>Peter Bradshaw of The Guardian went so far as to say, “Robert Eggers’s gripping nightmare ‘The Lighthouse’ is the best thing [at Cannes] with sledgehammer performances from Willem Dafoe and Robert Pattinson, like Steptoe and Son in hell.”

It looks kino based on that shot

Genuinely looking forward to it.

Cringe. B&W doesn't automatically make it kino you pseud.

Based as FUCK

you realise that there is an homosexual love scene in the movie between Dafoe & Pattinson , right ?

no longer kino

TRAILER FUCKING WHEN

No way?

Yep.

I am pretty sure he is lying.

This has the best reactions from Cannes so far. Seems like Eggers really delivered.
He is lying.

No, but R Patts' moustache, Defoe's expression, and Defoe's upsidedown pipe make the kino detector beep

What makes you think he was referring to the color?

Yikes! Try having sex buddy.

Keep SEETHING incels, the best horror this year will always be US.

>careing what gimmicks say
Yikes

>careing
Yikes.

Steptoe and Son in hell

Based

There is a release date for Common cinemas?

>The Lighthouse’ rips: it’s terrifying, hilarious, nightmarish, and Robert Pattinson and Willem Dafoe shamble around in flannels and longjohns the whole time, yelling stuff like ‘GET TO WORK, SAYS I!!’ ‘BARK YOU DOG!!’ don’t let anyone spoil this for you.

Ok, now *this* sounds like the very definition of kino and, yep... based.

Eggers is an open alt right and anti fag rights supporter you know that right?

Dont care whether its in black and white or in color but the fact that they are filming in black and white instead of redoing it later like the Mad Max 4 meme version and such is great.

Why do redditors care so much about gimmicks? Oh wait the director is literally reddi t

Why are you children excited about soihorror?

Pattinson is the actor of the this generation. 2020 is his year.

Embarrassing posts.

Still not known I think.

Go back

shove that phone up your ass you discordtranny tourist

Even though the witch was so hilariously bad (the director made it feel both slow AND rushed at the same time) I actually purchased it to put it next to Sharknado and Piranha 3D. I actually admire A24s and the directors ability to hit the right notes to cater to the balding, thick-brim-glassed, mustache twirling, testosterone lacking e-males. Black and white film, some wacky lenses, aspect ratio to fit, the only thing this movie could have done to bring their little circumcised cocks closer to orgasm would be putting 100% certified authentic and vintage salior sweat and ball stank on Pattinson to capture the TRUE disgust of Dafoe in their interactions, or something silly of the likes, ya know?

When's it out?

>Robert Eggers’ ‘The Lighthouse’ is like if Melville or Poe reimagined The Shining as an odd couple comedy where both protagonists are Jack Torrance. A lot to take in, but Pattinson and Dafoe are superb.
Yeah, I'm thinkin kino.

Finally Vulko and Batman team up

Kys capeshitter.

Welp, looks like we are getting film of the decade, lads.

I doubt it's better than get out.

>Melville or Poe
One certainly is not like the other.

Is this inspired by the Flannan Isles mystery?

retain some degree of mystery, for your own sake

Yes. That's where Eggers got the initial idea, though the story is not a telling of the incident. It's more Eggers read the tale, took the idea of two isolated lighthouse keepers having the same name, and told his own story.

That makes no sense. How are Melville and Poe interchangeable?

finally an honest black n white instead of instagram'd digital hackery

We superhero fans will be laughing with the billions of dollars our movies make.

wtf its unbased now

>wanting Dafoe and Pattinson to kill themselves
Yikes

>tfw i live a couple hours away from where they filmed it

Does that moron realize his pipe is upside down

Tobacco is tightly packed inside, the pipe is upside down so the rain, sea water wouldn't extinguish it.

Yeah I like McDonald's sometimes too.

Nigger.

not sure if bait or desilusional

i'm honestly shaken

>Eggers is an open alt right and anti fag rights supporter you know that right?

Got a source on that?

Sorry no. It's a horror film that isn't about stupid teenagers doing stupid things then getting killed off 1 by 1 in a predictable order until the final girl survives then walks into sequel bait while the credits play with a current top 40 song. So it's automatically shit.

Nigger.

>5 college kids walk into a room
>dude lol beer
>lol sex
>3 get killed
>omg selfie!
>last guy dies
>omg mood squad goals!
>girl runs away and finds sequel bait
>credits with Rihanna song

Yes this is how all horror films should be.

>he goes to a common cinema

It's getting very good reviews.

1. "Diego Maradona" (Asif Kapadia) [8.75/4 1.3]
2. "Matthias and Maxime" (Xavier Dolan) [8.62/4 1.3]
3. "The Lighthouse" (Robert Eggers) [8.58/38 1.2]
4. "Parasite (Gisaengchung)" (Bong Joon-ho) [8.50/8 1.1]
5. "Pain & Glory (Dolor y gloria)" (Pedro Almodovar) [8.25/177 1.3]
6. "For Sama" (Waad Al Kateab, Edwards Watts) SXSW Special Screening [8.05/31 1.6]
7. "And Then We Danced" (Levan Akin) [7.80/51 1.5]
8. "Personalien (Liberte)" (Albert Serra) [7.63/19 1.8]

It will go down, but right now it's the best rated Cannes movie. First two movies have only 4 reviews, so they are irrelevant.

>Xavier Dolan
Why do I always get angry reading/hearing his name?

The first two films haven't even screened. So i wouldn't count them. The Lighthouse is the best reviewed film of the fest so far, Pain and Glory is the second.

Because he is a smug faggot.

idk but same

>dis gone B gud

I hate film festivals, bros. I get some heavy anxiety knowing that there are so much kino coming but with no idea of when the plebs will be able to watch them.

when will we get a trailer, guys?

Yes. My head

Finally a director making films about rich white people and white culture.

KINO INCOMING
