It was pretty good. The next one will do even better. The Pokemon cinematic universe will save us all.

>Movie's plot was not written with sequels in mind so after the first two-thirds of the movie took things slowly and introduced the characters gradually, the last third completely rushed out an ending and conclusion that made no sense
>Trying to connect this movie to the anime universe by implying Mewtwo is the same as the one from the anime and Movie 1
>The Pokemon voices were mostly shit
>Is a pretty shitty and generic buddy cop comedy featuring a cartoon mouse that wouldn't have any staying power or social media presence if it weren't backed by the biggest media brand on the planet

The interactions between the kid and the Pikachu were standard kid movie flair and not terrible. The best scene in the whole movie was the Mr. Mime one which I thought I was going to hate going in. Pretty much every other scene in the movie was so fucking bad (intro with the Cubone, everything involving Milo Yiannopoulos, the old man knocked out in the chair, Mewtwo, etc.) that I checked out halfway through.

I cant believe Sony and WB got out bid, it was a good thing for sure based on the Sony emails proving they had no idea how to make this movie.

I enjoyed it unironically.

Yeah i wanted more Pokemon too, but not every region has all of them so it was realistic that way at least. Also would have liked more variation in the way the Pokemon looked as far as sizes and patterns. All the Bulbasaur were the same size and had the same dark green patterns on them. But as a start it was great. It could have been really fucking bad. I liked how the technology in the movie is the same as the stuff we know, modern stuff and hyper tech like holograms and teleportation. Wanted to hear more of them say their names but all the ones that we got to hear were great. Especially Gengar and Torterra. This movie could have done so much more but if it had crammed too much stuff in it would have been nothing but fan service at the cost of everything else. The next movies will be more of what we want to see I'm sure
