This is far better than Heat

And there isn't anything wrong with Public enemies
I agree but I feel people should watch heat first before watching thief. The drilling scene in thief remains one of my fav movie scenes.
based end scene when he walks away from the house and the music hits
Agreed. Tighter story, more interesting characters, amazing cinematography and music.
"I am Joe the boss of my own body."
The Green Mill is still there, at Broadway and Lawrence Av.
>>I'll put your cunt wife on the street to be fucked in the ass by niggers and Puerto Ricans.
>Thief (1981)
gonna have to check it, looks interesting
so did he cover all those cars in oil or something?
Not a boomer who remembers what Detroit's quality control was like in the early 80s, I take it.
live in England but am a boomer yes
Aren't these from the Criterion release where they blue-filtered everything?
Look up the Ford Pinto.
it's not
but it's pretty good yes
Absolute Kino.
Nope, Heat is still better. This clip here is still used to this day to train US special forces in how to tactically reload the M16. Best gun fights in any movie until John Wick.
No, my young contrarian friend.
That's your criteria? Try actually watching the movies, you fucking zoomy.
God this scene makes me FEEL
Agreed. I love this film. Easily my favorite Michael Mann movie as well.
i love michael mann but it hasnt aged well
Get ready for pure Kino
Yeah, craft is the criteria. Heat took craft very seriously. Every detail is perfect. Thief is just not.
This whole post is laughable and made me cringe.
>Heat is used to train SF to reload
Kek. Plz source me, because I'm certain you pulled that out of your ass
>Best gun fights until John Wick
John Wick is a bunch of digitized garbage. Don't ever compare it to Heat's shootouts again
t. /k/
>One man
>getting shot at by dozens of cops on two sides
>stands head and shoulders above cover firing in one direction
>somehow doesn't immediately get killed
only a brainlet would think this scene is good
What Mann excels at later is only partially present in Thief. Still good movie though.
you really think when somebody applies for special forces they need additional training in how to reload? iirc val kilmer once said that they showed the clip to marines but it was never used for any training
also correct me if i'm wrong but i don't think they reload like that anymore, they hold the gun sideways now
meant for
>shot at from over 100m away by cops with pistols and shotguns
hitting something with a pistol is harder than most people think
hitting something at long range with a pistol is even harder
hitting something at long range with a pistol while you're getting shot at by automatic rifles is borderline impossible unless you're some battle hardened veteran with excellent marksmanship
