So, does Daenerys' tax policy still matter at this point?

Explain this tax policy meme, I’m retarded

>expecting Yea Forums to explain everything for you

Her policy is fire for everyone unless the king of the north bends her over.

GRRM tried to explain how he differs from Tolkien.
Tolkien is higher fantasy, and dont bother with boring details. There are good kings and bad kings, just that.
GRRM said tax policies as an example of his writing, more mundane and grounded, but ended up sounding like a sperg and pretentious because of the poor explanation.

Yahweh is dead and I killed him. You are giving up your soul energy to nothing

Giving your soul to hedonism is a waste of a life.

Well earlier in S5 there was an entire episode dedicated to dany outlining her tax policy once she reconquered the iron throne.
She suggested introducing a fiat currency printed by the Iron Bank of Bravos, but Ser Barristan pointed out that such a currency could be inflated by the Iron Bank at will by simply printing more and thus increasing the supply. Barristan then explained that prices fall if supply increases and explained to Dany that this would result in them being at the complete mercy of the Iron Bank, as they would get the power to gut their economy on a whim.
Dany then proposed a progressive tax rate to pay for the massive debts accumulated by the crown, but was quickly advised to the contrary by Tyrion, who cited a study by the Westeros Economic Forum apparently proving that such a tax rate leads to economic and scientific deterioration as noblemen become less willing to invest in research and development because they stand to lose a considerable percentage of their income every year.
He equated this to letting the dragons scorch all of king's landing and then went on an angry triade against rent control and whore house regulations.

based "oldfag"

>Hedonism is the only alternative to being a slave to Saturn

Oh you poor mind controlled fool

Yea Forums is used by lots of teenagers that like repeating the same unfunny jokes over and over and over and over

>dont bother with boring details. There are good kings and bad kings, just that.
Which is exactly why I don't really like Tolkien's style

that's because you're a pleb with shit taste

>one deals with the nature of good, evil and divine fate.
>the other is a fucking soap opera.

>I will burn down their synagogues and raid their bank accounts

So with most lannisters dead, and one not visible standing beside a desk, have the family effectively escaped their loan obligations? Iron bank plotline went nowhere

One of my favourite parts of the books was when Jon Snow took up leadership of the boys in black and hat to be introduced into administrating an underfunded border protection force at the ass end of nowhere. How to achieve maximum coverage of the length of the wall AND to keep them fed and warm long enough into winter to matter. I like those parts more than character drama. Practical limitations that arise from worldbuilding are just as important as character interactions for a good plot. That is why people keep lamenting the "teleport fast travel" of certain characters and the terrible military strategy in battle scenes.

If the world of the story is just background dressing while we move from melodrama to melodrama it all seems artificial. Why care about a military conflict if soldiers, armaments, food and horses just appear out of thin air according to the current plot need?

she needs to live and go after the (((iron bank)))
