There’s a lot of Inuit tales passed down the generations of starving white men walking south. Some even climbed on board the ship years later and the fire was still burning, with two crew on board that had probably just died.
Another interesting fact is that they found artifacts like boxes made with dovetail joints like 300miles south, and Inuit talking about the captain and another crewmember surviving down there for years
