I think the earlier leaks say that Tyrion tries to dissuade Jon from following Dany but Dany doesn't like Tyrion speaking to Jon for some reason and has him beheaded. As to why you'd behead a dwarf for simply speaking with someone, we just don't know. She certainly can't hear their conversations

She never had a real chance against Dany. The only reason KL stood was that Tyrion and Jon persuaded Dany to go north to face the army of the dead, and Cersei got cocky that two dragons died.

Even with all the losses she suffered and the added force of Golden Company and Euron, Dany wiped the floor with the Lannister army.

By having Dany go north first,having everything taken away from her and realizing that Westeros had no love for her, the destruction of KL feels like pent-up frustration erupting in a rain of fire.

He develops a friendly rivalry with Daario first and starts to slowly fall in love with Missandei. She gives him a reason to be. She keeps him tied to his emotions. And then he loses her. Him burning the chain is him rejecting his humanity. He's a remeption arc gone awry, a good subversion of a trope instead of Azor Arya or Jaime's butchered character.
