So, Blu-ray is a meme. It's an antiquated format (physical media, lol) but sadly it's the best consumers can get their hands on. So, despite being a forced meme, it's the best we've got.

And everyone who talks shit about physical media is a retard because deep down everyone knows it's silly, but only the retards don't see why everyone's doing it.

You see, people buy the blu-ray and rip it, and store it on their hard drives. It's "digital" (read: not on a fucking disc no more) from then on, great quality, and doesn't disappear on you when 's license expires and you can't stream it anymore.

Upscales are indeed pointless if they don’t replace a badly compressed previous release, in which case they should just make a good standard BD release. But Alita is 4k without upscaling.

@AlitaMovie Tweeted out the release now. The only retailer they have a link to on their site at the moment is Amazon, and the only digital service is Amazon Prime. So I expect a jump in Amazon sales. The other retailers are probably a bit pissed about that. Unless I'm seeing region specific links. (I'm not in the US, so I guess Best Buy or Target aren't relevant for me.)
