The bond franchise was never good

they always changed a little
got more campy with moore, more serious with dalton, more american style action packed with brosnan + some shitty cgi, but still fun
and now it tries to be edgy and realistic but ends up being kinda boring

>Bring back Bond's personality
This is more of a Craig fault as his Bond is an unfun drunk. His wit and humor is sorely missed.
>Dial down the villain
Not every villain has to be in possession of world-ending capabilities. The stakes become too high to feel engaging, especially when it's become the plot for every current action movie. Part of what made Casino Royale good was how simple Bond's mission was.
>Make better use of the settings
Bond's exotic mission locations always showcased a part of the culture of the area. SPECTRE had a great opening shot of the Day of the Dead festival, but afterward Bond is just globetrotting for no particular reason.
