Yeah, Yi Ti is sadly one of the worst examples of this, but I still like his worldbuilding. Some people generally hate the "not-quite-ethnicity-x analoge" style of making up cultures, but I enjoy the world in the book series immensely. Asshai: From the descriptions it sounds like mordor, but it seems that's just because the distance and isolation, people go about their business there much like elsewhere
