Seriously, Alita: Battle Angel is a great movie. Amazing cast, great acting by lead Rosa Salazar, top-of-the-line CGI, some of the greatest action scenes and fight choreography in movie history, lots of great lines of dialogue, vast world-building, cool cyberpunk feel, it's really terrific all around. You should check it out.

Literally that scene at night with neon lights before that one black chick is killed. At night, after breaking off from the motorball game, Alita rolls by the place Ido and Chiren had been walking through, but at night, Neon lights are clearly visible. Hell, there's several shots of various neon signs throughout the whole movie, dude.

They deliberately avoided making Alita look like Blade Runner or the typical cyberpunk movie which is why half of it takes place during the day, so I'd be really surprised if we get rain or neon

How is this movie only a trilogy if there are volumes and volumes of manga? What part of the manga, BAA, LO, and MC was Cameron planning on doing these movies around?

I think the original series could be done in three movies if they took stuff out and compressed the time scale a bunch, Cameron has read LO and MC but I don't think he has written anything around them yet

I think they'd only adapt the original Gunnm run since LO and MC go fairly tonally off the rails. I still like them but they'd be a bit of a jump. I do wonder how they'll do the ending though since they're probably not keeping the Alita becomes a plant ending.
