That's a huge over exaggeration and (literally) physically impossible, there wasn't enough water in that pool to cause an explosion as large as a thermonuclear bomb. There was enough water though to have the very real risk of the remainder of unit 4 blown apart as well as unit 3 severely damaged along with units 1 and 2. Most dangerous would be the fact that unit 3 was still cooling and units 1 and 2 were still online so further plant damage would have likely caused severe damage to their cooling systems. Would it be like a bomb? No. It would spread radioactivity over a large area but it would not generate an explosion that large.

they said it would be a 2-4 megaton explosion but thats wrong. the bombs dropped on japan were 0.02 megatons. it would have released the same amount of radiation as a 2-4 megaton nuke, but it would not blow up the same as a nuke
