Those 90s movies werw cringe

Late Millennial/Gen Y culture

Can confirm as someone born in 1995. I specifically remember 2005-2006 as being when entertainment began to no longer have any soul.

present is alot worse because of MCU.

Present is far worse.

>Space Jam
>bad
you need to go back

Today is worse because theres lots more shit that people eat up and rant about. MCU and Star Wars along with general Disney movies, DCEU, Transformers the list goes on and on.

>I specifically remember 2005-2006 as being when entertainment began to no longer have any soul.
What things around that time particularly made you feel that?

from that pic:
>Chowder
>Misadventures of Flapjack
>iCarly
>Gen 4 Pokemon
>Ratatouille (big decline from The Incredibles, basically began the era of shitty 3D animated flicks)
>all those cheap Batman and Spider-Man cartoons

>2005
I feel like I agree with you...but I can't really explain why. I will have to go back and look at what was coming out at that time. I think it was when China basically took over the blockbuster business

Yep. 2006 was the year I decided to move to LA to become a filmmaker. Confirmed to have no soul.

I mean, it never had a soul, but a movie like The Matrix could never get made now. No one has anything to add to the conversation of filmmaking except the occasional A24 deconstruction film.

Present by far. Because while the ones you mentioned are the pure cringy ones the ones that are supposedly working as counterweight are the MCU movies. So even the "good movies" of this second darkness are shit. The 90´s where more balanced and i can prove it mathematically.

The frighteners, Mission impossible and Dragon Heart are all from ´96, L.A Confidential, The Game, Gattaca, Anastasia, Hercules (in case you wonder what Disney was doing. It was in the middle of it´s second renaisance) are from ´97. Dark City, Truman Show, The man in the iron mask, Meet joe Black all from ´98. Matrix and Iron Giant are from ´99 and so on. My point being that even though in the late 90´s there where some really bad movies there where som really good ones too while right now there is only darkness. Sure, good directors like Scorsese, Polanski and Woody Allen are still out there filming, fighting the good fight and making good movies but their budgets are smaller. We are in an age where big budgets are reserved almost exclusively for live action remakes, sequels that milk existing IPs and super hero flicks.

>Chowder
>Flapjack
>Spectactular Spider-Man
>Soulless
Confirmed as wannabe boomer

At least 2016 has Snyder and Bay

What the fuck is wrong with these?
> Twister
> Dante's Peak
> Volcano
ESPECIALLY Peak which is fantastic.

And Spawn was decent aside from some horrible CGI for hell.

There is nothing wrong with the original Independence Day except the computer virus solution.

>wild wild west
>bad

>movies of ’99
>Election
>Matrix
>The Mummy
>eyes wide shut
>Galaxy Quest

> X Men Apocalypse
> Transformers 5
> Pirates 5
These are really not that bad.

>volcano
>bad

Mother fucker what?

It's not unfathomable to think some of our technology and even computer programming was reverse-engineered from a UFO crash they had fifty years to study.

Also I want an Independence Day 3 because they were about to go full Star Wars with it, which mite cool now that Star Wars itself isn't worth watching.

Yo fellow ‘95 nigga I feel you. Batman the animated series was the shit and batman beyond just knocked it out the park. Growing up with lord of the rings Jackson films was such. Privilege. ‘95 was the best time to be born.

Batman animated series came out in 91 before you were born, poser zoomer.

bump

>Independence Day Resurgence
that was kino though
