They try multiple approaches to elicit some kind of emotional response from him. Fear of being falsely accused, remorse for what he's done, sorrow over a friend's death, and he keeps rolling out "Yes" "No" "I don't know" "I don't understand what you're asking" and all in the same deadpan monotone voice. He never even so much as changes his position or scratches an itch for two entire hours. Even with the room empty. Because he knows he's being recorded and he thinks that keeping the act going even when he's alone will help his case as a "weird misunderstood kid."
