People go on game shows like Jeopardy to primarily test trivia knowledge and make money doing it, but this typically expresses itself to trying to get the most correct answers possible instead of sniping key dollar amounts and Daily Doubles to lock the other players out of the game. Being a tryhard is more than just playing to win, it's about having such a meticulous approach to the game that you actively make it as non-competitive for the other players as you can because the game allows you to do it, and while that's fine for people playing the same game as you, for everyone else it just makes you look like a dick.
