Right side should just be black, there was clearly no plan for the DC shitheap.

>OMG CAPESHIT

DC was a mistake but without iron man being casted by Robert Downey jr it wouldn’t have been as successful, he really brought the whole thing together

>No Dr. Fate or Lobo movie
Fuck you too Warner brothers.

It's some real monkey paw shit that we're stuck with third rate characters who can't sell a book all because Whedon hasn't read a comic since the 70s.

MCU X-men or Spidey can't be soon enough. Cosmic is also really good shit but I think starting with two GGs will probably fuck that up the same way.

>there was clearly no plan for the DC shitheap.
There was, but then the studio shit its pants when parts didn't meet projections and reshuffled everything, including movies currently in production.
What ultimately made marvel succeed over the long run was having Feige in that executive producer slot.

WB is ran by geriatrics in the smokers lounge who can't do anything quick. It's apparent in every single thing they have a hand in. It's why it took three shit films over five years to kick hack Snyder out.

>Look mom I posted it again.
I swear to god capeshit is a blight.

the only good capeshit media is a handful of batman and marvel comics. the dc animated movies are ok

Marvel Studios might know what they are doing but Marvel comic shit the bed so hard with intrest in capeshit rising.
>Give Thor a Vagina
>Hulk is now some chink.
>Iron Man is now played by a smart strong independent black woman.
>Captain America was secretly a Nazi the entire time.

>being so invested in capeshit that you get tribalist about it

>grown men argue about childrens movies

>capeshit vs capeshit
>capeshit loses

kill yourselves

>we're stuck with third rate characters who can't sell a book all because Whedon
No. That had nothing to do with it. Marvel had sold the rights to all their big titles long before they were bought by marvel.
Hell the first marvel movies weren't even Disney. Iron man was distributed by paramount, thor, captain america, and thor were distributed by Universal (who owns the rights to the hulk).
Disney didn't start distributing until the Avengers.

>Doctor Fate TPB never EVER
Also, if DC decides to get their shit together and reboot in the next 5-ish years, we can expect at least either a Lobo or a Doctor Fate appearance on the big screen in the next 15 years.
But who cares even. DC Animated Universe is still better than anything Marvel has put out in the last 3 decades.

>What ultimately made marvel succeed over the long run was having Feige in that executive producer slot.
I thought snyder was suppose to do that for dc.

>corporate capeshit tribalism
this is somehow even worse than console wars

>Not putting Dini and Timm in the executive producer seat for the DC movies
I know they wanted that Nolan batman money making magic in their new cinematic universe, but it seems like a wasted opportunity to not tap the resources they already had on deck who had been doing a multimedia shared universe long before marvel had even thought of trying it... and doing it so well that several generations of kids grew up watching different parts of it.

THIS CAPESHIT BETTER THAN OTHER CAPESHIT

Batman v Superman was a movie about what the characters represent, rather than who they are. Their buildup were more than half a century of Batman and Superman media. Sure, these particular versions of Batman and Superman were very new, but the movie analyzed them as cultural figures rather than as characters.

why even try when Marvel already brainwashed normies into thinking things like "the best DC movie is still worse than the shittiest MCU movie"?

Nolan was executive producer on man of steel, and it was implied for the future movies, but he bailed as soon as he could (he had been done with capeshit since the dark knight, and only made DKR because he had a contractual obligation for another batman movie).
Zack Snyder was also a breakout director. dawn of the dead and 300 were cheap as shit to produce, made loads of money, and set up years and years of lame imitations so he was kind of a golden boy for a while, that's why he got to make sucker punch and watchmen, both were his passion projects, and I think people pretty much just cut him a check and left him alone while he was making them.
Superman is an invaluable IP, so I think the studio was all over it, and he either didn't know how and where to push back, or he was just kind of a yes-man.

Yeah they could've sold so many comics off the back of the movies but every one is "literally unbeatable hero dabs on random villians while quoting tumblr blogs"

>there was clearly no plan for the DC shitheap.
There was a 5 film set up with eyes at an expanded universe should the 5 films play out well.

WB shit themselves halfway through filming BvS

To be fair, a lot of the big story arcs were taken from old marvel comics already.
But for the current day comic book publishers, they're struggling. Print is fucking dead and there's literally nothing anyone can do about it, so the best you can hope for is to pander to newer niche demographics because there's no where else they think they can grow.

The most interesting thing to me is DC abandoning their release strategy when Man of Steel and then Batman V. Superman didn't review so well. If you look at the history of Marvel movies, the only one in the first phase to actually review well was Iron Man.

They should've stuck with Synder's plan instead of panicking.
