I'm on episode 17 and it's very tiring to remember so many characters. The dialog is very fast paced, probably because of budget and effort to animate. I'm liking it very much so far but it's hard to "binge". And I like this style of anime way more than any of the modern things. I hate when they shove 3D on it.

I liked the concept of earth becoming a religious symbol for a space empire but, the execution was the worst part of the show. I didn't help that every other faction(including Rubinsky and Phezzen) you could emphasize with

Because LoGH revolves mostly around dry political discussion, most of the effort goes into well drawn minimalist scene dressing rather than vibrant animations. The most vivid scenes are the few gory moments where people are completely eviscerated.

It's only because this war has gone on for 150 years that the motivations of the main characters are what they are, there are virtually no characters interested in the original goal of "putting down the rebel fleet". The admirals of the series on both sides spend more time complimenting each other than cursing each other for killing the millions and millions of soldiers on both sides.
