When they win it's because they're ganging up on one at a time. But Levi himself goes out there and just casually solos a dozen titans in a matter of minutes.

I feel like Geass never really took itself seriously so the drop in quality wasn't as jarring. When the "good season" has Suzaku taking out turrets with karate the bar hasn't been set very high.

You know what I want to see, a Titan sorcerer who can use the massive energy that causes the transformation for other purposes, like energy attacks or reviving the dead.

Code Geass S2 suffered from typical obsession that sequels have to be grander and more epic, which in turn lead to less planning screen time so you couldn't deduce the logic behind Lelouch's actions and second season relies more on "Lelouch does another asspull to save the day" more and more. That was kinda always what the show was, though.

Coming up with something fresh to keep it afloat is no walk in the park, especially given the tight schedule with very few breaks. You end up spinning the wheel and re-hashing the same content as before because at least there was an audience for it. And that's when the "escalation" problem rears its head. These authors make the mistake of thinking what comes next has to be bigger and badder without exception, often screwing with the internal logic of the show to accommodate this new threat. Ultimately what you are left with is a walking corpse and that's when the decline in readership begins

Beast actually seems like a very formidable titan, even without Zeke's baseball skills and royal blood. For one, he did beat the armored titan, without having a scratch on him (while the armored titan was missing most of his armor after the fight). Eren could barely crack his armor with in that martial arts move he learned from annie. And his long ass arms are perfect for throwing shit. Even if the shifter doesn't know baseball, he can still throw shit over a long distance better than any other titan. So I'm guessing the advantage of the beast titan is that it is built like an ape. Like we can compare regular titan shifters to like very good MMA fighters, while best titan is like a primate. And we know for a fact that most primates would rip a man to pieces, so beast titan is like a titan version of that.
