Yes yes, capeshit this and capeshit that, yes Endgame was kinda meh and so was most of the MCU, but can we all agree that Infinity War was an unironic 10/10?
Creating a nearly flawless villain and connecting so many plotlines, while maintaining good pacing and not feeling like a clusterfuck should earn the movie more respect than it seems to receive.

>but can we all agree that Infinity War was an unironic 10/10?
No. I would never call a movie with this level of mediocre directing a 10/10.

they literally designed a planet where the villain has to prove he has emotions. if that's not weak writing i don't know what is

Technical finesse is only one aspect of film making, it seems silly to me to significantly downgrade a great movie's score purely because it's somewhat lacking in that area.
Someone giving it a 9 or even an 8 would be fair of course, but any lower than that and their bias against it for being capeshit becomes obvious.

It was a 7/10. Definitely not the best the MCU has to offer, but better than the majority of it.

only thing worse than a reddit of thrones thread is a capeshit thread
GO BACK

Which MCU film was better than Infinity War?
Genuinely curious, personally i don't think any of them really compare.

>Villain's motivation literally makes no sense
>Shits all over Thor Ragnokino
>Literally the third Avengers movie in a row where the plot is "Evil villain wants to destroy life on a massive scale and has an expendable army of canon fodder so the heroes can look cool".
>Soul Stone literally does nothing.
>Same bland visual aesthetic as every other marvel movie
>Exists solely to be contradicted by its successor

Where's the 10/10?

Iron Man has it beat if you ask me

i don't like the last 4th of iron man. he's just a bad antagonist
the hulk movie was pretty good except the 'hulk smash' line made to make audiences clap, and it wasn't 3 hours long

Winter soldier was better even though there are two plotholes

>>Villain's motivation literally makes no sense
Same with most real life human villains. At least it was explained.

>>Shits all over Thor Ragnokino
The fuck you talking about? Thor had literally the best story arc of anyone in the movie.

>Technical finesse is only one aspect of film making, it seems silly to me to significantly downgrade a great movie's score purely because it's somewhat lacking in that area.

It's one of the most important aspects of filmmaking especially considering I am talking about visual related stuff. The camera work, editing and the overall color composition in general(the movie looks like a grey sludge just like every other Russo MCU work).

Only thing that was good about this was the villain. Not that I liked his motivations or personality mind you but one can ignore that if the villain is genuinely threatening.(like T-1000 and the Xenomorph).

I'd give it a 6/10. There wasn't anything particularly bad but mostly decent stuff.

just watched the last fight of endgame on pornhub, man im glad i never have paid to see an msoiU film.
Also that theme song is top of the line homosex

>The fuck you talking about? Thor had literally the best story arc of anyone in the movie.
No, they regress the character development he had in Ragnarock.

imagine unironically legitimately caring about capeshit

Would the movie still be 10/10 if it rightfully ended with Thor coming out of nowhere and surprise killing Thanos?
Exact same movie up to that point, but Thanos loses the clash and the axe destroys his head. I guess the losses would be nameless niggas and Vision.. which isn't much to talk about.

But perhaps the disturbance on the galaxy caused by Thanos using the stones so much would attract Galactus or some other guy for Endgame.
But would this still be good without the snap?

Or, perhaps, just make it a bit longer and have the first 20 minutes from endgame into this.
Who agrees with me? I might make a thread some other day.
I firmly believe this would be one of the best films ever if you included the remaining Avengers travelling after Thanos and obtaining a bittersweet victory without a climax, just murdering him in cold blood and realizing there's no going back. You can end the movie with Thor walking out and everyone just being silent.

>when they made that quip that was in reference to an older movie so only a die hard fan like me would get it

>Infinity War was an unironic 10/10
Trolling that hard is not funny, faggot. Be more subtle next time.

It would still be good if any of that happened, but worse than what the movie currently is.
Infinity War ended about as perfectly as it was possible for that movie.

>>Same with most real life human villains. At least it was explained.

It's literal nonsense and is inconsistent with the otherwise rational and efficient villain portrayed.

>>The fuck you talking about? Thor had literally the best story arc of anyone in the movie.

Let's break this down:

>You don't need the hammer
You need a new hammer

>It's time for you to finally accept your responsibility as the king of your people.

All of his people die and he shirks the leadership role yet again.

>Loses an eye as a symbolic metaphor for for his step in to his father's role.

Gets a new, robotic eye.

>Loki, finally after all this time, has character growth and decides to be hero.

Loki is immediately murdered.

Those sound like personal pet peeves instead of objective flaws, mate. He didn't need a hammer to be strong, the fucker just tanked a solar blast or something; but he needed a weapon to handle the power of the stones. Even Thanos went there for the same purpose. That was Thor being pragmatic instead of retarded.
He was being responsible and decided to avenge them. There's not much more to do, his decision leaving in Endgame is the right one he fucking got them all killed, and in Infinity War he did the right thing by going after Thanos.
Again, the eye thing is Thor just being pragmatic; he can be blind and weaponless, or go grab a weapon and a new eye, the latter is a better choice.

And Loki was my favorite character so yeah fuck them for killing him, but it's not bad writing. He was already "being good" since Ragnarok, and helped a bit on Dark World. He stopped being a real villain some time ago, so it's not like he got killed the second he turned good, it was a gradual thing.
