The best kind of art is that kind that brings about speculation. Salad Fingers let speculation run wild, and that was what furthered the depth of its message. I remember people talking about Hubert Cumberdale and if Salad Fingers raped a little girl before the nuclear disaster, or was a crossdresser himself. There was also speculation that he was a soldier who ran away from battle and the guilt of his failure is what haunts him. A lot of fucked up theories, but most of them were able to justify themselves using the many clues from the videos; all the while an explicit message was never provided (which is very unlike most of the hamfisted shit we see on tv and youtube today).

It's deep, disturbing, and poignant. But overall, what made it good was that it adhered to the golden rule of "show; don't tell".

I honestly hope Firth never reveals anything about the show. It'd kind of ruin it.
