Nazis are literally bogymen, you can't humanize them or admit that people don't fit into a good-evil dichotomy. The vast majority of Nazis didn't even know that Jews were being killed in concentration camps. They definitely weren't murderous psychopaths that killed people for fun.

They literally didn't though, the Nazi leadership even duped themselves into thinking they were going to resettle the Jews, but obviously the government was working in secret to send them into concentration camps.

One of the best war movies ever imo. Of course there's so many ways to watch it. I recommend it as a miniseries but it's superb regardless.
