Italian horror

I keep hearing suspuria is an interesting movie. The shot composition and the use of colors is supposed to be really interesting. However Ive also heard its hipster garbage from the Yea Forums contrarian crowd. Any thoughts?

If we're talking about the original, yes the way it's shot is beautiful but there's nothing special about the story. The new one is utter shit. Couldn't sit through 5min of it with the crappy editing.

Deep Red, Bird with the Crystal Plumage and Tenebrae

Imo the original Suspiria hasn't aged very well, but it's still an interesting movie worth a watch. There's no gore/slasher-ness to worry about. Everyone's dubbed, which is odd to watch.
I preferred the remake overall. Aside from a pointless side plot and some weird camerawork at the end it was a great movie.
So I guess I'd recommend the newer film, then if you like it seeing the original.

It's a good movie, literally the definition of style over substance. The thing with Italian films, specially giallo, is that once you seen one you've seen them all. That's why plebs here will call them pretentious.
