Yea Forums is already praising it because it made the ultimate sacrifice. It became utter shit to show normies it´s not ok to back up shit writting just because of political reasons. Ironically this iself is a political reason to praise GoT so by praising the show for it Yea Forums has accepted that is not better than /pol/.

The show is been shit since season 5 or so. That´s a fact. Season 8 is just so much worse than seasons 5 to 7 that it is in a league of it´s own. This level of shit writting should not be employable, let alone by shows with this much budget.

It´s pretty much as this guy says. I would add that Tyrion is dumb and sentimental out of nowhere, that Sansa is called smart on the level of little finger even though she´s never made a smart move on her life and can´t keep a secret for 2 seconds, that Arya not only stealed the NK from Jon by one shooting it (despise it having nothing to do with her arc and ruining 7 years of build up) but also she bailed on her vengeance (her arc) without any valid reason.

Still, people should have seen this comming the moment they started pulling shit moves:

This. I was getting told by friends back in season 6 that my dislike for it was insane. If anything, I think people are starting to feel stupid that at one point they would have died defending the show and now have egg on their face.

I mean the fact that people named their kids after characters or got permanent tattoos without any concern from their peers is a solid example of this. It's the dangers of getting caught up with the cultural zeitgeist. I think it's symptomatic of a greater identity crisis going on.

It was too fast and is actually making me sad we didn't get to see a season of Dany as a fun, compelling, cool or just entertaining villain. Instead everything is so half-assed and rushed is does feel really WTF. Like if Harry Potter was mostly about playing Quidditch, then suddenly Voldemort popped up, Ginny defeated him and all of the Death Eaters single-handedly in one chapter, then right back to Quidditch like nothing ever happened until in the last five paragraphs of the entire series Hermione becomes the Dark Lady who's way more threatening and powerful than Voldemort so Harry has to stab her on the very last page of the book.
