yuvchenko lived, for example. The doctors were trying to save their lives doing bone marrow transplants and other shit. A couple of patients were later transferred to medical institutions in Europe. 237 people were admitted to Moscow hospital #6 from Chernobyl, less than 30 died.
lol I thought japs were supposed to be smart.
ah, well that explains it. thought they just threw them into a burn ward and ignored them.
