Randal was very clever in the original clerks, he never would have got stuck at a fast food restaurant, and if he did he would be the general manager of several, most likely.

Clerks 2 is a shit movie all around, the jokes, the story, the acting, the message it pushes. the movie is complete trash, even down to the LOTR v star wars argument that was cringey and forced.

I think you really misunderstood the characters in those movies. Randal doesn’t want to be a manager of shit because he just wants a job where he can do as little as possible with having to have any responsibilities. Jay is the most based of them all clearly. Randall is just a cunt that has to be a smartass about everything and pretends hes better then he is which isolates him from others. Dante is just a forever doomer that ignores his potential. Silent bob is just some dude that doesnt break his shell and goes with the flow too much. Jay is just straight up chad that long acknowledged his failings but has such a strong personality he has good mojo with the public and can get through anything.
