Gohan's entire life revolves around being a fucking failure. I'm not going by anyone else's memes, i'm going by what I saw as a child. His entire story revolves around "oh woe is me, im a child help me" bullcrap. He's literally a male Sailor Moon, just cries and gains power boosts by his emotions. It takes him 10 minutes of crying to actually do something and when he actually does something he chokes. He failed at killing Nappa, Frieza, and Buu. He almost failed at killing Cell until his Dad spiritually held his hand.

You can argue Krillin is the same way, but Krillin doesn't have special snowflake saiyan blood in his veins so he has an excuse.

One of the things that stuck to me about Gurren Langan is how people(outside of Simon, Yoko, and Kitan) realistically stopped giving a shit about Kamina after he died.

Like the was still a war going on and then the whole Anti Spiral deal later, life just kept going on and characters stopped looking at him less as a loose-cannon hero that saved their asses constantly and more as some guy who died in the middle of a war.

Especially the ones where Suzaku finally joins up with Lelouche so that they fight his parents as they are about to do something evil to the entire world.
