I just finished Season 6, 7 and the rest of 8 catching up and HOLY FUCK did the quality drop the last couple seasons. What the fuck happened?!

No source material to copy. Too much fan service. A case of senioritis by the writers.
The whole sex scene between Dany and Jon felt like dogshit fan service
It was an important plot point tho
>season 5
>anything approaching quality TV
Who are your favorite characters OP?
Ned, Jaime, after she blew up the sept: Cersei, Ser Davos, Tyrion and Jon
I hate Dany, Missandei, grey Worm and that Euron cuck and theon
Believe it or not, a lot of the storyline of these past few seasons were based off of Georgie boys notes for winds of winter and Dream of spring. This is actually how he planned on taking the story. What really killed the show is the quality episode writers all going overboard.
It seems all rushed in minor parts of 6 but tge dropoff is really evident in season 7 onwards. I actually got fucking bored watching the show for the first time watching 7 at times. Also the writing is simpler and duller and relies more on facial expressions and muh dragons. Gone are the intellectual nuanced conversations and ploys and mind games going back and forth.
And look at what they did to my boy Tyrion, dude acts like a shell what he once did. He just walks around with cliche jokes and grimaces for the screen. I feel sorry for Dinklage having to deal with that. The cinematography is also somehow strangely worse compared to the first 4 seasons. Too much contrast as well.
The general plot points have been fine, but ya the execution and pacing have been just horrendous
Source material also dropped in quality the last 2 books.
Great taste
normies and fan fiction
all the sex scenes. basically really REALLY ugly women sleeping with male 9s or 10s, that in real life wouldnt even look at them.
They dropped an entire plotline which would have made Dany going insane actually make sense.
yea you can fuck right off with this dabid apologism
the truth is dabid stopped giving a shit and is hungry for the mausbux so they're rushing to finish GoT and they're shitting it up in the process
Op here. Watching 6 7 8 the past week, youd have to be a moron to think she isnt capable of going insane.
d&d could write a good scene if they wanted to, they just fucking gave up.
youtu.be
They rushed it for star wars
Around halfway through Season 5 is when the cracks really start to show. Anyone who says Season 4 is a fool. It's the best season of GOT and my favourite season probably of TV ever.
Nice source you have there. Did you cite your ass?
Somewhere between filming season 7 David and Dan threw a birthday party for Emilia, they wanted to fuck her, but she refused, so now they are retaliating by destroying her.
Especially when Emilia Clarke flinched when Kit Harrington touched her face during boatsex.
>I just finished Season 6, 7 and the rest of 8 catching up and HOLY FUCK did the quality drop the last couple seasons. What the fuck happened?!
Yeah but you know what? Until Dany became a Targaryan, the audience fucking loved it.
YU AH MUH KWEEN
Every great TV show has a rushed final season with an ending that barely makes any sense and is an utter disappointment. Name two exceptions.
D&D rushed the series so the could move to the next star wars trilogy, next time when you are in a movie theater remember that Disney ruined game of thrones
Not in the context of what happened in the show. Absolutely nobody in King's Landing should be putting up with Cersei, they'd be throwing the doors open to Dany after the Sparrows and Tyrells got blown up
In the books she'll likely be fighting Aegon for KL, who the people will genuinely love
Annoying but true. Any time I see normies whining about how bad episode 5 was I wonder where the fuck they were these past few years
It's been shit since 5 dude.
I call bullshit. They can claim that but we will never know for sure. Even if the fat man finishes the books we won't know if HE was the one influenced by the shows (because he is lazy)
>Ambushing fleet
>litteral wall of bodies out of nowhere in botb
> Shooting a dragon out of the sky with 3 perfect shots, just to miss all the other shots
>Arya ending the long night out of nowhere
>Teleporting
>Gendries magical sprint to the wall
I doubt any of this happens in the books
>normie brainlets loved Battle of Bastards
>normie brainlets suddenly triggered by The Long Night
What's the fucking difference? If anything Battles of Bastards was worse
>after she blew up the sept
Why? All she does is smirk after that. She has the one good scene with Tyrion in the s7 finale and that's it.
Probably this. I can't remember when exactly it died, but it's around this time.
>I doubt any of this happens in the books
Think about it. These are notes. So D&D have to just follow the notes. Of course there are gaps in notes, but D&D are helpless. They just know how to transcribe already available content. So the notes are dutifully reproduced, gaps and all.
Episodes 3 and 4 of this season were 100% horrible fan fiction. Episode 5 felt like GRRM for the most part but the context will be quite different in the books. The ending of season 7 with them going beyond the wall to capture one wight, the NK shooting down a dragon and then the meeting in Kings Landing was also horrible fan fiction.
Characters are rewarded for their bad decisions.
If a named character is in a dangerous situation, their plot armor ensures any tension that might have been there is nonexistent.
Named characters now are only allowed to die to other named characters.
The relationships between all characters are simplified.
The show goes out of its way to tell you that only the nobles and your favorite characters matter now. There's no need to pay attention to commonfolk.
Modern language seeping into the scripts ("This country" vs "The realm").
Big stupid action set pieces that do nothing to further anyone's character arc.
Considering how GRRM's writing is character, bot plot driven, and that he has rewritten so much of WoW, I doubt it. The story has gotten so big with so many characters that the fat man can't cope with all of it, let alone the writer of X Men Origins Wolverine.
>Absolutely nobody in King's Landing should be putting up with Cersei
they dont give a fuck, they just want to get on with their lives. Why would they just show admiration for a woman who wants to bring about more death and destruction onto their city?
you are just viewing this through a goodies vs baddies lens
>dropoff is really evident in season 7 onwards
Drop off started in season 5 guys...
Stannis butchered, Ramsay is a teleporting overpowered villain, Arya doing boring shit, DORNE
no you don't understand. Dany is so cool and edgy now and the feminists are mad. kino show 10/10
