Looked fun as fuck tbqh. Drogon was probably having the time of his life.

She lost everyone. And lol at people saying she's not crazy. The opening of the episode if a fucking elbow nudge to the audience about Targ Madness.

Because she was always an insane "mommy knows best" cunt who incinerated, exiled or ordered the murder of anyone who posed any resistance to her
She's murdered men, women and children way before this season
Everyone keeping her from going completely power/killcrazy is either dead or incapable of providing any resistance at this point
GoTbabies have the attention span of a goldfish

It was executed very poorly, like the last 4 seasons.

She didn't snap, she always planned it. It's why she never answered Tyrion when he confirmed that the goal was to take the city without razing it to the ground. It's the only way she'd be able to rule, every time she showed mercy it stabbed her in the back

Also she was super qt

>It was executed very poorly, like the last 4 seasons.
Absolutely, that's not what I'm contending
Any idiot could certainly see that this was absolutely coming
She's a MASS murderer user, and incompetent
It's only the mongoloids who thought it was some feminist power fantasy and not showing what happens with some moody incompetent teenager gets their hands on WMDs and loses any remaining hint of inhibition

Attached: D4cIkY0VUAI6V2Y.jpg (447x307, 43K)

She always planned it, for one episode, because she snapped last episode and is now crazy.

she wasnt going to be able to rule because jon's parentage ruined everything. might as well have some fun on the way out

she was secretly based the whole time

It's very simple user. When you deny a Targaryen woman their cummies it can be very dangerous and may result in the "unleashing of the dragon" — aka the razing and systematic genocide of peasants and common folk.

i hope jon has a good explanation to the charred corpses of thousands of civilians why he couldnt just be a good nephew to his loving aunt

Literally more vile than every evil character on the show combined.

*Ahem*
Fuck dragons, fuck the queen, and fuck you.

they killed her dog.

Her hidden moto is "My feelings counts more than your facts". Tyrion is her sparring, not a counselor. Varys was not a sparring,so she killed him.

She just follow her sick narcisism, as always.

The show setup Jon as being able to control Dany's worst impulses, then kinda forgot it.

Evil is subjective, and history is written by the winners. This entire story can be bent on its ass with a few erratas.

>The tyrant queen Cersei decided to choke up the roads with the countless ranks of unarmed villagers she intentionally placed to mug up the battle lines
>At the front of the castle were the armies of the Golden Company, followed by her Lannister army who fought tooth and nail through the streets of the city, using civilians as human shields through and through
>When it was clear that the army would not be able to get through, and her army would continually use civilian meat shields, our honorable queen took upon herself the ultimate sacrifice, killing countless civilians to open a path to the Red Keep
>Had Cersei simply told them to evacuate ahead of time, none of this massacre would have happened
>Jon Snow: "BUT YOU DIDN'T NEED TO MURDER SO MANY INNOCENTS!"
>If she didn't do that, then her army would fall, and the tyrant Cersei would still be on the throne, sipping wine as she picks up the innumerable corpses of the heroes of the North tangled with the piles of innocent civilians and cowardly Lannister soldiers. It was a necessary evil to end the fighting once and for all.

she lives in a society

Because the writers wanted to tell a boring story about a “crazy person” instead of an allegorical story that draws from real-life atrocities that were arguably necessary to achieve strategic ends, like the firebombing of Dresden or the nuclear attacks on Hiroshima or Nagasaki. Given that one of the writers is the son of Stephen Friedman, a former Goldman Sacshs COO who was also chair of the President’s Intelligence Advisory Board under Bush and Obama, I can’t expect much criticism of American interventionism, but make no mistake, that’s the point of the story : the good guys saving the day and blowing a bunch of shit up in the process. The writers are just so shit they took GRRM’s notes and went with “crazy” instead.

It's what the showrunners always wanted to do to the fans

Unlike the peasants.

Attached: 1541303430778.png (374x440, 202K)

imagine the tax policy

You ever play grand theft auto?

I sure don't, mummy.

Other than the child(not children) that the dragons incinerated, which made her chain the dragons up, what other children did she murder?

It wasn't necessary. She's literally crazy.

The Masters' children as "trades" for dead slaves

>Drogon was probably having the time of his life.
based dragonbro

I don't recall that in the show, what episode does she kill those children?

Because BONG BONG BONG BONG BONG BONG BONG BONG BONG BONG BONG

Just turn your brain off lmao

Christ I think it was in season 3 or 4
When she was liberating the "free cities" she started executing Masters' kids and servants for every slave that was killed

People spin all these elaborate things to rationalize it but if you watch the behind the scenes they literally say "well she heard the bells and just snapped because her Targ genes activated lol" so that's the fucking canon reason. Oh and she just suddenly in that second realized she'd sacrificed a lot, no fucking shit. All the fans coming up with thoughtful shit is just desperate delusion this show isn't shit.
Do some people just snap in real life? Sure. But imagine that Jon Snow or Arya just suddenly die of a brain aneurysm (sorry, Emilia). Does that happen? Sure, it's "realistic." But it damn sure is unsatisfying storytelling, even if they mentioned having a headache in Season 2 or well in Season 5 some maester mentioned some Starks had died from brain aneurysms in the past.

>Is a cunt to the first person who didn't try to rape her, sell her or kill her.
>Sees herself as the justice bringer and 'breaker of chains'
>Goes on a campaign to reclaim the throne and then realises that she isn't the legitimate air to the throne.
>'Friend' gets captured and killed.'
If you don't understand why she 'snapped' then you are an idiot.

I don't know if you're joking but that never happened. She even went out of her way to order her armies not to hurt any children. She only killed the actual adult slave masters themselves.

If that had happened this wouldn't be as stupid.

it did happen, both in the books and the show

i don’t understand how she’s so cute this season bros...

That's what I thought as well. I do think she's kills kids in the books, but she a bit(lot) different in the books, and has relatively 21st standards in the show. This could have been the greatest turn in tv history, but they botched it fierce.

She kinda just forgot about the Iron Fleet

Terrible writing. I don't listen to the apologist this was a terrible decision with literally not enough reasons to have it happen. Sure she was having some bad things happen to her, but nothing that would end up with her saying. "You know what? I'm having a bad month, guess I'll commit genocide on an entire city. Yep!" A decent into madness should be a fun ride and leave no doubt that the character went insane. This was terrible phoning it in just to be shocking HBO kinda stuff.

I’ve seen flamethrowers IRL. They don’t destroy buildings with hurricane force winds.

King's Landing was an inside job.

>I’ve seen flamethrowers IRL. They don’t destroy buildings with hurricane force winds.

But you've totally seen Dragons right? I'm sure there's perhaps maybe just a slight itty bitty bit of difference. One thing I can point out is that fire is real and Dragon fire isn't. Perhaps you should remember this is a fantasy show. XD

Dragon's fire doesn't even cut through brick in anime/manga. Definitely shouldn't in a "realistic" live-action fantasy show for adults.

Super-heating the stone caused cascades of vapor explosions in the mortar and filling holding the walls together due to the combined effects of erosion and moisture accumulation in the cities walls over the 300 years that KL has existed.

Because it makes my dicks diamonds.

Maybe D&D have the same patrician fetish as us.

Because the writers are hacks.

The dragonfire has never been able to destroy structures like that before.

Point is, as soon as the plot requires it, Dany has all the power in the world.

Their Star Wars movies will be completely worth it if the big bad is a female sith.

Attached: 1529303151546.jpg (600x337, 15K)

Think of all the damage she could have done to the city with three seasons back at the start of season seven when KL was unprepared

Those inside portions consistently make the show worse.

>Solo
Maybe it will be even be Emilia again

A female sith would have to be a morally grey character for it to work. You cannot make a female a real Hiter.

No doubt. Ill even take Emilia literally looking like that.

You clearly can.

Dude WOODEN BALLISTAS SHOOTING WOODEN ARROWS fucking blow up (I mean explosions) a fleet of ships in the episode before this, you shouldn't be surprised. Or maybe you should, because those same weapons used by the same people are now worthless! Just turn off your brain.

Isn’t it sad Cersei thought she would stand a chance against /our girl/? Because of her, Daenerys had to step on thousands of innocent civilians on her way to the red keep.

I think this image is so hot, no idea why.

This was terrible phoning it in just to be shocking HBO kinda stuff.

This. In hindsight attempting to set it up with Varys is even more embarassing
>Varys before season 8: "I've been secretly conspiring to put a Targ back on the throne with my presumable network of spies in Essos keeping me updated with every move Dany makes"
>Varys in season 8: "Lol what if she's crazy Tyrion? Huh? What then?"

Attached: 32121.png (1200x1335, 269K)

I don't think she's had sex since Jon found out he was a Targ.
From her perspective the man she loves abandoned her, so why should she do anything he says? Women are quite spiteful and emotional, it's quite logical (at least, the logic of their emotional outbursts) in truth.

>Dragon's fire doesn't even cut through brick in anime/manga. Definitely shouldn't in a "realistic" live-action fantasy show for adults.

LOL, Dragons at full scale have to weigh at least a few tons. That would make them impossible to fly, because physics. At some point you've gotta ignore fantasy elements in order to enjoy the show. LOL you're so sweety ignorant I want to buy you a puppy.

>The dragonfire has never been able to destroy structures like that before.

So.. dragon scales can kill the perfectly physically possible undead & the Nightking? Ok gotcha! Game of Thrones is really about realism. Who knew! XD

>Point is, as soon as the plot requires it, Dany has all the power in the world.

No, that's called bad writing and rushed production and not enough episodes.

Because she looks insane and unhinged.

Attached: 1527488872435.jpg (849x1200, 69K)

Nice picture for my fap folder.

The whole thing gets even worse when you realize that what's supposed to set her off is her not getting attention at a party. A party! In Jon's home! Where the only one being frosty to her is his cunt of a sister!

They've literally made her a school-shooter tier psychopath. D&D are going to be fucking eviscerated for this come Sunday once Jon ends up killing her.

Imagine the sex, you'd probably both fight for power, probably could really smack her hard

varys couldn't see that this side of hers would win out until last episode, so don't go on pretending that it was super obvious all the time. in fact he wasn't even 100% sure when he was being executed.

>Dragon's fire doesn't even cut through brick in anime/manga.

... yeah it does. They shoot fucking lasers and railguns out of their mouths more often than not. Jesus Christ.

well the depiction is also just really, really cute.

It's because it's a girl.
Triggers your protective instincts and makes you want to take care of her.

>Leave viewers utterly baffled as to why she doesn't talk to anyone and no one talks to her
>Leave viewers utterly baffled as to why she thinks no one likes her after one conversation with Jon's bitchy sister when three of the seven kingdoms have pledged to her already, before Jon

B R A V O

>Any idiot could certainly see that this was absolutely coming
Except they couldn't, and didn't, because every mad act that was claimed as foreshadowing was done with some actual political intent behind it. The only "intent" is:
>b-but she burned them to terrify the population into fearing her!
When were we ever given an indication of this, beyond her usual autistic outbursts about how THE THRONE IS MINE?

I found it believable. You have to understand her psychology, and I don't think that it's simply 'Targ madness'. I don't even think she's mad - at least not in the same sense that her father was.

Consider that she was raised from very early childhood by her older brother who was not a particularly apt caretaker, but who still sheltered her to a degree from the harshness of her life. She didn't have any older family caring for her or guiding her, and she was raised to hate the families of Westeros who took her throne from her.

Then consider her current situation. Her closest friends and advisors from Essos are dead - her Westerosi companions seem to be showing more loyalty and sympathy to the residents of King's Landing - who she perceives as having taken her birthright and caused her shitty upbringing - than to her. Jon Snow rejected her. She's essentially alone and unloved in a foreign land.

Then she's sitting on the wall of the city of people she hates with a fucking dragon at her disposal. Its brother (her child) was killed by the same people who narrowly failed to kill Drogon moments before. The castle is occupied by your hated enemy who betrayed you, causing extra deaths in your loyal army (at Winterfell) and executed one of your closest advisors. Is it really so hard to believe she'd just snap?

Also want to point out that 'Targ madness' might be overstated. Aerys II might not even have been mad. Ed's father and brother might have been engaged in conspiracy against the throne (Southron ambitions theory), and the war was really started to a large degree because Lyanna loved Rhaegar not Robert. Robert only rationalized that as a rape and twisted it into justification.

Again how the hell do you get from Varys knowing full well what she's like in Essos, being cool with her for half the season she's in Westeros then suddenly coming to the realisation that "oh she's batshit insane bro, we need to do something about her....probably should've let Jorah off her 2bh..."

The STUPIDEST fucking thing is that we're never given a single reason as to why simply burning the Red Keep to the ground wouldn't have been enough to inspire terror in the populace.

Instead, we get "ayyy, Cersei just chopped off Melisandre's head in front of me, but let me take twenty minutes napalming the streets to make sure Lena has enough time to get away and get her weepy death scene"

Easy. He read the script, just like Sansa.

>Ed's father and brother might have been engaged in conspiracy against the throne (Southron ambitions theory), and the war was really started to a large degree because Lyanna loved Rhaegar not Robert

But the "Southron ambitions" stuff has been cut from the tv show, and they've played it pretty close with the "Targs are either mad or brilliant kings"

It's literal madness. Opener of the episode is a callback to Cerseis dialogue from 5 seasons ago. They added it, because they knew they didn't set it up well enough.

Then assume she wanted some revenge. That she wanted to burn some people, and that that is at least a bit of Targaryan madness.

You shouldn't have fallen in love with a pitbull.

She is still going to be seen as sympathetic

Because the all of remaining characters motivations are that there's 2 episodes left, and that they gotta wrap this shit up.

She also literally said that the population itself was bad for not rising against Cersei at one point.

Yes but show is still based on the books, and we ought to be assuming that this is what ultimately happens in the books. Thus, I'm not really arguing that it necessarily makes sense from a series-only perspective (which I can't do since I've read books), but rather that her decision makes sense as Martin (probably) wrote it.

Disagree. I think it's temporary emotional instability that she'll be forced to 'commit to' afterward because of the immensity of her split-second decision.

I don't doubt that, just doubt that it's not rushed as fuck and/or due to D&D wanting an epic twist to shock the fans

Based Viserys clearly just raised her in the right manner.
Cersei woke the dragon.

Attached: viserys.gif (500x250, 1019K)

Because she's insane.

She was completely right.

Disagree all you want. Episode confirms insanity in the least nuanced way.

This.
There is no reason.
No is no concern for motivation or context.
The writing is that bad.

You know what would have made sense? Rhaegal not being killed in the previous episode. Jon riding Rhaegal in the most recent episode. Rhaegal gets shot down while Jon is riding him. Dany assume Jon is dead at the hand of Euron/Cersei and that sets her off.

Or some other direct causation and something that causes a heat-of-the-moment context that results in an impulsive decision.
Or fuck, more ongoing context to demonstrate growing paranoia. Say Varys getting executed for having killed Missandei via poison that he had intended to kill Dany with. That would have helped.

But who cares anymore.

I'm a Stannisfag, my dude, but even an imbecile could recognize this awful writing.

I get what you're saying and it's perfectly ok that you think the piece of crap that happened is reasonable. My contention is there wasn't enough build up to pull it off. It was as though, 3 or 4 episodes where missing that could have laid more work into her snap crackle pop killing spree. Now I do like that she did go crazy, this is the game of thrones after all, but it wasn't done correctly at all.

As for 'Targ Madness', I could give a crap about that, for me the viewer, it's all about making a major characters heel turn an event that is understable and reasonable so when that character dies it's explainable through the means provided not alluded to. There's a difference.

I shouldn't have to get into the psychological underpinnings of historical jibber jabber when the director & writers can simply show me scenes in which I could refer back to as proof of possible insanity occuring at some point.

Still, you're entitled to your opinion but they dropped the ball to have one of the most beloved characters go bonkers without more meat on the bone.

>I'm a Stannisfag, my dude, but even an imbecile could recognize this awful writing.
Problem is that the message from this is not the general awful writing, but rather that you shouldn't do this to a stronk wamen.

Maybe if someone is from /Pol/tlandia, or the Burlington Brap.

>Then she's sitting on the wall of the city of people she hates
But she has zero experience with the people of King's Landing. Last time she was there she didn't interact with them. All the actions you are describing as her being wronged by were things ordered by Cersei.
>Then consider her current situation.
From several days ago, at the hand of Cersei. And also largely the fault of Dany herself due to her haste and poor planning.
>Is it really so hard to believe she'd just snap?
Those impetuses happened days and days prior. Not in that exact moment and there's a considerable lack of demonstrated buildup or immediate motivation demonstrated for that instant.

Stop being so forgiving of a very horribly written season.

>Problem is that the message from this is not the general awful writing, but rather that you shouldn't do this to a stronk wamen.

Huh? Go jack off to Wonder Woman porn or something dude. The writing was clearly terrible and most people don't care when characters die in this world, it's about HOW THEY DIED, so when they kill miss Queen of Dragons her death isn't going to be worth anything but it was so clear that the writers want you to suddenly just hate her so when she dies you'll not feel much regret or something like that. It's not some anti-feminist reason people don't like it.

Writing is terrible. But that twist was not.

Fanbase was happy to waste 2 episodes on fan service. What did that fanbase want? Simple good-guy porn. This twist is far better than not doing this twist given the situation.

I don't think you know what the word 'insanity' means.

This season is an insult to intelligence. Watch inside the episode where they explain that the plan was
Hurr durr
Good guy bad now
Bad guy good now

>This season is an insult to intelligence. Watch inside the episode where they explain that the plan was
>Hurr durr
>Good guy bad now
>Bad guy good now
Yes D&D are dumb. Unfortunately the fanbase is even dumber.

I had no issue with the idea of the twist it just wasn't pulled off to the satisfaction of many. To me, Game of Thrones was a great show because when people lost, they lost, and you could feel the pain of the event. What they did with Daenerys just wasn't executed correctly. I knew she would never sit on the throne, good guys or fan favorites usually die. I wasn't worried about her living.

My contention was it was terrible writing from start to end. Her downfall wasn't believable it's that simple.

As far as lacking build up, I completely agree with you. I believe Martin himself said he'd have given the show 5 extra seasons, but D&D checked out mentally already. It would frustrate me a lot more if I were a show-only consumer, but in my particular case I'm enjoying the season because I don't expect it to make sense anymore and I've accepted that they're just checking boxes off since the abortion that was last season. I just want to see Martin's ending since I don't expect the books to ever be completed, and all the SJW tears are gravy.

Oh, yeah! I'm totally still enjoying the show. It's just fun to complain about certain things. The one good thing about all this is it started me actually reading the books.

That's awesome mate - you're in for a treat. Ton of great stuff that didn't make it to the show. And one of the best parts of the books is all the crazy stuff Martin hides 'between the lines'. When you catch up, make sure to check all the crazy and not-so-crazy fan theories. Wish I could read them again for the first time.

tho she kinda looks like kaede

Did she kill 6 millions people?

I don't think the showrunners do, which is why it's so lackluster.

Per the show, and this episode specifically. She's insane/mad/bananas or whatever the hell you want to call it. She can have plans, and justifications; they're just insane plans and justifications.

Those two episodes weren't a waste, they were integral to make any action sequences meaningful.

Amazing that you faggots binge watch and skim read GoT Wikis so fast that you don't even know what happened so you just make things up.

She never killed children in the show (until now). You're probably getting confused with Jon Snow hanging that wee kid thanks to your stoner brain.

Jon stopped being able to control her when he found out she's his aunt and she found out he's the true rightful heir to the throne, not her. They didn't forget it in this case.

What the fuck do people believe madness means? It begins with a somewhat logical sense under pressure, like doubting a surrendered city will ever trust or love you plus another candidate for throne in the mix and it ends with burning children and women. To say that it is out of character is so meaningless since the whole point is madness.

it's not out of character at all on top of that

Shit writing + impressionable brainlet audience who thought she was a hero to being with.

I agree, she's always been burning and killing, threatening to do the very thing she did. People just can't grasp that the leap between burning slavers and children is filled with madness.
