Shit, Avatar The Last Airbender Ended 11 yearts ago
Breaking Bad
Only contrarian retards will disagree with Breaking Bad
this, Easy
Twin peaks the return had the most kino ending of all time
Batman: The Brave and the Bold.
Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood.
The last season was very disapointing though, i have high hopes for betta call saul tho. Its boring but oh so entertaining.
Twin Peaks
Nathan for You
came to say just this.
It's crazy how Lynch and the whole gang came back from retirement to deliver kino in its purest form.
The fact that so much of the cast has passed away since the return also gives it this "meant to have happened" vibe too. Like the stars aligned to allow TP to shine one more time.
there's good taste in this thread
you mean FMA 2003
What about shows that ended properly AFTER they became garbage?
hey hello how are you
Stargate Sg-1
>before it became shit
Learn to read.
It was shit from the start.
Mad men. If you say no you i dont respect your opinion tbQh
>Light crying, begging for mercy
Nha, it was shit too
Didn't end properly. Got cancelled. Then they made a few movies in a desperate attempt to give it a proper send off.
Love SG-1 but the last two seasons didn't need to exist. Although the 200th episode joke episode was fucking great.
The ending wasn't shit but the entire last season leading up to it was a mess
What's going on in the pic? Never liked Samurai Jack much
I don't even remember how it ended
yeah you keep running your mouth brainlet, s3 was excellent.
The Knick
Richard Armitage was the worst actor in the whole series. He snarled like a hammy faggot reading to toddlers.
>the authors literally bitched about having to lengthen death note in their next work
they must be really salty with that
FMA 2003 ending was fucking ass and the sequel movie was even worse
That was the best part though, he was always an insecure egotistical moron
>What's going on in the pic?
A Gurren Lagann ending ripoff
A superior fantasy kino ended today on a much better note.
Breaking Bad, Gravity Falls, I think Fargo is over, various anime.
A bunch of anime
I don't watch western shit other then GoT but that was shit too
Samurai Jack Season 5 up to and including episode 3 are pure unmitigated cartoon K I N O.
There is no doubt a drop in quality once Ashi becomes deuteragonist, but overall I was satisfied with the conclusion to the series.
they say ep 3 is a surprise (which isn't really) but that bombshell at ep 10 followed by the opening music was something no one would even think of
Mystery Science Theater 3000

You liked the magic genocide ending?
Well isn't that... special.
[the Whedon family's sequels in the graphic novels are impressively faggoty.]
Still pisses me off that the last season of sanurai jack was just a fucking retelling of Gurren Laggan
Veep. It just ended last week. Season 4 sucked but it got back up to where it was and ended perfectly
Yep, agreed. Thanks Lynch and Frost and the cast and crew. Very satisfying. That ending will haunt me, it was what Twin Peaks needed.
>his smile and optimism gone
People didn't like the end of Samurai Jack?
Is this supposed to be an example?
Samurai Jack had one of the worst endings in recent years
I was so fucking mad after Samurai Jack episode 3 last year. The first three chapters were just perfect, and then everything went to shit.
>shoehorned diversity nigger doctor

Based
Episode 4 was almost enjoyable, after 5 I started watching it just for the sake of finishing what I'd started.
what happened? was thinking about finishing the series.
Agents of Shield
Unironically great show ending, the series just got better each season and they decided to call it with a well planned ending.
Most anime I've watched properly ended before it became shit desu
Gravity Falls.
Not going to pretend it was perfect, but Hirsch ran in, did two seasons, yelled "DONE!" and ran out, haunted by the ghosts of Zombie Simpsons and unfinished Twin Peaks.
I could've gone with a third season but I'll take what I can get.
The first 3 episodes are incredible then it goes into decline and the ending is contentious and derivative of the ending of Gurren Lagan.
I still think it was a pretty solid and it does give the series closure. Worth a watch I'd say.
Jack falls in love with Aku’s assassin and it focuses entirely on that for a few episodes.
Kills Aku in the past and marries the assassin (who is from the future). Then in the stupidest sequence in the entire show, she fades from existence when he realizes that she shouldn’t exist.
Jack got Gurren Lagganed.
All the characters we liked in the future got erased into oblivion (the timeline is just too different to assume they were recreated with happy lives).
Ashi dying creates a paradox (if she's "never existing" into oblivion, then she "never existed" to help him defeat Aku in the past, so Aku should be alive to create his future, meaning Ashi existed to go back in time and make herself not exist, and oh fuck I have a headache).
Dammit.
Futurama
Basically, in season 5, which aired like 14 years or so after the last one, Jack randomly falls in love with a girl who had tried to kill him for half of the season, and then because he ultimately wins against Aku by traveling back in time, she dies because by defeating Aku, Jack got rid of the only reason she existed, so she simply didn't anymore.
I would too, but Hirsch was up-front in saying that he saw his show as a hybrid of Simpsons and Twin Peaks, and man, those are two shows that teach you to tell your story fast and finish on a high note with a clear ending.
Because Japan understand that only few selected stories can be overbloated for cash, even DB has a lot of trouble doing that.
...sure user. Sure.
True. 100% kino from beginning to end.
One of my favorite childhood cartoons, perhaps because it portrayed childhood so well. The movie to end it all is absolutely fantastic too as all the characters get closure except for Johnny, which is probably the only thing not perfect about it.
Alright, what's the issue nigger?
>before it became shit
The movies and revival cemented the shit status.
Damn that sucks, still going to check it out. Feel like I owe it to myself to finish the series.
>2015
>Properly ended
>Had like five different "this is probably going to be our ending" endings
>Definite dips in quality in later seasons
C'mon. The first ending would've been the best one.
Leftovers
After four 9-10/10 seasons, one 6/10 season is still pretty great. I still rate the series overall an 8.5/10
lmao what plenty of anime that goes on longer than it should
based
Gravity Falls :^)
Black Sails
whats there to even like about the ending?
I still have no idea what the writer was thinking. The whole "friends we made along the way" is a meme trope but its so important to this series. Jack's not ACTUALLY supposed to go to the past, he's supposed to come to terms with his situation. It shows how much the character has matured. Like the ending to Idiocracy, if you would.
But he does actually go to the past with his waifu like a absolute brainlet, every friend he made along the way ceases to exist for all intents and purposes, then in an absolutely bizzare sequence of events his waifu ceases to exist the moment he marries her.
And then it just ends
What the FUCK?
the movies were good though
It's worth it and it's still a satisfying conclusion, even if the latter half of S5 isn't as great as the rest of the previous episodes.
Oh user...
It had a much stronger start, but the ending was top bullshit, and the thread's generally about things ending well.
Honestly, whenever I see shows deal with any kind of complexity/magic rules I resign myself to the fact that a satisfyingly smart ending will be impossible. Even Avatar pull a left-field deus ex with the fucking magic turtle.
Then I remember the ending to brotherhood.
Not him but it ended like 10 times with the same fucking FRY AND LEELA ARE A COUPLE NOW to the point where you just stop caring the movies were especially guilty of this.
The final season had some really shitty forced emotional episodes trying to ride off the success of Luck of the Fryish and the dog episodes and were really bland.
Luck of the Fryish worked because it was an amazing bait and switch where it played off the viewers misconception about sibling rivalry and sitcom asshole older brothers. It also was earned after multiple episodes of Fry not giving a shit about everyone he knew and loved being dead only for him to finally realize everyone he knew is really gone forever (which the movie shit on).
Compare that to
>Oh it turns out your mom really did miss you despite us already mentioning that, now feel sad and listen to sappy music
Justified
>this entire awesome future world we've built full of fun, unique characters is completely erased so we can have a shitty forced bitter sweet ending

I think one of the reasons why Death Note turned to shit was because they wanted to show that Kira is a fucking faggot and had to kill off L to show that. Not only did people get Light became vain and corrupted the more time he spent with the notebook but it was also very obvious that L was much smarter so Kira can't be a god. Light got handed several (supernatural) asspulls.
They kinda split L into two characters and wanted to go for a three-way battle but failed. Second part was mostly exposure of a corrupted (religious) system.
The final confrontation was probably the only good part after L's death. Damn waifufags ruining everything
Since when did Yea Forums grow a hate boner for Season 5? Genndy is the man.

this.
I don't get how people thought he wasn't going to go to the past. It's right in the fucking intro every time.
Three short and sweet seasons.
I was an emo boy and I still miss this show now.
Apparently people like the "no one's ever really gone" mentality BS. A series can't go on forever. Get up, let the characters' stories end, go to a new story. Yea Forums has become too accustomed to franchises being milked forever and get mad when characters end... I guess.
I thought it was p. dope
Nathan for you had unironically the best finale it could've had.
That's actually what asian women's profiles look like you racist incel
youre fucking retarded, its not that way at all
>No epic finale between jack and aku
>jack just jumps back in time and immediately demolishes him
>girl is born of aku
>despite this, she doesn't die until weeks-months afterwards when her and jack get ready to be married
The last bit of the nu-jack is hilariously bad
>dude just sell your gate
it felt like a cop out with how easy it was
no its cause people wanted the "he has to accept his new life and leave his other life behind"
which is ironically what the actual ending is just in the reverse of what was wanted
Cringe
Based
Wasn't Jack looking for a way to get back to the past because Aku became too powerful to defeat since the first season? I'm not sure if it was mentioned in early seasons but even with all his friends helping him, they couldn't even scratch Aku in the final battle.
The aftermath of defeating Aku in the past makes perfect sense.
It would have make more sense if there was no way to go back to the past but time portals are a thing in that world.
Sure, killing Aku in the past would undo his evil shit but you have to deal with the evil that happened.
Gurren Laggan was completely different and you know it.
>muh paradox
Welcome to time travel bullshit
Ashi dying doesn't create a paradox, killing Aku in the past does.
Then again how does timetravel really work?
>knowledge of super alchemy is established as costing brother's soul
>thinking that it shouldn't cost the same vice versa
The whole theme is equivalent exchange you simp.
>jumps back literally 5 seconds after being thrown into the future
>defeats aku instantly who was already about to be killed and got lucky
thats literally what shouldve happened
Nice to see some sensible people are still around here. Imagine thinking it would have been better for our hero, Jack, to accept the shitty future Aku created instead of going back home and forging a future based on righteousness. Nihilism is one hell of a drug.
based and /u/pilled
I'm still iffy on this because it raised more questions than answers. First half was good though.
it wasn't equivalent exchange though, the gate was worthless to him at this point
Spartacus
>this entire awesome future
You mean the future that is enslaved by Aku, an evil demon?
Faggots like you dislike the ending for completely wrong reasons
Wrong
>everyone posts shows that ended more than a decade ago

Not a popular opinion, but I loved the entirety of Season 5.
Samurai Jack.
Samurai Champloo

Holy shit you are dumb nigga.
Shinsekai Yori
correct answer
That would actually work.
Why would Jack go back in time to try and solo Aku at his fucking prime? It makes zero sense.
thats the actual ending m8
he comes back and finishes off aku when hes wounded
I completely agree with both of you.
Nah. I love Farscape but it didn't end well, it needed one more full season to keep the pacing and tie up loose ends, Peacekeeper Wars wasn't very good.
>he says while posting an image from Nichijou
>which is absolute perfection why can't we just get a S2 bros ;_; KyoAni a shit
>anime
>ending
>forced happy ending
>literally the real canon ending the author intended
based squealer did nothing wrong.
gurren lagaan shouldve ended when spiral king died
Educate yourself dumdum
2003 fans are simps who can't appreciate an end that actually fits with the theme of the show established from the very opening.
It all would've been fucking perfect if they had cut to the future showing all of Jack's friends living happy lives free from Aku, whether they've met him or not. That's all it needed. Nobody gave a shit about Robin Hood who trained him for like two seconds onscreen. I just wish we got any sort of closure for the countless friends and allies in the future.
I'm still happy with it overall, though.
I actually thought it was crap and anticlimactic when I watched it, but in comparison to almost everything else I've seen recently I think it might actually be one of the best.
When did Mad Men end?
I can go either way with that. On one hand, that would be very satisfying. On the other hand, it might be too 'easy' for Jack. As in, it minimizes that fact that he has to leave behind that life to save the world.
the ending is a little too upbeat honestly, pretty much everything works out for everyone
lol
>what if we had a really forced happy ending and destroyed the whole theme of "equivalent exchange"
Madoka isn't particularly original. It takes a lot from Kamen Rider
Literally the only thing Nisio wrote that ended on time. It was genuinely surprising.
Torchwood...if you don't count Miracle Day.
it was worthless to him because he saw the effects of actually trying to do that and chose the obvious.
you are being deliberately obtuse
>giving up magic powers
Did you forget this part
Oh damn yeah, Leftovers was kino from start to finish
I was hoping that L would end up in control of the book and there'd be a role reversal where Light would have to eat shit and suck up to L as he got more and more corrupted by the power too or something. I just wanted them to do more with L
This is unbelievably terrible. Not because "send a letter to a female - SEE! She's a lesbian!" But the general story, lacking charisma from the lead... Varik was the one thing liked.
If theres one thing that will truly be interesting, it's ONEPIECE.
Despite all the vast world building, connections, herrings,references.- Expectations are too high to deliver an ending to appease.
literally best show i have ever seen deus
Fringe
Seinfeld
Twin Peaks
I'm not sure if I'm sensible, I don't get the nihilism part. Then again I don't really know about nihilism, I only heard a few bits about it.
I mean Jack still holds onto his goal even after he lost his sword. Even if there is no real meaning (gods exist in that world and were the ones that created his sword or not?), he stays loyal to his virtues and establishes them by following his own sense of justice, fighting off his negative emotions (Mad Jack) and defeating Aku.
Aku already wrecked for some years until Jack finished his training so the only difference would be how much suffering and awareness about Aku gets undone, he even starts to mess with aliens at some point.
Zoomers that's what they are
Jojo part 6.
Series should of ended right there.
What...? It's currently in its 6th season, already renewed for 7.
That is not true in the slightest, last couple of seasons were unwatchable
This and Leftovers.
Can't disagree with this! Finished it a few months ago. It was bittersweet, felt true to the characters, was not fanservicey.
Steel Ball Run and Jojolion are the best parts
Fargo better not be over
Samurai jack last season only had 3 episodes and you cant change my mind
Seinfeld also has one of the worst endings to any show ever...
How did they get Ramsey Bolton to do an X-Men porn parody?
And I hope they never animate them so animefags can stick to their everyone is dead except the small white kid whos in a alternate universe ending
Said absolutely no one ever.
Said almost literally everyone ever.
complete ripoff of Gurren Lagann
Season 1 was great, season 2 was good, season 3 had completely ditched the original formula and went off the rails in the worst way possible. A constantly declining show, and a completely wrong post.
Decent finale that should've been longer but the season before it was pretty bad. Brian H. Kim is really fucking good at show soundtracks.
twin peaks
berserk, mostly cause it ended before it started lol
Justified.
I mean season 5 was shit but season 6 was largely a total redemption.
no u
Not that much.
It's also more about growth and accepting that some things in life can't be changed no matter how powerful we get. And probably some other shit I forgot.
Even with the setbacks/sacrifices some made, they somewhat achieved a happy life and/or their life goals.
It's a different ending based more like on entry-level philosophy I guess
I wouldn't mind them never being animated. It's clear that the adaptations are lower and lower budget every single part. DP's attempt at trying to make it look like SBR would be absurd.
not everything works out. That chinese girl grew up but kept that stupid fucking hair, for instance.
Fargo already announced their next season
He was blinded by it, it's not worthless but it also won't change that he's human. Alchemy still means a lot to him but even with the gate, his knowledge was basically nothing in the grand scheme of the universe.
You can argue that it's worthless but he's trading his worthless gate for just a human body
Seinfeld, The Wire
>ed gets to live normal life with all his limbs and bangs winry on the daily
>al gets his body back and goes on sick adventures and loli girlfriend
>izumi has her stomach cancer cured by jesus so she doesnt die
>roy obtains highest position and fixes his blindness with philospher stone and bangs riza on the daily
>scar the wanted state alchemist/dog murderer now works with the military because he learned the power of friendship
fuck you
It should have ended in pain arc.
Or at least with Madara with him as the final boss, but not, Kishimito went full retard with kaguya.
>WE WUZ ALIENS AND SHIT
based
LOL no, fucking dyke
it was forced as shit, just like Princess Bubblegum and Marceline
Roy doesn't become Fuhrer. Izumi still can't have children and Scar doesn't work with the military
Evangelion
>past decade
negro it's been over twenty.
Besides, Rebuilds exist and they're going to fuck up EoE anyways.
Ending on Pain would've been underwhelming
Ending on Madara would've been good if built up a little better.
I thought having Kaguya was okay, alien comes from the classic folktale of moon princess in bamboo, and Naruto is completely built around Japanese mythology and folktales.
The bigger issue was having Kaguya be more than the origin, and being the true end game, one causing most the discord with Zetsu, instead of it truly being Madara's own evil nature.
Ultimately it ended with Naruto vs Sasuke like most expected or wanted and the mere implication Kaguya was from another world shouldn't be what makes you mad about the ending
Everyone here will disagree but with how rushed and dropped in quality it was the finale was still leagues better than GoT and 80% of TV shows
I never understood why people wanted that shit in the first place but complain about Ross/Rachel lovestories. Though I don't get the lesbian undertone from that song that started this shit in the first place, they tried it out once and it didn't work out
PB and Marceline still had a few garbage seasons to somewhat get something going. This shit came out of nowhere and it felt more like they were trying to stir up shit in order to not get cancelled
No fuck me give more it was so good
this and nothing comes close
this show's name is me literally. not even as background noise was this show good.
it's not only that, Kishimoto made a so good dam villain and it throw it to the trash, if it would end with Naruto and Sasuke killing madara (and then geting their arms cut) it would be kino.
Despite CBS trying to cripple the show with the shortened final season and the procedural mandate POI had a satisfying ending.
this. I'm shocked how they did it
>Rebuilds exist and they're going to fuck up EoE anyways.
>implying they're ever getting finished
Same. It was a miracle.
>Jake Long: American Dragon
Any other DisneyXD kinos like this?
The author explicitly states that Roy would eventually become Fuhrer. Compare this to 2003 where he sacrifices everything he worked towards and lives in bumfuck nowhere because he thought he did the right thing by avenging his friend.
Izumi can't have kids, fair enough, but she doesn't fucking die from stomach cancer that kills years later.
Scar is seen with Miles at the end as an ambassador like Miles always wanted him to be.
>you gave me a job, a purpose
Not Disney, but animated kino includes:
Avatar: The Last Airbender
Danny Phantom
Jackie Chan Adventures
Firefly is more than a decade old. It also didn't properly end, it was canceled.
It could have been good, but Hirsch wanted it to end, so I respect that it was over when it was. Better to end on a high note and leave us wanting more than watch it limping around for a few more years begging for a mercy kill.
I think the problem is that Mad Men is an unfortunately easy show to gloss over. It was good throughout, and never really dipped in quality at any point, and had a proper ending that tied up the loose ends in an adequate way. The problem is, while it was good throughout its run, it never had the shocking highs that a show like, say, Breaking Bad or Game of Thrones had. To put it another way, you could never upload a video of a bunch of dipshits in a bar reacting to an episode of Mad Men.
Apart from two kino scenes (inside Stan's mind and the final goodbyes) Gravity Falls' ending was extremely mediocre.
I will give you Over the Garden Wall, but it still doesn't feel quite right since the whole thing aired all at once and was barely 90 minutes long, making it feel more like a movie than a tv show with a finale.
Why is the television drama genre so fucking dead nowadays?
There were so many great series in the 00's and early 10's
Nowadays very little is going on, and when something new does come out it goes to shit almost immediately after the first season. Whats to blame for this shit?
Season 3 wasn't so bad. I guess.
The terror

This show died when Spartacus's actor died.

Pathetic indeed.
Madara was supposed to be the last boss, not Kaguya or Sasuke.
