Dany killing civilians was stupid. The idea itself isn't bad, but the premise was that the civilians will be used as human shields and would be colateral damage.
Maybe it was just not filmed well, but in most scenes there were no soldiers at all, sie just burnt civilians for no good reason.
Yes she said, that all she has left to control people is fear, they will never love her. And yes, now they will fear her, but really if she just burnt a few soldiers and destroyed the red keep people would still fear her. The whole premise is a bit stupid really, she can ignore the city really and just burn the fleet first and then the red keep.
