Is there any other trilogy that had such a sharp decline in quality as the matrix?

No, not jw. Jw is a gradual decline. Not a sudden one. I hear kingsman .
The second matrix movies are the ultimate NPC filters, how does it feel to be a NPC OP?
this but without a shred of irony
Shame on you OP
The Matrix wasn't that good to begin with, I never understood the hype, was it just people who had never seen any asian film or anime?
If you weren't alive when it came out in theater or hit rental stores it makes sense that you are not impressed.
still a masterpiece
youtube.com
Hey inbred you are basically admitting the movie is overrated and is outdated.
Show me something cooler than jacking in
its shit after 1 you fucking contrarions, you don't look cool saying otherwise
his speech is like terrorist recruitment propaganda
it was trippier than GITS... what anime would you compare it to? The first Matrix was very philosophical, working very hard to establish rules.... the sequels feel like you're visiting the psych ward or being picked up by the cops
I remember being stoned with bros and seeing the trailer on tv, everyone was "woah" "wtf is this?" This is before you could just search shit up on the net.
It was amazing in the cinema
Brainlets detected
The sequels had some incredible moments with a bunch of Syfy Original shit scattered about
>The Matrix is super deep stuff guys!
the IRS is a system neo
that system is our enemy
two slopes with a peak in the middle more like.
What made 3 so bad?
The shitty Indian family noone cared about?
The cringey oracle actor change and convoluted explanation and long storyline feauturing weird new oracle
The scenes in the Matrix being shitty boring train stations and clubs?
The wearisome Zion battle and new character scenes?
What's deeper?
Your butthole?
>The scenes in the Matrix being shitty boring train stations and clubs?
I liked the Trainman but hated the clubs. It's like Gangs of Chicago or some shit
I thought the machine city and confrontation with the armada surrounding it was kino
>I hear kingsman
the first was good
number 2 was awful dudeweed propaganda that completely went against the "don't act like a nigger you're better than this" theme of the first
Shaun of the Dead was the best movie. Hot Fuzz had the best memes. The World's End wasn't even memorable.
Spoken like true zoomlet
Sure, along the lines of "we must resist the system, revolution now!" It's funny that back in 1999 the very overt messaging was never picked up on by the wider public but if it were a new film now it would now by inline with the politcal regression of all American activism now
Yeah and the agent smith battle was kino
'Why Mr Anderson, why...?'
The sci fi stuff is more forgivable, which while it does draw from GitS and other cyberpunk anime it does it a little more loosely, but I just don't think highly of it as an action film, Its a lot like Tarantino where there is a lot of recreation of scenes from other older movies, in Matrix's case martial arts films and stuff like John Woo films.
But of course. RoboCop, Transformers, Underworld, SW Sequel Trilogy
>cringey oracle actor change
tbf the original actress did die of cancer
home alone
scream
i'd like to get a peak at the middles of two slopes, if ya know what i mean
The Star Wars sequels are far worse than The Matrix trilogy.
jacking off
3 isn't even that bad outside of the Zion battle. Unfortunately it takes up like half the movie. Seriously, it's so long and boring I fall asleep every time I watch it.
Seeing how The Matrix films kicked ass all the way through, I would say yeah you could probably easily find one you liked less.
>Matrix Reloaded ends with Neo falling into a coma and trapped in the Matrix without a head jack
>they pull out a head jack when they wake him up
???
Robocop is a good choice
1st is great 2nd is still pretty good 3rd had too much exposition but was able to entertain at least
He'd sent his conscience into the matrix, they wanted to put it back in which necessitated plugging his body in.
You could theorise that Neo could just do it wirelessly but since he unintentionally did it in the first place it would be unwise to try without the wired connection in place
robocop 2 was equal hardcore but 3 was a fucking disaster even when i watched it as a kid
i literally went on a robocop / binge last week and skipped 3 i just couldnt do it
The Matrix Reloaded was kino. Revolution was shit though.
Any single Disney movie with direct to video sequels
Based milli vanilli
there is no "real" world in the matrix
just explain to me, how he could destroy the machines with his mind there.
>b-but the chosen one has powers IRL too
bullshit. Just another matrix "ontop" of vanilla-matrix.
There is no escape.
the first three Pirates of the Caribbeans, although the two newer films make At World's End look great in comparison
Highlander
THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE!
It's amazing how much more interesting and engaging the dialogue is in the first film compared to the sequels, I don't know if it's the background music helping or just the excitement of learning how the Matrix operates.
who... is... that girl?
The lack of good action scenes and killing off the two main characters in the most boring way possible, not to mention only getting like 10 seconds to see the humans celebrate their victory.
The movie feels very rushed and I'll never understand why they decided to release both sequels in the same year instead of spending more time to improve upon Revolutions' script. Pirates of the Caribbean 2 and 3 had the exact same problems though 2 was a decent film.
>get cool looking final boss guy to represent the creator of the Matrix
>use him for one of the worst scenes ever filmed
They took out all the magic of the first film with this shit.
I love the little details like Neo getting pushed by the crowd while Morpheus casual strolls through, the first movie should have just been its own standalone thing.
Both Matrix 2 and PotC 2 were in a "might be good if 3 saves it" limbo in the months after release, and then 3 was a let down in both cases.
I think Revolutions is better than Reloaded They're both bad though
I would love to see another movie though, the world is just so cool. Chad Stahelski would probably be the best choice since he was involved in the first 3
Hangover
Accurate
I actually just saw it over the last two days.
I liked 3 more than 2, the machine/city war was a much more enjoyable set piece than the Key Maker chase scene in 2.
did the left one even do anything other than putting a wig on?
SW
Empire is the best one tho.
Why did these guys try to climb out of the car when it crashed and not just host out?
>Dialogue is intentionally obtuse and doesn't make sense
>Entirely misses several points of the first movie
>The action is there for no reason and lasts too long. The fight with the Asian guy is completely fucking pointless. The highway chase is 10 minutes too long, the Mr Smith fight is garbage once the CGI clones show up
>Aesthetic is off
>That Cliffhanger
Moprhious's and Smith's performances were the best by far
This scene made me realize Adam Jensen was definitely inspired by Neo to some degree
>pleb filter
cope
At least these movies didn't end up as bad as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 3 or Neverending Story 3. I could at least watch all three Matrix movies, as bad as the last two can get.
I still like Reloaded fights, Neo vs Smiths is top tier
er muh gerd gender is a choice xe chooses to be fem, user, like ugh, get a grip
also, matrix 2 was the only movie I ever walked out on halfway — the “sex banter” in the bathroom scene was too cringey to bear — clearly, these “brothers” have unresolved childhood sexuality issues or something
I like how the candy the Oracle ate and offered to Neo were literally red pills.
Looking back, this scene left the biggest impression on me out of the whole trilogy. I just watched it again because of this post, it's quite good.
Same, although it was more because of all the comments I'd seen saying "omg it is so confusing I don't understand" and then I saw it myself and I was confused because it wasn't confusing at all, the Architect is making a pretty clear statement, he just likes using big words to sound smart.
why are people so obsessed with negative stuff
what the fuck would this thread achieve that's of use
why not make a thread around the best trilogies?
Nobody's stopping you
>what the fuck would this thread achieve that's of use
Does that imply that you expect some kind of practical use out of Yea Forums threads?
Neo isn’t fully human, he is a machine human hybrid, a program that is meant to blend in with the humans to learn how they work, every time he goes back to the source he gives them the new data he has acquired. Think of it as machine learning training. However this goes over all the brainlets head’s, it’s like trying to explain color to a blind person
Is he Jesus
I saw it at the theater. It was amazing at the time, before it got parodied to death.
>being this retarded
Hot Fuzz is by far the best of the three movies
>INEXORABLY
>CONCORDANTLY
>ERGO
Star wars prequels
First one was already trash that only lived on the unknowns of how everything happened. It really doesn't bear rewatching.
>movie has tons of diversity and none of it felt hamfisted
how'd they do it bros
Isn't john wick the opposite?
>First movie has 7.2
>Second 7.5
>Third has 8.3
