Happy Terry at the premiere.

god remember when images of him were rare? What happened? Why does he give talks now?

we're gonna make it bros

Fucking hell what happened?

happy terry best terry. is he the greatest living director? either him, herzog, or polanski

He didn't give a talk, he is in Cannes but he wasn't at the press conference also he wasn't on the red carpet, he is not on the video which cannes makes after the premiere. But he was there, in the audience so some people took pics of him. He was also there when The Tree of Life premiered.

Definitely the film I am most hyped for this year. A little disappointed that there are apparently just a few scenes in German in there. Given Terry's background, I thought the whole film was in German

Wong Kar-Wai would also be in consideration for me

Yes i'm disappointed by that too, maybe he thought he can't capture the specific austrian accents.

He's the only director who can do muh atmosphere right

Happy Terry shaking hands with Almodovar, i think.

>Also Cannes thread

Apparently this one is very good.

Yes, the best rated film of all selections so far. Apparently it's very funny and it's more of psychological thriller than horror. Really hyped about this one.

This is what I'm talking about

Blessed image. I feel better for having seen it.

>allegedly his best film since The Tree of Life
That's not saying much t b h

Looks like fucking kino, I'm so happy for terry bros.

People actually still funding the films of this hack.
Might as well give that money to someone worth it like Shane Carruth.

I actually like seeing him talk, he is such a nice guy. Very humble too.

i watched royal tenenbaums other night because /tv memed me into wes andreson artsy movies meme. why should i trust /tv this time

I don't really have a problem with it other than I'm disappointed that one of the rare reclusive artist types seems to be dropping the reclusive part.

>Nicolas Winding Refn dispels rumors that he lost his virginity at 24 and enjoys prostitutes
He definitely read the Yea Forums pasta, didn’t he?
This page keeps posting links to the video, but the Cannes site page keeps getting deleted and reuploaded:

About 20-25 minutes in IIRC.

It's more like The Thin Red Line, The New World and The Tree of Life. So that seems great. I like his later work, but i prefer when he has a script and then works it out in editing room like he did with TTRL, TNW and TTOL.

Imagine being this filtered.

I see what you mean. I think he also gave a talk when Voyage of Time premiered, but people weren't allowed to take phones inside the cinema.
That depends if you only like mainstream superhero stuff, don't watch Malick.

1. "Pain & Glory (Dolor y gloria)" (Pedro Almodovar) [8.39/188 1.3]
2. "Portrait of a Lady on Fire (Portrait de la jeune fille en feu)" (Céline Sciamma) [7.59/122 1.7]
3. "A Hidden Life (Une vie cachée)" (Terrence Malick) [6.88/128 2.0]
4. "Bacurau (Nighthawk)" (Kleber Mendonça Filho, Juliano Dornelles, BR) [6.87/224 1.5]
5. "Sorry we missed you" (Ken Loach) [6.84/191 1.7]

Top 5 from the big poll (main competition).

:)

>"The Lighthouse" (Robert Eggers) [8.54/95 1.3]
Based Eggers.

im not into that onions-boy shit, i like tarantino and scorsese

>i like tarantino
You won't like Malick then.

thanks user

>i like tarantino
back to plebbit kiddo

>i like Tarantino
Are you 15?
>scorsese
I bet you have only seen his gangster films.

>Are you 15?
no
>I bet you have only seen his gangster films.
there are maybe 5 i didn't see

Are you 16 then?

more

17? Also if you liked some of religiously themed films by Scorsese you might like some of Malick's work.

yeah, im exacly 17 cm deep in your whore of mother you little shit

I doubt that.

>likes Tarantino movies
>is a massive brainlet
Really makes me think.

everything that FSL does now it's not FSL, it's the mouse

It's strange that such a garbage company like Disney would allow them to spend more than 10 million dollars on 3 hour Malick film.

>i like tarantino and scorsese

more like ordered them

Eggers next movie, I've been anticipating it since it was announced.

new tarantula tomorrow brehs

I bet it's going to be self indulgent juvenile garbage. All the characters will speak like Tarantino. Tarantino himself will probably make a terrible cameo which will put the whole film to a halt. Also the whole press conference will be Tarantino talking about how cool the film is. The soundtrack will be composed from Tarantino's record collection plus some score from Morricone.

I'm going to cry when Michael Nyqvist appears on screen :'(

relax retard

is only in it for max 2 seconds, one line

No. Fuck you and fuck Tarantino.

Based, but what happened to Radegund bros? And when is this gonna be released?

It's the same film, it was just retitled to A Hidden Life for some reason, Radegund was a better title.

at least his movies are an event. how many non-disney filmmakers can achieve that? maybe scorsese too.

>popular means good
Nolan's films are also events that doesn't mean that they are good.

Bump

>is he the greatest living director?
wtf he hasn't made a decent movie since the 90s yet cinephiles continuously jack him off like he's the greatest director in the world while conveniently ignoring his dozens of dogshit movies inbetween

Malick, Lynch and Snyder are the top 3.

The Tree of Life is one of the best if not the best film of the decade.

>Almodovar
Puagh

>>allegedly his best film since The Tree of Life
lmao, setting the low bar

you probably love boyhood

No. Name 10 movies from this decade that are better than TTOL.

LOOKS LIKE KINO'S BACK ON THE MENU BOYS

He's old. That's why. He wants to enjoy his fame a little before the end.

Why is the movie not in German? I thought that Malick spoke German

What about Lake of Wild Goose?

>only 4 jump cuts in one minute

Yeah I'm thinking he's back

>"The Wild Goose Lake (Nan Fang Che Zhan De Ju Hui)" (Diao Yinan, China [6.27/129 1.4]

There is nothing wrong with Boyhood user.

no one on earth could do that

I hope Parasite is good. And Refn's autistic show as well since it has Kojima for whatever reason.

Parasite looks good. Refn's show already premiered, there are some reviews out there. Refn showed episode 3 and 4, i think. He said at a press conference that Fritz Lang is his father in law and if Lang was alive he would be working in streaming.

>nazis bad
Wow original

Is he going to make a sequel set in Germany 70 years later to tell the romanctic story of love between their granddaughter and a horde of Somalian rapists?

Attached: 1558009548928-pol.jpg (476x357, 27K)

Bruno Ganz plays a good Nazi.

Sion Sono is the best director alive.
Haneke is probably second.
Plebs gtfo of my board.

This guy is the most overrated director perhaps ever
Literally his films are just long Resene commercials. You would get the same level of engagement or content from watching a YouTube compilation of nature footage

This

>tarantino and scorcese
I was 13 once too

he didnt want to go full jd saligner
you never go full jd
otherwise sean connery stars as you in racebait oscar flicks and shitty meme websites are based off you

i love trl and tnw so much im waiting to watch ttol right before i die just so i can go out with no regrets

no, I've seen his earlier indie house stuff like raging bull and the ambulance one

its like they walked by a holiday donation bucket ouside bloomingdales and threw their spare change on the floor and the fastest homeless man scooped it all up

yes yea fine
but how much feets, my good man?
and WHOSE?!?!?

Honestly you could pick just about any movies and they are probably better than TTOL

Sion Sono is alright but he makes too many mediocre films to be considered the best. He is not even the best asian director working right now.
Name 10.

>literally a _____ commercial

this post could have been written by an algorithm

>very funny
Nigga what?

Willem Dafoe farts a lot in the film and the period language insults are funny.

Lmao faggot ToL is the best film of the past 10 years.

No, Boyhood is trash while ToL is transcendent.

Haneke is a sterile pornographer pretending to make film art.

OK here's ten movies which you can respond to saying they are worse than TTOL but which I enjoyed much more than it
1. Far from Men
2. Under the Shadow
3. Hereditary
4. Demon (the Polish film)
5. Suspiria (remake)
6. Twin Peaks S3 (Lynch said it was meant to be viewed as an eighteennhour movie, so)
7. It Follows
8. Ghost Story
9. Hard to be a God
10. Amore

*Resene
I said Resene

>he thinks a movie is good or bad based on if you enjoyed it or not
ahhh, the plebs...
