Sleep Country

And the other sat empty for 10+ years until it was recently turned into an A&W

Mine is still open, dudes. what should i rent tonight?

congo

Problem child 2

A gym.

Where do you live?, Oregon?

The two closest to me became a Sherwin Williams paint store and a Dollar Tree.

One half of it is a locksmith place, the other is a gym supply store.

A symbol of American decay.

I doubt any of you guys owned a Blockbuster franchise

Alaska

Yes, Bend
Ignore this dumb buzzfeed poster

Most of it is a martial arts school, a small part of it is bagel shop.

Indian movie store and Chemist

A fucking wallgreens

Mine turned into an Advance Auto Parts.

Attached: Rip Blockbuster.jpg (296x179, 77K)

A shop with members of Pakistani descent who follow the religion of islam and sell alcohol and lottery tickets.
> t.Scotland

gay strip club

nothing, still for rent. my town is disappearing. everyone just streams and buys stuff on amazon, no stores or anything anymore.

My local turned into a immigration charity, they offer advice on how to claim benefits and how to avoid deportation.

Cum shack. No joke.

Clinic

A bank.

an antiwhite diversity and forced homosexuality centre

Empty space for the past 10 years.

Still empty

A Nike Outlet

Mine just closed down in 2017.

It became a funeral home.

isn't it ironic? don't you think? it'ss like rrraaaaaaiiinnnn on your weddding day, it's a frozzzeeennn liggghhhttt, whenn your alllready late, it's a porkie pineeeeeeee, in your mmaasshhhheerrrssss, and whoo would have thought it figgurresssss...

wasn't middle class so didn't get to go to block busters

a video rental van would drive around

Attached: 1465153477268.jpg (487x423, 28K)

First a sushi restaurant. Then some kind Popeyes like chain.

liquor store

Sounds poor

It's a rent a wheel/dindu resteraunt. Holly wood video became a Christian store and movie gallery became a church.

The Blockbuster was totally rebuilt as a Walgreens
The Hollywood Video retains the architecture, signage, etc. but is now a mattress store

>video rental van
I can't stop laughing. Thanks user. Please be true.

based. all those movies were pirated

I want to believe

Back in the day guys used to sell pirated and counterfeit DVDs out of the back of a van, never heard of rentals before though

I've still yet to meet anyone so lacking in sense they parted with cash money for the things. Or who'll admit it.
(Reliable source of unboxed white goods though.)

bank

crack house

Off-license ,
liquor store i suppose you yanks call it.

My Blockbuster was a also connected to a Swan Cleaners.

My Blockbuster essentially sat in a corner diagonal across the parking lot from Krogers.

When it shut down, they tore it down and turned the area into a Kroger gas station.

Attached: fds47g78f7.png (720x508, 20K)

One of them as a bank, another as Whole Foods

A Starbucks and a paint store.

>okay sir, we would like to ask for your social security number

Urgent Care w/ a big "Wait Time" sign out front.
A Family Video/Marco's Pizza that lasted 15 years before closing down. Another mom & pop video store that made it 6-7 years. Imagine being the brainlet that opened up a video store after seeing all that writing on the wall for years.
>but there's no physical competition now

America's best

Some glasses company

How do you even browse that? Also, was this in the DVD or VHS era?

must have been a giant bloody blockbuster to put a grocery store in there

pawn shop

I live there now.

There was another on the far end of town we almost never went to unless they had a movie or game instock that our closer one didn't have.

I just know that it was next to the other kroger, and looking at the map it either became

a) A tanning parlor/Dental office/pub
b)Hearing aid store/pizza place/hair salon
b)Massage parlor

This. Blockbusters was more of a middle class family thing. My family went there, like, a couple of times, so I don't have any real nostalgia for the franchise. Other times, it was Movie Gallery or the supermarket rental section.

Anyway, the one I went to became an Advance Auto Parts.

I enjoyed this post

Sneed's Feed & Seed
Formerly Blockbuster

Several smaller stores including
>chinese restaurant
>????
>arab restaurant
>mom and pop coffee shop

Where tf do you live

Asian massage parlor. Funny to think I walked around the area as a kid picking out Gremlins and years later I would be getting my dick sucked by an Asian lady.
Time is a crazy thing.

one of these gay froyo shits, with a tax/cash advance thing next door. ultimate poortrash

Now another question.

What was the last thing you and or your family remember renting?

Did your Blockbuster have a closing sale? What did you BUY?

Last thing I remember renting was No More Heroes.
I bought Scrooged on DVD at the closing sale.

Attached: index.jpg (259x194, 16K)

I didn't have blockbuster but instead an American Video. It became an auto parts store even though there's like 15 already on a 10 mile stretch of road.
I live in a college town and fucking rich foreign Saudis eat that shit up.

Blockbuster turned into a store that sells patio/deck furniture, grills, and outdoor stuff

Local mom & pop store turned into a Carter's baby clothes store

>user IF YOU NEVER RETURN THAT GAME THE GUILT WILL GET TO YOU
checkmate faget the guilt went bankrupt

>store that sells patio/deck furniture, grills, and outdoor stuff
why are there so many of these stores? Imagine working in one. I'd want to blow my head off.

I bought some Mel Brooks movies like Spaceballs, Blazing Saddles, and The Producers (the old one) when my local store was closing. Also picked up some cheap ass vidya

condominiums

A friend of mine worked at one for a short while. He said it's fucking depressing seeing the saddest people they get their one sale from is some overweight dad who is trying to buy some semblance of happiness for a nagging wife and unappreciative kids in order to have something to show off to the neighbors, like a nice stainless steel grill that costs like 6 grand and is financed into oblivion since their house is mortgaged for the next 28 years and their 2 leased suvs have zero equity.

That's what I pictured. Many such cases!

wasn't a van in my case, it was a literal trailer house of some douche bag who was a relative to our mayor. he rented pirated CDs and latter DVDs. he also installed chips in playstations so it could play the pirated game copies which he sold. he made enough money off of it to build himself a nice house.

Attached: 1555977922265.jpg (817x460, 90K)

I had 2 in close proximity to me and one turned into a local hair salon and the other into a hibachi grill restaurant.

A sushi place that almost burnt down once.

Attached: GIVE ME FAIAAAAH.jpg (640x480, 107K)

That sounds like hell. Both for the dad for getting himself into that situation of endless debt and for your bud who's job it was to sell the stuff and see it first hand. Depressing shit.

Closest video rental store near us was a King Soopers branded video rental inside the grocery store. It became a Starbucks

Half of it was a Mattress Firm til it closed (but not like it matters because there are multiple of them in the same area) and the other half became a Chipotle

>Chipotle
those used to be good like ten years ago. sad.

one of the last family video stores in existence is in my hometown

Attached: A0FC1C7F-30D8-4EE2-9FF8-B78C261B7813.jpg (550x248, 29K)

Never been, I aint into that kinda food.

>van
Alright posho, where I lived it was just a guy renting pirates out of his car's boot.

My Tsutaya is still in business dayo

Does yours have a marco's pizza in it? Ours does

i'm more of a waffle house guy desu

Funny enough they building one of those close to me, it seems out of place.

surprisingly no. I think most of the ones left do in order to stay in business. I never see anyone inside it I have no idea how it’s still open

Hairdresser

lucky bastard. nothing better than getting a chocolate chip waffle from a fat ugly waitress that sounds like she smokes five packs a day.

Ah, yeah Marco's is awesome though, I got a stand alone one near me.

A video store.

Hilariously it's still there and does great business.

that is so bad.

It's still a Blockbuster.

When my local Movie Gallery was closing, I stepped into the porno section, which I never did, before, nor did I know about until then. Having just turned 18, I could not pass up this chance! Found a great film with thicc black ladies!

An empty shell still unrented. There was a Burger King next to it and that managed to outlive it but last year it closed too (or rather they just movies it to a smaller location).

It was either a DVD of The Taking of Palhem 123 or
Splinter Cell Double Agent for Xbox
