I couldn't bring myself to watch this show. By sheer coincidence, a few weeks before it aired I had gotten into lots of documentaries about arctic exploration, including the terra nova quest for the north west passage. What pissed me off was realising the show was based on a fictional novelisation of these events, which included some kind of mystical polar bear demon. Seriously? How much of a fucking pleb writer do you have to be to take a real life tale featuring some of the worst horrors man could face - isolation in extremely inhospitable lands, insanity from the lead poisoned food available to you, desperation and starvation to the point of cannibalism, hopelessness of the retaliation your situation is futile and you will never see home or your loved ones again - all of this, and you still think "hmmmm, what this really needs is a retarded polar bear demon antagonist to really make it scary!". Absolute fucking garbage.
